Sub-cultures are something everyone is a part of in any society they live in. Everyone lives in some kind of culture; everyone has an ethnic background, a social standing, possible political, moral, and religious views and each of these items submits that person into multiple sub-groups within their culture. I, myself, am a part of numerous sub-cultures.
Starting with the largest I am a human being; I live and function as a human and not as an animal or plant. This seems a little farfetched to apply as a sub-culture but it is a proven fact that even some animal groups have communities and cultures of their own. Also, there are even some humans who choose to live an animalistic lifestyle. In addition, I am Caucasian or white Anglo-Saxon. This is a large sub-group that makes up over 70% of the American population according to the 2010 census (2010 Census). Speaking of America, I am also an American citizen. These are probably the three largest sub-groups I am a part of and there are many more to follow.

There are also emotional and lifestyle factors that include me in numerous other sub-groups. I am a graduate of high school and someone who is attending college. I am currently employed and have had many different jobs ranging from food service, telemarketing, customer service representative, event planning, and retail. Each one of these jobs also puts me in a sub-group as others in the world have participated in these industries. One subculture within the United States is that of the US Army. The Army defends the nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It is an exclusive group since not everyone in the country serves in the Army.

The Subculture of N.A is a life outside of any expectations formed by the main Cultural Influence. It is a very private organization that I belong to which became a way of life for me. It has values, traditions, beliefs, sanctions and roles. This is the only outside influence in my life that made me develop meaning to my life again. I was a complete and total crack addict who finally hit the bottom of the barrel and started looking for a way to climb out of the grave I dug myself into.

According to current estimates approximately 75 percent of college students are now nontraditional students – older than 25, attending school part time, and having delayed entry or reentry into college for a variety of personal reasons. Post secondary education is needed by such students to develop their careers and to acquire new skills and knowledge in a global society where they are likely to have longer life spans than did workers in the past. This trend is not restricted to North America; it is a worldwide phenomenon.
A subculture is a group of people who share a distinctive set of cultural beliefs and behaviors that differ in some significant way from that of larger society. Marijuana smokers can be considered a subculture for many reasons. Marijuana is used by millions of people around the world, either for recreational, spiritual, or therapeutic reasons. Some call themselves the cannabis connoisseurs; people who respect cannabis and use it responsibly. Few drugs have been so politicized recently as marijuana has. It is frequently praised by one side and condemned by the other, on the basis of emotional issues rather than an objective view of research.
