Have you ever wondered what it would be like to revisit your past? The Best of Me is a book that shows you what it’s like to revisit that past. The book really grabs you and makes you feel like you too are in the book. Think about that one person that you wish would come back in your life. Now think what would happen if you could fix all the problems you left unanswered. To me this book did a great job answering all my questions. Let’s first start off by telling you about Dawson and Amanda. They were high school sweethearts that had a great relationship. It was a complicated relationship because Amanda’s dad did not approve of Dawson. Dawson came from a family that was similar to today’s mafia so many people did not like him or his family. …show more content…
They come back together for a mutual friend’s funeral. They had to spend time together because they were both on Tuck’s (the mutual friend) will. They ran into each other at Tuck’s house and that’s where it all began. Amanda was married so she wanted nothing to do with Dawson at first and she was trying to keep her distance, but Dawson was single. In the will, they both got half of Tuck’s house and his instructions were for Dawson and Amanda to clean the house and get rid of anything they did not want. While cleaning the house Amanda and Dawson got very close and going through all the old photos brought back a lot of old feelings. Amanda was married, but hated her husband. If you ask me she should never had stayed with her husband, because they really didn’t have a relationship, it was just a title. He was a jerk who worked all the time and didn’t care about Amanda or their son. After spending some time together, Amanda and Dawson fell into some old feelings and ended up rekindling the love they once had. It really brought me in and kept me interested during the whole book. It portrays the old question of “is fate real”, and that is the main reason why I like this book so much. I have read many Nicholas Sparks books and watched many of his movies, and I would say that this is by far one of my favorites. It just had something about it that makes me want to read it again and again. I think Nicholas did a great job with all the famous quotes, and making them something that everyone will remember. How could you hate a book that makes you think about your life and the choices you made? I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants an easy read that gets you emotionally invested in the book. I promise once you start this book you will never want to put it
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
The ending of this book was a cliffhanger. In my opinion that is the worse kind of ending, but that’s how that writing persuades the reader to get the next book in the series. Without giving too much away about the end of the story, it was very unexpected. To be
The story is a realistic story about the Hoods and the Willams. Both of these families were affluent families that lived in New Canaan. The book centers around Wendy and the events that take place during the their thanksgiving in the 70s. The story is pretty simple and is about family strife. Wendy is a typical adolescent exploring her sexuality. At the same time her parents, Ben and Elena are having marital differences. Ben is cheating on his wife with Janey, the wife of his close friend Jim. The irony comes up with Wendy who is has sexual relations with Janey and Jim's son Mikey and his younger brother Sandy. Wendy's older brother Paul who goes to boarding school returns home and is sexual inexperienced he desires to be with a girl named Libbets. The story centers around a key party that both the Hood's and Willams' attend. The highlight of the key party is where people place their keys into a jar and people pick up the keys of different people to have sex with the owner of the keys. At this party Ben expects to have sex with Janey, but instead Janey blows him off and has sex with someone else. This night Elena also finds out about the affair and has an affair with Jim, Janey's wife. Now while both of the parents are away Mikey wants to see Wendy, but instead Wendy fools around with Sandy. Mikey ends up wandering during the ice storm to get electrocuted by a live wire. At the same time Paul is with Libbets drinking and taking drugs. All of this is happening simultaneously on one fortuitous night.
I have a few dislikes about the book. My first dislike about the book is that it was full of vulgar language. I did not like the use of vulgar language in this book. I see no need in having it. Another dislike about the book is that it did not have any pictures. Pictures help people visualize what is happening in a story better.
I think that overall the book was an amazing book. It drew me in the entire time and I could not put it down because of that. If any part started to get boring something insane would happen to make it interesting. For example in one part of the book it starts to get a little bit slow because it just talks about search methods a group of Bzrk members were using. Then suddenly a fake swat team busts into the house and kills everyone inside besides one child who ends killing almost all of the fake swat team. Another example was that a girl was sitting on the beach counting and kept counting for a while. Then suddenly she gets kidnapped and brought aboard a ship that is full of crazy people. Those are just some the things that happen throughout the book that keep interested on every page.
Amanda was a woman who lives in a world of fantasy and reality. In the past memory and the future of the fantasy made Amanda very strong, but in the face of reality she was fragile. Just like Tom used to explain “I give you truth in the
Nicholas Sparks is considered to be one of the greatest American authors of today. He provides love, romance, passion, drama, tragedy, comedy, triumph, and mystery in all of his novels. His stories are heartwarming and inspiring. Nicholas Sparks does not have a specific writing style. His writing style is flexible and liberal, and can be described as romantic, imaginative and engaging, and varies depending on the theme of the novel. The theme of the novel is the main thing that affects his writing style. Even though the themes of each novel mostly deal with love, each novel takes on different perspectives of love. His novels can be described as romantic, compassionate beach reads with real, relatable characters.
In my opinion, this novel was a very romantic, and happy love story and overall an wonderful novel. I loved all the plot twists throughout the story. I believe Sparks did an amazing job writing this story. He managed to make the reader laugh, cry, and smile all in a matter of a few pages. The story line is intriguing and very relatable to the dreams of young girls. It allows the reader to imagine the love connection between Allie and Noah and makes them enjoy hearing about their journey together as a
On the other hand, the assertion that person-centred care always appropriately identifies patient’s emotional needs must be challenged. For example the use of the ‘This is me’ Alzheimer’s Society (2016) booklet is a popular method of ‘preserving identity’ in patients with Dementia, used in both hospitals and care institutions. It is a record of the patient’s life history and preferences. However although ‘This is me’ is useful as a simplistic overview, it does not allow scope for a greater depth of understanding, for example acknowledgement of traumatic or distressing events in a patient’s history. Therefore it can be argued to be a ‘white-washing’ of a multifaceted individual rather than a preservation. For example Andre asks about his daughter
Amanda and Dawson live in two seperate realities, but the love they share overcomes their differences in every way possible. Amanda comes from a very privileged family while Dawson comes from the opposite: after having enough of living in an abusive drug house, Dawson runs away and ends up living with an old man Tuck (Gerald McRaney) who becomes his new caretaker. Amanda and Dawson enjoy their senior year together, planning to continue their relationship through college, only until their lives took a dark turn. Dawson accidentally kills his cousin when he attempts to kill his father, who not only abused him, but Tuck. He testifies against his father, but still has to go to jail. Amanda goes to the prison to visit him every day, but he cuts off all ties with her, not wanting her to suffer through seeing him in
For a long time I have been interested in the subject of psychology. The ways people behave and why they do certain things has always fascinated me and makes me question myself a lot. To answer these questions, I started to read many books that related to psychology to gain as much knowledge as I can. I now have a better overview of psychology so I would like to continue to further my knowledge at a higher level in Berea College.

Starting from the initial point when I was a child, I don’t recall any bad memories happened at that time. Moreover, I had a very joyful childhood. Growing up in a big neighborhood, I was always surrounded by people, good and bad. Good people taught me the knowledge which could help me get through
Hi, my name is Rob Geis and I am currently in grade 12. I have been at County High School for a year now; I joined at the start of 11th grade, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The school is great, the people are fantastic and the atmosphere is one that makes you actually want to go to school. Before I joined ASB I was studying at the Singapore American School for two years and prior to that I was at the International School of Kuala Lumpur for two years. I was born and raised here in Bombay city and grew up here.
February 11th, 1996, in the small town of Spencer, West Virginia, a baby girl was brought into this world; Little did she know how cruel and vindictive this world truly is. Twenty-years later, here I am still trying to understand my place. I was born into a rather large family (counting aunts, uncles, cousins, & just about everyone). Throughout my childhood, all the way up to my junior year of high school, my family moved just about every year. Over the next few years I really got into history and government, only then did I look back at all of the life changing events in my lifetime and truly understand what happened.
