North Korea vs. the United States of America
The United States of America has had a strained relationship with North Korea for quite some time. While some people new to the conflict tend to think that the fight between the two nations started only recently, it is safe to say that the North and America have conflicted since the cold war. North Korea wants to be treated as an equal regarding military power by Washington, and they are willing to continue with the armed forces actions until when they can enter talks as such. On the contrary, Washington and its leaders continue to believe that the North does not have the resources and military power to launch warheads that can reach as far as the United States mainland. So far the conflict between the two countries has continued to escalate, and it is impossible to overlook the idea that with tensions rising a war might be looming.

In the recent past, the American fighter jets have gone over international waters further into the demilitarized area between the two Korean countries. Kristoff reports in The New York Times that, “North Korea is galvanizing its people to expect a nuclear war with the United States” (Kristoff, 2017). The actions apparently were in reaction to the warhead launches the North had made in the recent times. The foreign minister Mr. Yong supports the North’s President’s ideologies. In his defense, he claims that the country will not use the weapons against any nation unless it becomes an ally to America. Compare and contrast the United States’ war in Vietnam with the American Revolution. Both conflicts could be likened to Mao’s three phases of insurgency. Neither side won the game. Between 1992 -1995 North Korea did many good things. It says on BBC News Asia that North Korea became involved in the United Nations and they agreed to freeze nuclear weapons program those where the good they did but then there was a huge flood that created a food shortage this was also on BBC Asia. In 2002, it was reported by BBC Asia that nuclear tensions increased in North Korea and the United States.
There are huge and incredible differences between Republicans and Democrats, but they are also both similar. They differ in many more things than taxation, economic goals, and counter terrorism. Republicans focus more on Constitutional rights and lower taxation, while democrats focus on keeping taxation same, though, they are both political parties that want to end terrorism and expand economy.
In reality, North Korea to this day does not pose a significant military threat, even with limited nuclear capabilities. A constructivist perspective is more able to explain US policy in this instance, because it does not focus on sheer militaristic power. It takes into consideration the state's identity, which drives their interests. The identities of the US and North Korea and the interactions between them drove both nations to the point of acquiring and deterring nuclear use. This conflict began developing in 1994 when North Korea announced its intentions to withdraw from the NPT.
Alexis de Tocqueville and Langston Hughes both have their own ideas about what America is, was, and should be. Alexis de Tocqueville’s Democracy in America praises American democracy in which everyone is included. This inclusion allows for democracy that everyone can be a part of and feel like they are contributing. On the contrary, Langston Hughes’s “Let America Be America Again” depicts an excluding America that does not treat everyone equivalently. Hughes portrays America as a misrepresentation that does not uphold the ideals that it is so famous for. The two works contrast in many ways but do have some similarities. Although their ideas are different, politics is still a choice. Tocqueville describes politics as a choice that everyone should make as it benefits them all while Hughes describes politics as a choice that some do not have the power to take part in. Relations between the United States and North Korea have been unstable since the second world war and with each passing decade the relations have become more tense. The U.S has never have formal international relations with North Korea , however the conflict has caused much controversy in U.S foreign policy. North Korea has been the receiver of millions of dollars in U.S aid and the target of many U.S sanctions. This is due to the fact that North Korea is one of the most oppressive regimes on the planet, that uses unjust techniques such as murder, torture, and starvation to get their citizens to be obedient. They restrict contact from their citizens to the outside world, through censorship of technology and rarely allowing visitors to the country. The root of the US-North Korea conflict however ,has been on the basis of nuclear weapons and North Korea threatening to use those weapons against the U.S and neighboring South Korea. The U.S and other nations have been working for the last few decades to stop the regime from purchasing and utilizing destructive nuclear weapons.

John F. Kennedy once noted: “Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.” Rising tensions between two opposing forces can lead to intense conflict. Provided that China and Japan have struggles of their own, North and South Korea have had struggles since 1950 (“Korean War”, 1) and continue to hold their conflicts, which seem to be increasing. South Korea, a democratic nation, is the exact opposite of North Korea; a hyper-nationalist nation - seemingly creating a “personality clash” between the two. Much like World War I, there may be, sometime in the future, a full blown war because of North Korea’s hyper-nationalist secretive rule. North Korea’s isolation, internal struggles, and Kim Jong-un’s intention of proving leadership will increase tensions between North and South Korea and may result in an outbreak of war in the near future.
Politically, the Soviet Union considered the Korean peninsula as a springboard to attack Russia and asserted that the Korean government should be “loyal” to the Soviet Union, this was where the United States stepped in, realizing that they were in a competition for world domination with the USSR and the Korean War was just simply an excuse to trigger this race.... ... middle of paper ... ... It is a well-known fact that the dropping of the two atomic bombs near the end of World War II in 1945 ushered in the dawn of the Atomic Age. For the first time in human history, the world was introduced to the awesome power of nuclear weapons. Since that time, there have been several different nuclear threats to the world, and one of those threats can be found along the Pacific Rim, in the country of North Korea. Like the dropping of the atomic bombs, it is also known that the North Korean government has admitted to possessing nuclear weapons, and in doing so, it stands as a silent, potential nuclear danger to the rest of the world. To understand this situation more fully, one must be given some background, starting in the early 1950s.
