A community: otherwise a group of people who share common culture and heritage a populace, an alliance, an association, a neighborhood, a district, a society. A dictionary definition is what the population settles for as far as the context where they consider themselves as apart of a community. The word community in the 14th century, had derived from the word “common,” in that time, meaning fellowship in a ‘community’ of relations or feelings. However, the term then became used concretely as to pertain to a body of fellows or townsmen. It is vital though, that the youth involves themselves genuinely in a community, and not assume that they’ve done so simply by physically moving into one. Such a task means a challenge, however, through awareness and inspiration, the benefits of being apart of a community are within reach.
“What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities, in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured,” says American novelist Kurt Vonnegut. In other words, the youth of our culture is holding the power to deplete the loneliness that we all face, and can do so simply by coming together civilly to build an alliance which will in turn be used to battle such loneliness. For example, the teenager wasting his hours at a computer screen in the afternoons could change his and others’ entire outlook by choosing a place in his community to help others, such as volunteering at a shelter, or helping the elderly. This gives him the chance to experience more value in his self-worth, while also benefiting the people around him. Likewise, the braggart spending his energy on creating his own reputation could be using such energy to help...

.... There’s a chance that this realization will make them feel the desire and capability to be apart of something larger, which contributes to leading a much happier life when being filled with the contributions of others. It's illogical, to feel alone each day when passing hundreds of faces, however, if we acknowledge ourselves as apart of the hundreds of faces, we won’t have to feel so alone.
It is clear, that if the youth can choose to stop wasting time in a superficial reality, while avoiding displaying extents of their ego, long enough to consider their role in the context of the whole, a community could be achieved, and that youth would mentally benefit from contributing to those around them. While it is hard on bitter days to exchange a smile with a stranger, having in mind, that universal compassion is necessary, to lead a life that is free of lonesomeness.
Community is defined as a group a people living in an area under the same conditions. Realistically, a community is so much more than this definition. It is people and their different beliefs that form a community. In the town of Milagro, Amarante Cordova, Ruby Archuleta, and a town coming together to rescue a fellow community member from jail exemplify the true spirit of what community is.
Individuals often experience unfortunate sufferings and difficulties through their life; some may continue to persevere and endure these arduous circumstances in hopes of achieving a more desirable, comfortable way of living. While attempting to fulfill their own objectives, individuals may also unexpectedly receive the attention and assistance from others which instigates a change in their previous attitude towards life. In the short story “Divisadero”, Michael Ondaatje suggests that when individuals receive unexpected forms of kindness and understanding from others, they may suddenly realize their own individual potential and capabilities they possess as they aspire to attain greater possibilities and goals. These unforeseen acts of compassion
It’s important to understand that the path will incline in it’s calamity, especially for youth, but it’s crucial for the pursuit of knowledge. The intercontinental world we live in is complete with diversity, making it essential for people to engage in educating themselves about all the wonders of the world. While taking into account that the pursuit of knowledge is a progressive road. Knowledge will then promote one into self-awareness, a chance for one to learn about themselves. During the pursuit of self-awareness, one learns to identify their strengths and weakness. This is a susceptible region, where youth must remember not to become indistinguishable with everyone else. Nevertheless, it allows for the pursuit of authenticity, the construction of one’s unique self. Then comes the horizon, the light behind the
Twenge suggests that the rates for dating have dropped immensely because people would rather stay at home on their phones rather than go out and meet new people. She notes that it statistically takes a long time for people in the iGen generation to leave their parent’s household. Doctor Twenge argues that the maturity of our generation has lowered for “18-year-olds now act more like 15-year-olds used to, and 15-year-olds more like 13-year-olds”(page 63). She also implies that people who spend immense time on social media are more likely to have mental illnesses. Twenge’s research emphasises that “Teens who visit social-networking sites every day but see their friends in person less frequently are the most likely to agree with the statements ‘A lot of times I feel lonely,’ ‘I often feel left out of things,’ and ‘I often wish I had more good friends.’

But instead of reacting negatively, I was pleased to see that Anabella and Francisco and Santos – and all my other students – understood. They saw that I was trying my best, and that for any positive change to occur, we, all, had to put ourselves at risk in the arena.
Joseph Epstein’s “The Perpetual Adolescent” argues that the new norm in today’s society is to stay young for as long as possible rather than to continue on to adulthood. In Epstein’s point of view, this goes against human nature. Epstein points out many examples of the perpetual adolescent by explaining how staying young for as long as possible prohibits people from taken life seriously. This leads many people to postpone the important tasks of getting a job and getting married and to settle down in their own home. Epstein mentions that the creations of Rock n Roll, Catcher in the Rye, and even the election of our youngest President JFK has created a movement that has us trying to stay as young as possible for as long as possible. In his essay, Epstein argues that this movement to stay young has lowered society’s expectations and intelligence of the nation. Epstein tries to make the connection between how people dressed when he was young to how people dress in today’s society and how that is the reason for why people of
Community is like a Venn diagram. It is all about relations between a finite group of people or things. People have their own circles and, sometimes, these circles overlap one another. These interceptions are interests, common attitudes and goals that we share together. These interceptions bond us together as a community, as a Venn diagram. A good community needs good communication where people speak and listen to each other openly and honestly. It needs ti...
A community is the feeling of togetherness felt in a setting with a group of people who share similar characteristics. Living in Scott Hall my freshman year of college, shaped my view of community quickly. Going to organized events, socializing in common areas and interacting with my Resident Advisors gave me an ideal
The word community is primarily referred to our association with a neighborhood, town or city. But besides its dictionary definition, a community is also what holds a certain group of people together based on their interests, beliefs, practices and values. The world is conformed by many of these communities, but there is one that stands out because of its enormity and the passion that is shared within its members, the soccer supporters community. Soccer supporters are the most diehard fans in the sports world; their love and enthusiasm towards a soccer club is beyond normal and their distinctive practices makes them a worldwide community.
In the generation that teens live in today they are seasoned by the thought that getting by is a simple key to success and a good life. Many of these teens who are so tied up in this obnoxious stereotype don’t realize that what their futures holds is based upon their actions and the way that they are growing up is numbered. Regardless of what is said about inner-city teens they have the power to alter the negativity that is given off from the decisions they make to become much healthier. The acts that urban teens struggle through is widely consequential in the environment they are surrounded by. If you were to ask your average inner-city teen on how they embody themselves their responses would come off being more so as a motto rather than how they truly see who they are as their own unique individual. Despite their infatuated perception on how they see oneself, there is hope because it comes to show that they have yet to find devotion.
A community is comprised of a group of goal oriented individuals with similar beliefs and expectations. Currently the term is used interchangeably with society, the town one lives in and even religion. A less shallow interpretation suggests that community embodies a lifestyle unique to its members. Similarities within the group establish bonds along with ideals, values, and strength in numbers unknown to an individual. Ideals and values ultimately impose the culture that the constituents abide by. By becoming part of a community, socialization...
In Austin McCann's Impact of Social Media on Teens articles he raises that "social networking is turning out to be more than a piece of their reality, its turning into their reality." Teens grumble about always being pushed with homework, however perhaps homework isn't the fundamental wellspring of the anxiety. Ordinary Health magazine expresses that, on insights, a young person who invests more energy open air is for the most part a more content and healthier child. Be that as it may, since 2000, the time adolescents spend outside has diminished altogether bringing on more despondency and heftiness. Not just does it influence wellbeing, social networking denies folks from having an intensive discussion with their youngsters without them checking their telephone. Despite the fact that the constructive outcome of having an online networking profile is to correspond with companions/family, they don't even have the respectability to lift their head and take part in a discussion. Appreciating the easily overlooked details around them turns into a troublesome errand to the normal adolescent when they're excessively caught up with tweeting about it. The repudiating impacts of it goes to demonstrate that social networking is not all it is talked up to
How would someone define the word community? A community could be anything. If one were to listen to an everyday conservation, the word community, would probably be used very little. The word community has multiple meanings, ranging from communist or socialistic society (Emerson) to the quality of appertaining to or being held by all in common (Oxford).
Everyone has their own perception of an ideal community. For each person the factors of an ideal community will vary depending on their upbringing. My understanding of a community is a place where a group of people live, and socialize. Everyone is caring, thoughtful, and respectful. In my community people take care of each other they think before they act, and are respectful to one another keeping in mind equality.

Specifically, ministers should initiate the practice of being kind indeed by exposing their own daily applications. In varsities, sagacious professors shall necessitate noble practices such as speak nicely, etiquette, manner, and politeness. Teachers in school also included in implementing moral values among youth. Carl Jung, popular psychologist, through his research has stated that youth are more attentive to acts rather than works. So, educationalists have to pursue success in educating youth through acts, for they are the future leaders of the world. Lastly, the teenagers themselves should take an action in changing their attitude and apply more good values in themselves. They can choose what they want to be in the future.
