COMMUNICATION
Communication is your marriage as blood that runs through your veins is the body. The blood in the body carries nutrition. Therefore without the blood it will not work. The blood carries disease fighters. The blood carries life-giving oxygen. The blood carries away poisons. Good healthy blood is critical for the body; communication is equally as vital for marriage. It is a very high priority! Pray for the gift of communication to come forth in God’s grace to be able to use it effectively. Ask for the Holy Spirit’s help in effective communication.
There are five levels of communication:
(1) CLICHES – Typical, routine, often repeated comments, questions and answers given out of habit and with no real forethought or genuine intent.

They may not even know what is in their own hearts. Often men can share freely about work, cars, hobbies, or sports. It is important that the communication grow into other areas of marriage, their interests of their spouse, and their children.
Feelings are intended to be expressed and experienced; not feared and stuffed. Right now, what do you feel deeply about? What could you share with your mate?

A husband and wife can know a great deal about each other without really knowing one another. Communication is the process that allows people to know each other, to relate to each other, and to understand the true meaning of the other person 's life.
BEWARE OF A CLOSED SPIRIT
Gary Smalley wrote about a closed spirit in Love is a Decision. Here he describes how there are a few ways to close your mate 's spirit (does the term-closed spirit make sense to you?):
• Speaking harsh words
• Belittling a person 's opinions
• Being unwilling to admit when we are wrong
• Taking a person for
It is not all about communication” . It says that not surprisingly those couples who reported communicating more effectively showed the highest satisfaction with their relationships. But the next two reasons which were also the only other ones with strong links to couple happiness, were knowledge of partner which included everything from knowing their pizza-topping preferences to their hopes and dreams and life skills like being able to hold a job, manage money, etc . Communications generally occur in body languages: how the individuals interpret each other. Her essay is an event that is reoccurring more and more lately. The event results in a failure in marriage. In today’s society more and more people are splitting up or having divorces due to miscommunications. The essay, “Sex, Lies and Conversation,” that Deborah Tannen wrote is much use of today because it explains where miscommunications happen and she has her own studies and research to back it up. The essay goes into depth about her ideologies that cause miscommunications. Look at a miscommunication twice and do not be quick to judge because it will save plenty of
If man and the woman both had the same communication ways they would be more successful in marriage. Many of the communication issues are brought up in the article “Sex, Lies, and Conversation by Deborah Tannen.” Tannen states that men and women argue with one another over communication which leads to marital problems and divorce. Men and women have different viewpoints on communication. Women see bad communication as the one of the major reasons for divorce. Also the way men and women communicate are very different. Men are very different than women they do not like to communicate as much like women. Men don’t talk about their problems and women love to talk about them. Communication is seen as one major cause leading to a relationship failure. When couples get married the women is always looking for a good comuincator.
He mentions that with any relationship good communication about intimacy needs, sexual desires and fantasies, and personal preferences, limitations, jealousy, attraction needs to be discussed. For a relationship to stay successful overtime, the couple should be able to communicate with each other. Having the ability to talk to your significant other about problems that are occurring in your life or even if it's just for a simple advise, you should always be able to talk to them. For example, in Hemingway's, "Hills Like Elephants", the husband and wife talk about having an abortion and the wife just tells him at one point to be quite because she did not want to hear him. (Hemingway, 2004, p. 232) That shows that the couple is struggling in communication, that one partner does not wish to hear her husbands opinion and views on the matter not just because she is getting an abortion to make him happy; but because he did not seem to care as much of her views and opinions on the topic.

Communication is key in all interactions between people. It is necessary in all factors of life, as without it, there would be no understanding the needs of others. Honest and open communication is essential in an intimate relationship, as it builds trust and growth and deepens the bond between a couple. There are moments when silence is the best method to get a message across and there are moments when speaking openly is, but the best method cannot be determined without the couple honestly communicating with each other and figuring out what works the best for them. Not be forthcoming about what one expects or needs from the relationship marks its downfall as it cannot be expected that the other partner knows what is wanted without it being

A good marriage thrives on the open exchange of emotion, desires, and beliefs; In fact, communication is one of the most important aspects of a satisfying marriage (Marriage Communication: How Does It Work?). The rate of satisfaction in marriage is higher for husbands and wives when both regularly maintain religious attendance and feel that God is the center of their marriage (The state of Our Unions 2011, 31, 33 and Why Marriage Matters: Facts and Figures). Having a strong belief in your faith can help strengthen the communication and commitment to a marriage. Having a clear line of communication is key. Trust is the foundation of a marriage, and the basis of all lines of emotion that result from the feeling you get from knowing you can rely on the person you marry to honor their vows faithfully. Without trust and communication, a marriage will struggle and have a reduced chance of

Communication is the number one cause of downfall in every relationship and also one of the most essential elements of any healthy relationship. Every couple must learn to understand each other better and recognize and accept each others’ point of view. When you love but don’t fully appreciate each other you will be destined to have a rocky journey ahead. When couples are willing to talk about everything and step into each other’s shoes to look at problems, then that will be the starting point of an ideal marriage. In marriage, a couple would always want to have a solid bond. That would mean both are ready for long time commitments of love, loyalty and respect to make the marriage work. Most couples would always have some problems with communicating

The success of any relationship relies on the ability to communicate well. Communication is important in all relationships as it allows us to share our interests, concerns, and support of each other. It helps us to organize our lives and make decisions; and it allows us to work together. Effective communication is based on the way we talk and listen, how we respond as well as our body language. We can all learn how to improve the way we communicate because it takes more than words to create a safe, exciting and secure relationship. All too often the signals we send are not those we intend to send, and when this happens, both the connection and trust are lost in our relationships.
In the beginning God has always taught us that marriage is a bond between two people that should be shared with love and support among the couple. I have made many changes in my marriage throughout this class. My husband and I are taking time with each other at the end of each day discussing what we had done at our jobs. This gives us a little bit of time to spend with each other after our daughter has gone to sleep. We normally spend most of our time talking as a family and then everyone goes to bed. I realize that we were not spending time alone with each other at the end of each day. “Communication is basically an act of the will, not a matter of personality” (Chapman, 2014 p. 55). I know that as a couple we need this communication with each other to help to build a stronger bond in our marriage. We both understand that love is much more been an emotional and physical connection with each other. This allows him to feel more empowered within the family unit and give him the respect he deserves as a husband. “As a team, the husband and wife are to work together under God to determine the
