There are two carnivoers that live in diffrent areas in the world that have alot in common. But the polar bear eats the anglerfish sometimes. Both the species have differant equalities. The first carnivore im gonna talk about is the anglerfish. The anglerfish is a deep water hunter the anglerfish is the best hunter in the ocean it likes to ambush its pray.It hunts in the deep dark belows of the waters floors. One way the anglerfish kills its pray is by ambushing from behind to attack. The pole type aray called the ''illisium'' it is only a feature on the female anglerfish. As some people say the male anglerfish is way different looking from the female species. But,both have many …show more content…
types of colors to range from.If people saw the fish in the ocean we could not tell which species it is because there are over 200 types of species. When a male anglerfish matures its digestive system.
The next carnivore im gonna tell you about is the polar bear. The polar bear doesnt sleep during winter. Also, like the anglerfish it like to hunt other meat. The polar bear isnt the quickest runner so you can only amagine that it looses most of its food to faster pray.If the polar bear is lucky it gets a free meal every once in awhile becuase whales sre sometimes found on the ice.We think polar bears have been around from 70-100,000 years. They evolved from the brown bear.Their wieght can be from 550-1700 lbs. These bears need to eat around 4.4 lbs a day.Polar bears mostly are use to the cold tempatures but it can get to about -50 F* and polar bears are still HOT so they have to lay on their bellies to cool
down!Polar bears have dens and there is 6 different parts to have a perfect den.The bears need a air hole so they dont run out of oxygen. But usally the polar bear only has 5 parts the den unless they have cubs.If the polar bear has cubs the 6th part comes in to help the cubs where they have room for the cubs to sleep.[cub chamber]There are about 20'000 but 60% of them live in canada. After all is said and done i like the polar bear more because they are bigger and better in my opionion so if you ever have to read this story read first and think which is your favorite.
The Pygmy three-toed- sloths are described to have buff-colored faces with dark circles that surround the eye and go outwards to their temples. Like all sloths, they are always in doldrums which can be very unbeneficial to them. They have clay-orange fur that covers their face and their hair is long and bushy. “Long hair hangs forward to the forehead, giving the impression of a hood” (Grzimek 161). Their outer fur has coated an alga that is used as camouflage to avoid predators. If they were attacked, they have a high probability of surviving due to their ability to heal from grievous wounds. These sloths have a total of 18 teeth, 10 coming from their upper jaw. Similar to other sloths their body temperature regulation is imperfect (“Bradypus pygmaeus pygmy three-toed sloth” (a)).
For years, we have heard of the devastating effects of global warming and how the melting of the polar ice caps will cause severe climate changes. One animal that has suffered most from global warming is the polar bear. Global warming has caused the polar bear population to decrease due to the results of having to swim longer distances, loss of habitat, and lack of mates to reproduce offspring. Global warming has caused this species to become endangered and has some attention with social media. Global warming has caused much damage to the polar bear population due to the warming of their habitat.
Memories, with or without context, play a key role as plot devices in both Away from Her and “Bear Came Over the Mountain.” Used to provide context for their only semi-chronological story lines, memories in the story and movie alike give solid glimpses of the past that allow the plot to move forward. One of the most prominent memories, in both the story and the movie, and certainly the clearest of the latter, is the section in which Grant and Fiona go on a walk/ski in a park. The differences between the scene and the passage are substantial, ranging from difference in message to difference in visuals. This section is an excellent example of the drastic differences sometimes found in adaptations, and allows for the presentation of a case for
Ranging from animals in the present time- lions, pigs, ants, otters, apes, poultry, mantis, spiders, scorpions, mice, etc., to approximately 100,000 years ago with the early humans, Neanderthals, to the beginning of the Mesozoic Era with possibly the first dinosaur, Coelophysis (Bossel et al 2001, Defleur et al 1999). The reasons for resorting to cannibalism vary according with their environment. Some animals resort to cannibalism for survival needs, ritual activities, or protecting their territory. This essay will look at animals that engaged in cannibalism across a large geological time scale.
The grizzly bear trophy hunt is an issue regarding the citizens of Canada who immorally hunt and kill grizzly bears for pride, thrill, and trophy. Many people question whether this is morally acceptable as hunters kill without a conscience. Grizzly bears are vital to Canada’s environment as they are essential to maintaining a healthy ecosystem. As keystone species, they regulate prey, disperse seeds of plants, and aerate soil to maintaining forest health. Due to the vulnerability and over-hunting of grizzly bears, Pacific Wild and many other non-profit organizations, are working to protect wildlife in British Columbia, especially the grizzly bear habitat.
Do you think asexual or sexual reproduction is better for a grizzly bear? Here are some reasons why sexual reproduction is better for a Grizzly bear. Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction that does not involve meiosis. It is the type of reproduction that a grizzly bear does not use. The purpose of asexual reproduction is so females not able to find a mate can still reproduce. Sexual reproduction is a type of reproduction that involves meiosis and the type of reproduction that a grizzly bear uses. The purpose of sexual reproduction is for females that are able to find mates easily can reproduce.
The species that were present were not exclusive to North America, but lived all over the globe. During the Pleistocene, saber-tooth cats were present on all the continents as very fierce mammal carnivores that would hunt large herbivores such as mastodons. As th...

The habitat is also made up of trees with nuts and bushes with berries. Black Bears are omnivores so they eat these along with other small animals. They are opportunist when it comes to food. Mostly bears eat vegetation during the spring but they will eat mainly anything they encounter. During the summer the bears eat salmon out of the rivers if they can catch it. If they can’t catch any they mainly survive off of berries, mainly blueberries, ants, grubs, and other insects. In the fall their diet starts to shift and they start to save up food for winter. They are also known to eat newborn moose calves during the winter when food is scarce.
KOALAS & PANDAS You might think two animals are the same but they are totally different. Like a panda and a koala they seem very similar but they have many differences. Its pretty easy to tell a panda from a koala. A panda is easily recognized by it’s black and white fur. A koala’s fur is thick and gray. A panda weighs way more the the koala at 170-280 (lbs) while koalas weigh about 9-20 (lbs). At shoulder height a panda stands about 2-3 (ft) and koalas on average stand at 27-36 (in). They both a have a very similar diet a panda’s diet consists of 99% bamboo and 1% small rodents like mice.A koala’s diet consist mainly of eucalyptus leaves which means he’s a herbivore. What’s weird about the
One way that the environment impacts the animals is that the animals such as bears adapt and store their energy in the winter. This is also known as hibernating. “Animals in the mountains have also adapted to save energy during the harsh winter months.” (Cassandra Maier, Adaptations of plants and animals to mountains) When animals hibernate, they are less active during the winter, and they just sleep for most of the day. Other animals such as the goat and deer do not hibernate during the winter,
What its eating habits are: Like all members of the cat family, tigers are carnivores. The Siberian tiger hunts a wide range of prey, including small mammals, deer, water buffalo, wild pigs, and birds. Tigers ambush their prey, often camouflaging themselves and observing their intended victims for long periods of time. Siberian tigers are strong animals, able to tackle large animals almost twice their size, and render the victim helpless by inflicting a series of deadly bites into the animal's spine or throat. This semi-nocturnal animals covers 6-12 miles each night in search of food.
Many people cannot tell the differences between alligators and crocodiles. Indeed, their names are often used interchangeably. Both are from the order crocodilian and from afar they do look similar. But similar is not same. We shall examine some significant differences. More specifically, we shall focus on the physical attributes, biological differences and temperament of these semi-aquatic predators.
The Arctic region is home to a variety of valuable animals and plants, including polar bear, seal, and so on. The ecosystem of the Arctic region is fragile because these animals are evolved to live in extreme conditions. With the climate change, many animals are endangered. Ice is the habitat of polar animals because they have to rely on sea ices for resting, food, and reproduction. With the climate change and the decrease of sea ice, the number of polar animals is decreasing and their health is threatened. For example, the average weight of female polar bears in 1980 was about 650 pounds, but the number reduced to about 500 pounds in 2004 (Djoghlaf 15). The earlier breakup and later condensation of sea ice shortens the hunting season of polar bears. Polar bears mainly feed on seals that indwell icy land. The melting ice reduces the number of seals and food intake of polar bears. In addition, polar bears are used to living in ice caves. The rising temperature causes the collapse of ice caves, which can kill baby bears. The climate change is negatively affecting the biodiversity in the region and will definitely harm the ecosystem
Land carnivores either walk on the soles and heels of their feet or on their toes. Dog, wolves, bears, raccoons and civets are examples of land carnivore. A combination of strong bones in the feet and bendable wrists allow these animals to climb, run, jump, and overcome their prey. On the other hand, aquatic carnivores including eared seals, true seals, and walruses have a torpedo-shaped body that allows for easy movement through the water. The thick layer of blubber, or fat under their skin, not only provides insulation but ...
