American Revolution vs. Latin American Revolution
The American Revolution and the Latin American Revolution happened on different sides of the equator but are very similar. Both wars had a great purpose for them to break out and both gave basic human rights to thousands.
The American Revolution was not caused by a single incident. It was caused due to a series of ideas and rules that were followed. The American Revolution mainly started due to the enlightenment. A new wave of thinking followed innovative ideals and caused the colonists of the Americas to see the errors of the British Parliament. One major reason the revolution began was because there was no respect for any of the Creoles and the input of the caste system that favors the Spanish blood. Simon Bolivar, (the George Washington of Argentina) and his family came from Spain and they were important people back then. At this point, it was as if they were no longer important because the lack of respect for them. Since they were Creoles they could not get any good jobs. Another issue was the fact that there was no free trade at all. There were goods that always stayed in stock, ready to be traded but Spain was eventually forced to cut almost all trade restrictions and taxations. Those who stayed in touch with Spain and could trade with them demanded a fair price with all the products that were being traded in and out. The Americans quickly gained their independence because they were unified. For example, when the British empire posed the Stamp Act on the colonists, they stood up and unified the thirteen colonies; in 1765, they called for the Stamp Act Congress to move towards intercolonial unity. They even founded a rebellion force called "Sons of Liberty" to stop the enforcement of the Stamp Act laws by any means necessary. The Continental Congress would be running the revolution, showing the strength of the American union. As for the Latin American Revolution, the Creoles lacked a unified strategy in which to follow. For example, there were many that were fighting against Spain across the continental South America without one single leader and a single force.
