I believe the first amendment, the freedom of speech, is the most important amendment of all. It is what allows us humans to think as individuals and voice our opinions. If we were not allowed the first amendment we would all be clones and wouldn’t voice anything we felt people wouldn’t agree with or relate to. This has become an issue where the freedom of speech is not respected as it was intended.
I believe that freedom of speech is a right for everyone, not specific races, age groups, gender, or social class; the opinion and voice of every individual should be heard. Media is today’s problem, and the issue over freedom of speech is only progressing. People now have things such

as facebook, instagram, twitter, and other sites where thousands of people can see your opinion if you choose to voice it. Although the constitution was written before internet, now the society sees it as a way to share and/or show their opinion over a variety of topics. I believe if you have a site where you can post your opinion, you should. It is your page and others shouldn’t dictate what you do with it, if they do not wanna read, see, or hear your opinions, they don’t have to! Also taken into modern time, there shouldn’t be limits on your sites do to others opinions such as the report button; if the people do not want to see your posts they do not have to look. The opposing view on freedom of speech is that there should be limits or that some people shouldn’t even be allowed to voice their opinion. This view is rude and disrespectful to all the people are believed to shut their mouths and be quiet like a mouse; no one should ever have to be silenced for their opinion. Lately society have been wanting to minimize the speech from people who are of the lower economic status. Everyone is equal regardless of income, social status, or ethnicity - therefore everyone should be capable of voicing their opinion.
The positive consequence of letting others have freedom of speech is it could possibly bring everyone together. It could also help many people voice their opinions in different ways. Many people that voice their opinion are angry and want to express their feelings, but possibly if we made them feel like their feelings are important they wouldn’t result in violence. People also use art as a form of expressing feelings, mainly graffiti, if people would possibly donate one wall for graffiti and realized it is art they wouldn’t classify the children or adults doing graffiti as criminals. If you gave people a chance to express themselves then there would possibly be less violence and anger in the world.
