“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” (Keller) College is definitely a challenge, but it is also a very beautiful thing. Many students enter college expecting knowledge and a sense of direction. It may be hard to balance school between work, you’re social life, life at home, personal issues, etc. A few challenges that I know about all too well have to deal with money, transportation, and procrastination. You spend all of high school listening to your teachers and parents preparing you for what is to come in the near future. The truth is that there is only one way of truly learning, from experience. I’ve always envied him. He makes me so happy, yet very sad. He speaks a language that everyone can understand. The things people do just to get him in their hands are insane! People even try and take him from me. He can make a good girl go bad. He is money. Now, money can become a big problem in the average life of a college student. Whether it’s buying books, paying for classes, supplies, clothes, bills, or food. Financial aid and many waivers are provided to the majority of students. There are students who receive financial aid, and use it inappropriately to buy pointless, non-school related items and later on realize that was not the smartest idea (trust me, I know). For those needing an extra hand, there are student loans. Using that money inappropriately as well may seem fine and dandy in the moment, but only creates a deeper hole to climb out of after you graduate. Money reminds me of chocolate coins and salt (salt was used as currency in ancient Rome). Money represents them one way or anot... ... middle of paper ... ...etween work, you’re social life, life at home, personal issues, etc. Money is always going to be an issue, whether you’re a student, or you have your career already. At some point in life, you’ll experience the feeling of needing and wanting more money that is completely out of your reach. Just realize that money comes and goes. Public transportation can also be a very uncomfortable thing for students. It’s dangerous, time consuming, and sometimes unreliable! Also, don’t let procrastination dull your shine. Use your perseverance and push forward! Go above and beyond, because in the end you’ll get such an amazing feeling that feels so much better than worrying last minute. You spend all of high school listening to your teachers and parents preparing you for what is to come in the near future. The truth is that there is only one way of truly learning, from experience.
