Ahh, a huge storm is coming. Hurricanes and tornadoes have many similar and different characteristics. Hurricanes and tornadoes are both storms I would never want to be in. Hurricanes and tornadoes are dangerous because of the size, fatalities, and costs. They can be very deadly too. Hurricanes and tornadoes are very scary storms for many reasons. To begin with, both can be different sizes. They are separated in to categories. Hurricane Katrina killed 100,000 people. According to CNN Student News, there was a hurricane in Fiji. It killed 10 people. There was a tornado in Bangladesh that killed 300,000 people. Hurricanes and tornadoes are very deadly. They could kill a few people, like Fiji, or they could kill thousands, like Katrina. Finally, they both have major costs. Hurricanes can cost a whopping 15 billion dollars. Tornadoes can cost about 500 million dollars, which is not as much as hurricanes, but still very expensive. (Source 2) The storm that cost the most was Hurricane Katrina. Hurricanes and tornadoes are not just bad because of the storm, they are also bad because of the cost. I never want to be in one because of the cost. In conclusion, there are many characteristics hurricanes and tornadoes share.
