College Students Unprepared

Do you think it is easy to get to the level that you are required? Do you ever sit down and think and ask yourself if you’re at the high standard of education that is required of you? When many students reach their post-secondary years, they have a hard time moving on to the higher level. Many of those who go to college struggle because they cannot read or write at the high standard of education that is required of them. Those who attempt to enter the military, are unprepared to pass the challenging entrance exam. Others who desire professional careers are not prepared for the honored work that they would be accountable for. In fact, students don’t know that writing and reading powerfully is important for their future. “Many American high school students, especially poor and minority students, graduate unprepared for life because of the woefully inadequate public education they received.” Most students who graduate high school feel unprepared, they feel that the education received is not enough for them to move on. It doesn’t matter if they are poor or rich, students still feel unprepared for their post-secondary lives. Students that may think that graduating is easy and then stating their lives is easy, but what they don’t realize is that there is a lot that they don’t know about what is going to be coming their way. High schools need to start talking to students and bring in students who have graduated to talk to them about how hard the real-world becomes after graduating high school and knowing it is not easy to start the new life feeling
