Shopping has been around for thousands of years in different formats. At first it started out as the barter system, which allowed two parties to exchange goods and services amongst one another to suit their individual needs. As time went on money was created to give a form of fair exchange for a product as well as being able to price different products. With the use of money and the evolution of needs in society shops and malls began to form as a way to have most conveniences and needs in one place. This happens in superstores, department stores, malls and many other shopping locations. When shopping for products in the stores there are usually people there to help and interact with you to help you better understand the product. This is helpful because you get more than one opinion on the product and even get information on it, such as specifics, uses, and different models. In addition you also get a firsthand look at the product and may even get to test try it and experience what it does first hand, which influences what you buy, how you buy and depending on the service, where you buy your items. Traditional shopping also gives the buyer a sense of security because they are given a receipt with their purchase and can come back to the store at any time if they may need to return or get new products. Shoppers can even use credit cards with little to no fear that their personal information will be at risk. Online shopping can also be done at the leisure of a shopper and at any convenience as long as the website is up and running. While shopping online many websites like Future Shop, Best Buy and Home Depot have sections on the website that allow for ratings and reviews of products. This helps online shoppers as it shows their experience with the product and future influence the shopper to buy or to focus on a different product. Online consumers also have the option of receiving new information on products through emails sent by various websites to past visitors or people who have registered with them. An example of this would be Apple and Microsoft.
