Who am I? Bold, Beautiful, and smart is who I am. I am sentimental, curious, understanding, witty, and sometimes difficult. I am the oddball from everyone else, and I like it. I look to others for approval instead of to myself. I am Itesha Moshea’ Lucy. Every year I learn more about myself and continue to learn and grow and adhere to the challenges I face, things that make me happy, and living life to my best ability. The challenges I face as a college student and in everyday life is what makes myself me. . Sometimes I shut down in my own doubt because life seems to get tough. In the end I know that I will succeed. It pushes me to be driven and I like the drive. School gives me a motivation when I think about obtaining my degree.
I always heard that college would be tough, but I went in to college with a set mind that I was going to finish strong and at the end be successful. I kept my head focused and always made sure to get my work done no matter how hard it was.
I believe that it is the responsibility of every student who has received an education in a state school to give something back to the state. This state contains many institutions that offer curricula of quality primary education and is home to several above-average secondary or college institutions as well. Students who receive the state's gift of education should show their gratitude by using that knowledge to improve their community.
I went back to school with the simple goal of getting my degree and moving ahead in my career. School, education and obtaining my degree were always important to me, since my profession requires a bachelor degree to qualify for national certification, it was a better excuses than any to finally go to college and get the degree I had always wanted. As an adult student I put a lot of pressure on myself to do everything to the best of my ability, to keep the bar high and to go above and beyond what I even expected of myself; many times over extending my self and doing too much.
Encouragement plays a significant role in my success. Without encouragement, the achievement won't come true. Juliet Ferking, the author of "A Drive to Achieve the Extraordinary" from This I Believe: Life Lessons, tells her story about how she succeeds at things that normal people don't. No matter what people say, she achieved big things in her life. Her only encouragement are those who actually supported her (Ferking). My connection to Ferking's essay is that without the encouragement that my family and friends are giving me, I wouldn't have the motivation to pursue my degree to have a good career. Even if other people ridicule my choice of degree, I won't succumb to their words.
I finally, after five years of pondering this, dove into college. I want to make a better life for myself. Be better able to support myself. I believe when absolutely needed, you can find the courage deep down to do what needs to be done. I believe people who love you will support you and others don’t matter. I believe you must do what you need to do to have self-confidence, and self-esteem. I believe you can find within yourself the courage to do something for yourself when it truly
This relates to the person I am today because I tend to keep helping other students rethink their decisions and make better judgment calls. This quality makes me proud because I know that no matter what happens, I can be a positive influence to those around me which is a great thing, in my opinion, the reason why is because if a new student see me doing what I need to do it well probably influence them to do the same thing and graduate on time.
The experience of the APEC Youth Science festival was incredible. It has had an enormous impact on me in many ways, changing the way I look at the world and connecting me with people and events far beyond my formerly limited experience. I am extremely glad to have had this opportunity. It was a wonderful experience on multiple levels. It challenged me and expanded me intellectually and socially. I feel that this experience has had an immense impact on me.
As I look to graduate, I become increasingly aware that I have my entire life to look forward to. Even though I will have struggles throughout my life, I still have my well being to fall back on. When all else fails, I am and hopefully always will be self-assured that I am here, healthy and able to bring myself through the worst of circumstances.
My conformed profile is Introvert, iNtuitive, Feeling and Perceiving (INFP). It is not easy to describe myself as I cannot see my person from outside but better still I am the one that knows me very well than anyone else. Based on my conformed type I am going to describe myself as detailed as I can. As I said earlier I have preference for intraverting, intuition, feeling and perceiving. Mostly people with such personality are referred to as “Mediators” and/or “Idealists”. This is true because I am the type that looks for the good in anything or any person no matter how bad it is. Other researchers also refer to the INFPs as “Dreamers” because of their wonder nature; they never stopped being fascinated. Having preference for INFP means that in business, and in school I am calm, reserved and because of that my colleagues
Noted authors, Brandon Chambers, is quoted saying, “If you are going to fear anything fear success. Think about what you are doing and when you succeed what life you will have.” There are several different reasons why I could stay home, work and not go to college; I could go to work every day and make more money for the house, it’s easier, and I would be less stressed. Now, on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education, make my family proud, and make myself proud. I am attending college for several different reasons. One reason is to further my education. I hate feeling like I don’t know something, I like being the person everyone comes to for information. Also, because I want to be better prepared for my major, I want to be better then the next person with the job credentials. I want to major in Social Work and Criminology. I dream to be a counselor or an clinical service social worker. I want to help people who need someone there for them someone who can guide them or even just talk too. Another reason is because I would be the first in I would be the first in my family to go to college. I feel in some type of way I am setting an example for my parents and my brother that they too can go back to school. Lastly is simply because I love school. I love knowing more and more each day. College is not for everyone, but I will be successful by grasping the benefits, preparing for the problems, taking heed from experts, and working on strategies to be successful.
My college education represents what I want my money income to be in future years ahead. Having an education is a privilege not all persons have. The biggest contributor to my success is my effort and persistence in school. I believe that in society the more educated and outgoing person you are makes you strive to success. This fall semester 2015, I proved myself that I can be an A student and that it all takes effort and dedication. I am satisfied with my grades this semester, but I know I can do better and need to improve in my management of time, test taking skills and English skills.
A person 's beginnings do not completely define a person, but it does serve as a permanent foundation from which their identity is built around. As children, we absorb every sight and experience like porous sponges. Family, religion, environment, culture -- all of these aspects slowly form the background of one 's identity. As an Asian American, this identity is very different from that of a native Chinese woman 's, for I have parts of both cultures within me. It is a unique identity which I believes acts as a double edged sword. Being born into two cultures is a wonderful in that one can be a part of two cultures, but it is also a very confusing to be "divided" between two very different cultures.
Motivation is a key to surviving college. If one cannot keep themselves motivated then one cannot survive college. The only reason why most humans survive anything is because they are motivated. Whether they are motivated to win a game, get a good job, or buy a car, it is the same fuel everyone needs to keep pushing forward. In college, there are struggles with paying for college, passing all your classes and getting a good grade. No one can make a person do well in school, do their assignments, study for test or work hard to achieve their goals. That person has to want that for themselves and then work hard to achieve it. I was able to overcome many problems and challenge myself in different aspects. At the very beginning of the year, I was very sensitive and having a bad experience meant a bad life to me. Later on, I started to realize what I am doing in school, and why I am here… I understood that life without ups and downs means you're died.
Hi, my name is Rob Geis and I am currently in grade 12. I have been at County High School for a year now; I joined at the start of 11th grade, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The school is great, the people are fantastic and the atmosphere is one that makes you actually want to go to school. Before I joined ASB I was studying at the Singapore American School for two years and prior to that I was at the International School of Kuala Lumpur for two years. I was born and raised here in Bombay city and grew up here.
