Community corrections/intermediate sanctions
There are so many people who are incarcerated and on the way back into society. Many people have left prison and ended up right back in prison because they were not able to transition properly. Without the proper resources, it is very difficult for recently released prisoners to get back on the right track. It is important to see how effective community based programs are for recent offenders. It discusses the problems and challenges faced by those who are trying to reenter society and regular every day routines after being released from prison. It is important to be aware of the challenges individuals face when they have been just released from prison. Being aware of the challenges will allow us to find effective and efficient programs that will help with the transition phase. This is a difficult phase for the majority of prisoners coming back into society. It is our responsibility to help guide them back in to their regular routines and help with job seeking. Some prisoners have no where to go afterwards, which means they are homeless and jobless and that could lead them to go back into their illegal activities that will have them back in prison. They’ve serve their time for their crime and as a community we should stand together to welcome them back into society and help them get on their feet.

This article is beneficial to my research because I think it is important to understand how the social, biological, and environmental factors have an impact on the offender and the community and on the probation outcomes. This is important to know this because it is significant to know where community based programs are needed the most. This article discusses who benefits from these programs and who actually receives alternative probation outcomes. Finding out if there is a certain group that receives more help after being release is important because every single person should be involved in some type of community based program to help them back into
