In the early Mesopotamian and Shang civilizations, they had a very similar evolution to become the influential cultures and classical societies. These two civilizations had problems with river flooding, governmental systems, and environmental understanding. Mesopotamia had introduced slavery to the early world and the Shang suffered from the changing over of their thrones. Shang’s form of writing system was Calligraphy, while Mesopotamian was Cuneiform. Mesopotamians were ruled by a priest, while the Shang were ruled by an emperor. Later, there was a change in Mesopotamians’ system, Kings ruled the people because they believed that the Kings had divine approval. There were four empires in the Ancient Mesopotamian, Akkadians, Babylonians, Assyrians, and Chaldeans. While in Shang, there were four dynasties, Shang, Zhou, Qin, and Han.
These two early civilizations had similarities, but also had differences. They were known for their uniqueness from one another. For example, Mesopotamia is known as “cradle of civilization.” All because of the writing that was invented by the Mesopotamians and the city that arose as we recognize entity today. On the other hand, the Shang in China is known as the first and oldest dynasty in Ancient China. Both civilizations suffered from river flooding.
