College Essay/1000 Words
I come from a family full of tall people, my dad is 6’5. My mom, and dad are both from Mexico from a state called Jalisco. I come from an alright size family, there are four brothers, and i'm the youngest but the tallest. For being the youngest, I usually had to get the hand-me-downs of my older brothers. I grew up struggling with money, because my parents got a divorce when I was around 8 years old. So, my mom would work almost everyday in a place called Las Casuelas Cafe, here in Palm Desert, only being able to win minimum wage and some tips.
The community I live in is a trailer park near Palm Desert Middle School on Portola. Its pretty quiet at all times, but, I like living there because i’m near the Civic Center

in Palm Desert, next to the aquatic center. Every Monday, and Wednesdays I go to the Civic Center and see loads of friends and play soccer. It’s basically my practice days for when I try out for the soccer team here at school. Hopefully, I will be able to make the team, because I have a lot of passion for the sport and I love watching it everyday.
The school I go to is very nice and brand new. But, there are various of other things I don’t like, for example, plenty of teachers, the strict rules, etc… Although, I feel like i'm in a comfortable environment, the classrooms aren’t too big, and I know plenty of people. However, If I do make the soccer team, I hope my teachers cut me some slack because i’m going to be performing for the soccer squad. But, if not, i’m going to have to do my things everyday so I can be able to graduate.
My family has made me want to be able to pursue my dreams of going to college. All of my brothers have graduated from a continuation school, like Summit, and Amistad. For all of their failures, it is making it mandatory for me to at least graduate from a high school like Palm Desert. Because, if I were applying for a job and saw that I graduated from such a great school like Palm Desert they would want to hire me, because Palm Desert is noticed as one of the best schools here in the Coachella Valley, and Riverside County.
My greatest aspiration is to become a professional soccer player.

Although, studying business in college is something else I would love to do. Business is a great field to major in, because so many job fields mostly have something to do with business. I have been inspired to do something with business because I have so much family in Mexico that deal with business everyday. I have an aunt and uncle who build very big houses in a place called Guadalajara. I see how they live, and it makes me want to do the same. That is why I want to pursue in business, because my family have inspired me to do something with my life. Showing me, even though you were brought in a family that didn't have much, you can always become somebody if you put your mind to

it.

One of the few talents that I have is that I can play soccer pretty well. I’m proud to say that I can play a sport that if I put my heart and mind to it, I can probably achieve something great. I love to watch soccer a lot. I’m from a Mexican family, so I keep track of the Mexican players that are in Europe, and see how well they’re doing in their teams. When I was young I would see my dad watching soccer almost everyday, it was either a Mexican team from Guadalajara, Mexico called Chivas, or the Mexican national team. So, i’ve been a diehard fan of those two teams.
I pursue this dream of being a soccer player so bad, because if I do become famous and make money, I would love to help all of my family out of Mexico all the way to the United States.

After I have all my family doing well, I would do many charity works, from kids with illnesses, to really poor people, from the U.S. and Mexico. After I felt that I have helped plenty of people, I would then focus on myself, and be investing in plenty of smart things, like electronics, and in real estate. My teacher, Dmac, was giving great advice in his classroom and told us to do great things invest in things, have money coming from plenty of areas not just from your work.
When I was younger, I would win plenty of accomplishments from soccer, like trophies, they weren’t just participation trophies, one year in U-12 I won best midfielder of the competition. That made me feel so good for myself, made me feel like I was a great factor for the team. Made me feel on top of the world, and if I would’ve kept playing soccer, since a young age, I guarantee right now I would be one hell of a

player.
I feel that I have the quality to become a professional player in the future. I know it isn’t as easy that you’re good, oh come here and play for this famous team. I know it's way more difficult than that. I have to put my heart and mind into the game. And get plenty of cardio to be able to play 90 minutes of a game and keep running like i’m not even tired. Scouts for teams search for kids who can survive the whole game and look like you don’t have any wear and tear after the game.
Soccer is relatable to me because I eat, sleep, play, and dream soccer. I’ve been into soccer since the small age, and to have the quality to be able to become a professional makes me proud. There was a kid that went to Palm Desert, and right now he is in Mexico, playing with the second division team of one of the most famous clubs in Mexico, called Chivas. This gives me motivation to become better and better each and every day because I played with him since we were small, he was always the goalie and I was the center forward.
