Every country has a leader. Without a leader countries would be chaotic. Also the army wouldn’t have any direction. Two leaders in World War 2, named Franklin D Roosevelt and Adolf Hitler have led their countries to greatness when they were elected. They have both some similarities, and differences. How they both cured depression, how they both were persuasive. Then there are the differences. Although Roosevelt and Hitler would never come face to face in their lifetime. They both ran their countries nearly the same, but not quite. Roosevelt and Hitler of course would have differences. Roosevelt was a president while Hitler is a dictator. A president believes in equality while dictators believe in hierarchy. Presidents believes that anyone should have free thought when as dictators suppresses free thought and action. Also Roosevelt's army had a much less experience and were very weak while Hitler’s strong Nazi army had more experience (Gilderlehrman.org). Roosevelt’s childhood was much more nice while Hitler's childhood was a tough time for him. …show more content…

While Hitler’s young life was much more different as he had lived in a tougher country. While Roosevelt’s parents were very supportive of what he was doing. Hitler’s dad did not like what Hitler was trying to pursue a career in. He wanted to pursue a career in fine arts while his dad wanted him to get into business. Roosevelt would keep out of trouble by attending Harvard. While Hitler would get into trouble by getting arrested for treason after gathering 3,000 people known as the "Beer Hall Putsch." When he demanded a change in government. This is the time in his life where he wrote Mein Kampf and told us what he was going to do to change the country
The presidency of Theodore Roosevelt is well known in the general public and his actions still stand strong in our society today. President Trump’s election was a shock to many that thought Hilary Clinton was a shoe-in for the seat. Trump has already made an impact that will likely be remembered for many years to come. Although there are slight differences, President Trump and former President Teddy Roosevelt are alike in many ways. These ways include their backgrounds, their physical uniqueness, their personalities, and their policies. Taking a detailed look at the comparison of two presidents can lead to a more in depth, applicable way of studying history.
But if there is one thing to say about both men, that they equally accomplished even though both did it different ways and by different means, is that they worked with Congress flawlessly. Both had the undivided support of their Congress in their actions. Whether it be leading Conservatives supporting Reagan and his foreign policy or Roosevelt when it came down to making changes in policies to better the public, they had the full support of those behind them. Both men seemed to be extremely charismatic when it came to this. It was almost as if that instead of choosing their Cabinets, they had managed to pick their Congress.
In conclusion, Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were very different people who held different beliefs on America, but nonetheless, these two men gave their all in making America a better place. Without these two leaders, America could have been a very different place today. Who knows, I might have been writing this paper in German had it not been for them.
Roosevelt and Wilson were both strong believers in Progressivism. The Progressive movement was time of eliminating corruption and reform. Roosevelt wanted a stronger central government to help the people. He used his position as president as a “bully pulpit”, in that he would influence public opinion through his popularity. Roosevelt often took a more aggressive approach to domestic policy in that he would go against the Old Guard Republicans, whereas Wilson was one to speak directly in front of congress in order to gain their support. Roosevelt became president towards the beginning of the progressive movement, and so he had a harder time trying make reforms than Wilson did. Also, by telling the public that he was only going to run one term, his chances of running for a second term was greatly diminished, which is one of the reasons why Wilson came ahead in the election of 1912. Roosevelt promoted New Nationalism, while Wilson promoted New Freedom. They were very popular presidents in the eyes of the American people. Especially Roosevelt, who liked to vocalize his opinions and open up his private life to them. Throughout the early 1900s, Roosevelt and Wilson both were leaders in the progressive movement, with their own spin on how it should be done. The two presidents altered labor and large businesses, civil rights, and ultimately the role of the federal government.
In conclusion Andrew Jackson and Theodore Roosevelt were full of similarities and differences. What was seen though was more similarities than differences. They were both great men and a great part in our American History. They made this country great, marked their names in history books, and have helped influence it into the place it is today.
FDR uses a democratic governmental system with some cases of executive order for the good of the people. FDR gets almost all of his legislation signed and passed by congress for the good of the people. However, FDR uses executive orders at points in his presidency such as when he had the bank holiday for the inspection of banks. This was not done in harm to the people but for good urgent purposes. Adolf Hitler uses a tyrannized hierarchy system of government. This system put him above all the other people in his country. Since the people see him as the person that they all had to follow, Hitler persuaded his people to do terrible things for him. Hitler and his people killed millions of jews, gays, and gypsies over the course of World War II. Hitler forced his people into helping him out in his mission to create the perfect race by making them feel like they had a purpose. He used lies and power to have his people do all of his dirty work for him. FDR and Hitler both used different styles of government to bring their country out of a
All in all these two presidents had similar goals. They just achieved them in different ways. Wilson and Roosevelt were idealists who wanted the U.S. to be more active in world affairs. Both were willing to take drastic action to protect the United States. Roosevelt relocated Japanese Americans and enforced trade embargos on European and Asian nations. Wilson cracked down on Germany’s actions during WWI and the breaking of that agreement lead to Wilson declaring war on Germany. These actions have changed our history forever and the worlds. If it weren’t for US entering either war, Germany may have won and the world we know today would be way different.
During his presidency Roosevelt had a tendency to carry the big stick then to speak softly. He got quite involved with the situation in Central and South America and also there was the controversy of the acquisition of the Philippines in the Pacific Islands. Roosevelt was also able to show the soft-spoken, sophisticated side of his diplomacy in dealing with major powers outside the Western Hemisphere. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for his negotiations with Russia and Japan, hardly the actions of a war monger. Roosevelt was just an energetic person and he wanted to civilize what he thought of as uncivilized countries.
Oaths and promises were made by Franklin Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover in their inaugural addresses. Hoover and Roosevelt helped the country face the depression and transition into World War II. Both presidents’ inaugural addresses voiced concern and hope for the country. In their inaugural addresses, Hoover and Roosevelt expressed views about the future, the current situation, the challenges that were faced by our leaders, and how the Great Depression impacted the nation
Both JFK and FDR were amazing people, who did great service for their country. Both aiming for freedom and security they went for what they wanted with the citizens agreement. Although Kennedy was able to make his speech heard for all of the world Roosevelt was speaking to the American citizens. Both did great for the freedom and rights of America and the rest of the
Firstly, FDR did not reach the White House the same way that his 5th cousin Teddy did. FDR had campaigned for the Presidency, against the incumbent Herbert Hoover. FDR was a Democrat and felt that the government needed to do more to help its people. Hoover, a Republican, did not believe in direct government intervention. He believed in voluntaryism, asking working corporations to voluntarily improve working conditions and wages.
Politics. Politics control this world, and sometimes for the worst. Politicians can be deceiving, and lie right to you, with no signs of remorse. They can be the worst type of human being, manipulating you for their own cause. They can be evil. In America, the next presidential election is approaching, and we have many of these politicians trying to become our next president. Although there are many, I 'm going to concentrate on one. Donald Trump. He is a corrupt politician, and a cancer to our society. This man is so malevolent, he is drawing comparisons to one of the most barbarous men of all time, Adolf Hitler. These men are eerily similar, and I am uneasy knowing that someone that could be our next president is showing similarities to a mass murderer. These are not erroneous claims. Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler are similar because of their rhetorical abilities, hating of
The Great Depression, beginning in the last few months of 1929, impacted the vast majority of people nationwide and worldwide. With millions of Americans unemployed and many in danger of losing their homes, they could no longer support their families. Children, if they were lucky, wore torn up ragged clothing to school and those who were not lucky remained without clothes. The food supply was scarce, and bread was the most that families could afford. Households would receive very limited rations of food, or small amounts of money to buy food. This led to the starvation of families, including children. African-americans faced tougher challenges than most during the Depression due to discrimination. The classes hit hardest were middle-class
The 1930s were a very rough time for most people. These were hard times because of the Great Depression and the Stock Market crash. The Presidents of the 1930s were Herbert Hoover and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Both of these Presidents came from different backgrounds and had the responsibility of trying to help people through the Great Depression. The two Presidents of the 1930s, Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt were faced with many problems during America’s Great Depression and had very different approaches at solving them. Franklin Roosevelt was favored by many and Hoover was looked down on by most of America’s people.
Compare and Contrast Essay Rough Draft January 26, 2016 Justin Park The Great Depression was the worst period in the history of America’s economy. There is no way to overstate how tough this time was for the average worker, and there was a feeling of desperation that hung over the entire country. Current political wisdom leading up to the Great Depression had been that the federal government does not get involved in business or the economy under any circumstances. Three Presidents in a row: Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover, all were cut from the same cloth of enacting pro-business policies to generate a powerful economy.
