The interestingness of a character is defined by many factors such as how can a character have an effect on readers or viewers or how good was impact that the character had to us. This idea can be used to determine if the character seem to be interesting or if it is able to affect the emotions of readers or viewers or if the character can change the view point of people who are acquainting the character by the things that the character does or the characteristics that the character has. First, the alternation of the characteristics of the three characters that are going to be compared, is going to be contemplated, Terminator and John Connor from “Terminator 2” movie and Joe from “Looper”. This alternation in Joe`s character becomes obvious at the end of the movie when he realized that he can change the loop and prevent the death of other people by sacrificing himself. Also Terminator personalities change during the movie. Terminator tries to adapt itself to the new community and John helps this progress to be done faster. In beginning of “Terminator 2”, Terminator is more talks and acts like a simple robot, but during the movies it starts to get a little sense of humour and the end of the movie it does not act like a simple robot and even hugs John who is crying because Terminator has to be destroyed after protecting John. On the other hand, John`s characteristics also change in the movie. In the begging of the movie he is kind of kid who does not listen to his foster parents and uses a system to steal money from ATMs. But as the movie goes on he has make important decisions and has to deal with Terminator which is confusing for him at first because his mother has told him about some robots but he does not believe her and he thinks his mother is a psychic. So he figures that he was wrong about her mother and he tries to lift the ban on his mother who is in Pescadero State Hospital and tries to amend his relationship with his mother. The strengths of a characters make viewers to think about them and/or maybe try to improve these strong points in their own characteristics. Joe in “Looper” is a strong and a hard worker that does not care about other thinks a people and somehow a selfish person but as the movie goes on he starts to care about others and other thinks. At the end of the movie he is not the person he used to be in the begging of the movie, at the end he is a selfless person and figures there are other things than work to be concerned about. Also John in “Terminator 2” is a smart boy who used to dislike his mother but as the time passes he finds out his mother was right about future robots but nobody believed her including himself and then he tries to refine his relationship with his mother mother and regrets about his past misunderstanding about his mother. Also Terminator personalities changes during the movie. Although he is not a human but it strong robot and tries to act like a human, so he tries to figure out why people laugh or cry and tries to learn them. Then it starts to learn how to smile and get the sense of humour by saying “no problema” instead of “affirmative” and learns to say “hasta la vista baby” and also he learns the value of human life.
