Best friend is often referred to as the person who is always there for you no matter what. Having a bad day you can call your best friend and most likely they will be the person who will cheer you up. Often we take for granted what a true friend is and sometimes there are troubles in the relationship that lead to a break up in the friendship. I lost a very dear friend in my lifetime, and I realized what it truly means to have a best friend when that person walked away from me.
When I was in Junior High School, I didn’t really make any friends since I am from Pakistan and I felt like I was an outsider living amongst mostly African Americans and Hispanic people. I was in 7th grade when I met a fellow Pakistani named Ayesha. She first came to

You had gangs, the popular kids who played sports, basically everyone belonged in a clique. I started hanging around with these girls from High School and I began to enjoy some fame because these girls were popular in school. Soon enough everyone in my high school knew me. I felt good since the spotlight was on me. But I was drifting away from Ayesha. I would ignore her calls and ditch her several times just to hang with these new girls I met. I wasn’t aware that I was pushing away Ayesha from my life. Instead of seeing Ayesha daily now we would see each other here and there. She was always there; she would always call and try to make plans no matter how much I avoided her. She would always check up on me to see if I was doing …show more content…
Her smile and hug brightened up my day and I then heard the news of her family moving to a different state. Her dad had landed a job in Texas so she was moving soon. My world came crashing down. Here I was, pushing her away and now when I realize what I had done, I hear that she will be going far away from me. The news didn’t sit well with me but there was nothing I could do. The day came and she moved to Texas. I was in tears, crying the whole day and I didn’t know how to get through
To me, being a good friend is staying by their side, even if they do something you do not like. Also, a good friend would back you up and do whatever they can get others to see you for who you really are, not just for that one bad thing you might have done. Though some may argue that in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George was being a good friend to Lennie by making his death as painless as possible, but it is proven that he in fact was not being a good friend to Lennie when George kills him because Lennie is his best friend and being all he has, George is going to now suffer that loss and Lennie did not kill her because he was trying to be mean it was just a bad accident.
Your friends help you through all the hard times, make you laugh and cheer you up when you are
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get a life." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought the same of him.
A friend is someone with whom we can share our feeling and life; a friend is always there for you when you need him or her. However, not all friends will truly fulfill the relationship. As we progress in life, we make friends, and during our difficult times
After a couple days apart, my anger slowly fades and I buy two bags of M&M's, her favorite candy as a peace treaty. I get to school early and go to meet her, I give her the M&M’s and she starts crying immediately I ask her what was wrong and she tells me her cousin died, a semi-truck hit him. I comfort her and tell her it’s going to be okay. I know that won’t fix it, I know the feeling of having someone so close to you taken, no words can fix it.
I belong to a community of first-generation Pakistani-American teenagers. It's a unique community composed of kids whose parents were born and raised in Pakistan, while we were born and raised on the opposite side of the world. In my instance, my father came to America to get his masters in engineering at the University of Detroit, and my mother moved to Houston with her family when she was in high school.
Dawson is the light of my life, he is my best friend. Without you I wouldn’t be as close to my brother as we are. Remembering you and thinking of him reminded me to work hard and get out of the hole that became my life. As we grew I had to do two homework assignments, two projects, pretty much two of everything because Dawson was unable to do homework by himself. That year I got held back because my reading levels were too low, I couldn’t ever read at a 2nd grade level in the 3rd grade. But after I failed a grade the social services started asking questions, and me and Dawson were taken away from our mother. Our new home was my loving grandparents’ house. Without you I would have never gotten away from her soul draining attitude. I was happy for a little awhile, I could finally be a child, I went to my first birthday party at 12 and I felt so out of place because I was years beyond my peers. Then one day I met a girl in counseling at my school, she had the same struggles and was mature like me when I was only 12. Her name is Sierra, we talked for hours about each other’s life and
Let go and examine what is the “true friend” means. According to dictionary, synonym for “true” is real, exact, and right. “Friend” is a personal relationship between two people or more. If we have this kind of person in our live, we perhaps have a hard time to let him or her go. A true friend may not always be together with us or talk to us daily, but that special person is always a live in our heart
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
Your best friends, unlike your social circle, will not only be complimentary, but will always give you honest feedback. Best friends are in contact with each other every day and both work toward their friendship goals to allow it to continue down a healthy path of friendship. When something serious happens in your life, your best friend will sympathize and empathize with you, and then help you figure out how to fix it and move on. Best friends will give you advice when you really need it and are honest about their opinions. Loyalty, honesty, and commitment are the top priorities of a growing best friendship. Friends in your social circle can not keep secrets from others, but you can confide in your best friends about anything and they know everything about your life: the good, the bad, and the
Everyone needs a best friend in her lifetime. She needs somebody that she can trust and go to with her problems. A best friend should be there for you all the time, no matter what the situation may be. In my case, I have known my best friend for my entire life. My best friend happens to be my younger sister, Brittany. She is only thirteen months younger than I am, so we are very close. Having Brittany as my best friend has made me into the person I am today. She has taught me how to trust people, how to resolve my problems, and how to open up and express my feelings.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
People cannot choose their identities from the day they were born; however, they can choose to bully others. For instance, my best friend is the one who got bullied when he was in middle school because my classmates thought he was poor and ugly. For me, he is one of the best people that I have ever met. He taught me everything about life, skills, and shared with me many secrets as a best friend did. The day he decided to leave this world forever made me surprised and realize that bullying is truly the scariest thing for some reasons: it comes to a person intentionally, it makes life unfair, and it brings people down even they are the optimistic ones.
To me, a friend means passion. A friend means forever existing love. A friend means many years of heartfelt times, but also grieving moments. When you just need that shoulder to cry on. Friends, or even more specifically, best friends, share a bond that can never be compared to anything else. It might twist. It might bend. It sometimes might even break, but that is when you separate the real friends, from the fake. A friendship is not a meaning, but a message, that only they can understand.
“A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24, World English Bible Version). This verse has always been embedded in my heart since I was old enough to understand the bible. I grew up carefully picking who I hung out with because the word ‘friend’ was used so often around me that it lost its true meaning. The word ‘friend’ is been mistaken for words like associates, colleagues, partners, classmates, and peers simply because people see each other each day of the week. I had no one to call my true friend and even up until the day I moved to America, I had only called one person my friend. That friendship, however, ended just like the suffix ‘-end’ ends the word friend. True friends
