Christianity and Islam
Christianity and Islam are the two largest religions in the world. Both share with Judaism a belief in one god who creates the world and cares about human beings behavior and beliefs. Christians and Muslims has continues to grow lager and bigger. Islam and Christianity believe that there is only one god, he is the creator of the universe. Christians also believe in trinity, meaning that god has three forms: (father, son, Holy Ghost and spirits). Even today there are some Christians who still accept the trinity.
Trinity is totally rejected in Islam to Muslims Jesus was a human prophet not divine. Muslims only worship one

and only god (Allah) and he is the creator and only god. Both Christians and Muslims believe that God sent prophets such as: Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Joseph, John and Jesus and both also believe that Mary the mother of Jesus was a virgin. Both believe in judgment day will occur and people will be judged there is hell and paradise. Christianity was found C.
30 AD in Palestine, Muslims was found 622 CE in Arabian Peninsula. Christians speak Aramaic and Greek, and mostly located in Europe, North and South America and there is two billion Christians in the world today. Muslims speak Arabic and located in the Middle East and Southeast Asia and there is 1.3 billion. However Christianity is spreading faster than Islam.
Christians has the Bible and Muslim has the Quran. Christians believe in the concept of “Original Sin” which means that human beings are born as sinners. Muslim do not believe in the “Original Sin” for two reasons: in the Quran, God forgave Adam for what he has done and according to the Quran no one should be made to bear the burden of someone else’s sin or mistake because it is unfair.
Muslim prays five times a day, daily prayers are Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. These prayers are done every day as a Muslim before you pray you have to wash your hand, foot, arm, ear, nose and face. And you do these during every prayers. Christians only pray during dinner, bed time and every Sundays. Muslim pray more times a day because we believe that every time you pray you washing some of your sin away like you getting cleaner and cleaner every time you pray and getting closer to God. Christians pray got to church every Sundays and for Muslim it every
Fridays. Christians fast once in month and it has to be on a Sunday. During the fasting for Christians they can eat snack and drink if they want but they just can’t have a heavy meals. Muslim fast once in a year for one month for 30 days straight and that is once in a year base on crescent moon, Muslim called it” RAMADAN” you get up early in the morning like 2 am eat, drink and no food or drinks for the rest of the day until like 9: 40 pm and during this time of fasting you can’t gossip, and smoke because you trying to be less sinner. Both Christians and Muslim believe that there is after life after earth. As a Muslim you can’t eat pork. Muslim don’t eat pork because of hoe pigs are dirty, and is not in the Quran we can only eat beef, chicken, fish and etc. Muslim are very serious about their rules, there are lots of rules in Islam as Muslim that you shouldn’t do and half of these rules are for Muslim woman. Christians has rules but as much as Muslim do. I am a Muslim so I know lots of these rules I don’t fellow half of these rules even though I should. I am not saying being a Muslim suck or being a Christians I respect every religion because we have a compare and contrast.
These two religions’ are both monotheistic and believe in a single God. In the Muslim religion God goes by the name of Allah. However, there is controversy over the idea of God. The Christians believe God to be composed of 3 main parts: The father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. The Muslim Religion believes God is only one thing. The Muslims believe Allah has no equal, no parents, and no children. God or Allah is the deity that will determine if a person will go to heaven or hell. He is the source of all Justice and morality. Judgment day is also an idea that is present in both of the religions. On Judgment day it will be decided if a person is allowed passage into heaven or damned in
Christianity and Islam are two religions that grew from the same central idea of one divine being; they also originate from Jerusalem. However, the two religions bear great disparity but they also hold a few similarities. Both Islam and Christianity believe in Abraham as the forefather of both religions; they believe Him to be the founder of the two religions. The two religions have a holy book; Islam uses the Quran while Christians use the bible. Even though the two books do not bear the same teachings they are considered sacred in both religions. However, Christianity and Islam share a great deal of differences starting from the holy books, their beliefs, and the information contained in the respective holy book (Kavanaugh, 5).
The Christians have their book known as the Bible. Lastly, the Islamic people have their book known as the Quran. All three of these books have scriptures. These three major religions also share a belief that there is one major area that they claim as their Holy Land. The Jews and the Christians claim Jerusalem, Israel as their Holy Land while the Islamic people claim Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The world religions of Islam and Christianity may have their differences to the naked eye, but when you take a closer look into their histories similarities arise. They both went through transformations that had drastic impacts on the way they were controlled and the way that the religion was taught to the followers. Christianity and Islam have both experienced splits between their members due to the fact that followers thought that their beliefs were the correct way to practice the religion. While these transformations are long in the past, the splits that have occurred within each religion continue to have lasting effects on Islam and Christianity to this day.
Most of the contemporary problems bedeviling our society are because of lack of proper spiritual anchorage. Civil and technological differentiations embodied in the media have aggravated the situation. Technological differentiation has undermined religion by taking the place of spirituality in adherents’ lives.
Judaism and Islam are known to be two of the main religions that are found throughout the world. They each have similar traits and many more differences. They both are monotheistic, which means they only believe in one god. Muslims worship the God called Allah, which means in Arabic “the God”. And Jews worship the god called Yahweh, which means the God of Israel. Their differences include their core beliefs, rituals, symbols, and history.
The conception of God in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam is monotheism, the belief in the existence of a single indivisible God. The three of religions maintains that there is only one God, who is active in and concerned about the world. These religions are also patriarchal, male-dominated, which has resulted in God being described as “He.” However, how Christians, Judaism and Islam conceptualize God in their respective theologies is actually quite different. In Christianity, God is the supreme creator and ruler of the universe. Christians believe God is infinite, omnipotent, all-powerful, perfect, personal, eternal, unchanging, holy, all-knowing, and all-loving. Their idea of God is shown in the belief of the Trinity. God is one, but with three aspects: God is Father, the creator, ruler, and sustainer of all life, and divine judge; God is the Son, who is Jesus, God made incarnate and savior of humanity; and the Holy Spirit, who is God working in the world. Both Muslims and Christians love and respect Jesus, however, the major difference between Islam and Christianity is the Christians insistence on the supposed divinity of Christ. In Christian scriptures, God never claimed divinity while the emphasis in the Islamic theology of God is “absolute unity;” God is sublimely one. Muslims think that by believing in the Trinity, Christians believe in three Gods. For them, God is One God. Judaism views the existence of God as a necessary prerequisite for the existence of the universe, and the existence of the universe is sufficient proof of the existence of God.
Over the years others have mistaken these closely related religions to be the same… not anymore. Christianity and the Islam religion have differences including the name of their religious founder, their beliefs concerning the way of life, and life after death. Even the most closely related religions are different.
Muslims and Christians have distinct prayers that correspond. Both prayers are sacred to the religions and follow the same pattern. This pattern is adoration, submission, and supplication. The Lord’s Prayer, prayed by Christians, starts by saying, "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." Similarly, the Fatehan, prayed by Muslims, begins with, "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, the compassionate, the merciful. King of the Day of Reckoning." Both sections of the prayers show adoration for the Lord and acknowledge His greatness. The following passage from the Lord’s Prayer is, "Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This shows surrender or submission to the Lord, saying that whatever he pleases will be done. "Thee only do we worship and of Thee only do we ask aid," the subsequent line from the Fatehan is somewhat parallel to that of the Lord’s Prayer. The final section of both prayers is a list of requests to the Lord to carry out through the day, known as supplication. When breaking each prayer into sections, one can recognize that the only difference is the vernacular in which it is written.
Muslims beliefs differ far from Christians in numerous ways. The Muslims follow a book entitled the Qur'an. The Qur'an is believed to be the exact words of God as revealed to their prophet Muhammad. The Qur'an is the prime source of every Muslim's faith and practice. The Muslim religion does have similarities to the Christian faith in that it can be traced back to Abraham who set up a covenant with God, this being the same God that Christians believe in. A second similarity lies in their belief in a God and a prophet. Islam tolerates other beliefs and grants freedom to worship all religions. Though similar in some ways Christianity, one major way difference does exist. The difference lies in the view of Jesus Christ and his overall importance. Muslims respect and revere Jesus, and wait his "Second Coming". They consider him one of the greatest of God's messengers to mankind. The Qur'an even confirms his virgin birth in the chapter entitled Mary. The difference simply stated is that they feel Jesus was only a messenger of God: a great one but he is not viewed or believed to be the one true messiah.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam share the same birthplace the Middle East. Jerusalem is not only the home to Judaism but Christian and Muslim Religions as well. Equally important is the expansion of religions. For example Judaism and Christianity are also practiced in Europe, North America, Russia and elsewhere. Islam can be found in Europe, Central Asia, North and West Africa and elsewhere. (30-41)
Identical to Muslims, Christians also believe that their God is the creator and sustainer of the universe. The Bible begins with the creation of the Earth by God in seven days. Another similarity between these two religions is their belief in life after death.... ... middle of paper ... ...
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are the three great religions of the world. They are all monotheistic religions, which mean the followers believe in one God. Each religion has a sacred book that contains God 's message for the world. These books are the Jewish Torah, the Christian Bible, and the Muslin Qur 'an (Religion Explained 16).
Islam and Christianity have a vast amount of similarities as well as differences. Islam searches for guidance from the Qur’an and Christianity depends on faith in Jesus. Islamic faith believes in the God, Allah. Above anything else, all religious Muslims obey Allah and his commandments to obtain peace. On other hand, Christianity puts faith in Jesus who is the son of God. A major concept that separates both of the religions is the fact that the God of each faith has different qualities. This means Islam and Christianity don’t worship the same God. Islam and Christianity are two separate belief systems in which two separate Gods exist.
Jesus and Mohammed have differences in their claim. Jesus claimed to be God while Mohammed did not claim to be any divine being. Mohammed was just a prophet and was respected by the people. However, Christians believes that Jesus w...
