Up to this point in my life, I have received countless pieces of advice while also giving them to other people. Although it is very difficult to choose, the one advice that struck out to me the most was from my mother when she said, “ The purpose of our life is not meant to be filled with pleasures and prosperity; we were made to help one another and make a difference to the world in which we live in by filling the world with hope. There are so many opportunities for us in our human nature to be boastful and take tremendous pride in our endeavors and accolades. In today’s society, it is very effortless to judge someone based on how they act or appear. Those who are quick to judge tend to be unnoticing of their own faults. They are blinded by all their pride and blame others for their own mistakes that they have made. On the other hand, those who are humble tend to treat others with kindness and admits his mistakes. By being humble, it has allowed me to act kinder and considerate towards others, and I hope to influence and pass these traits onto others. By being a role model, I hope to inspire and motivate those around me in a positive way and to be a leader of their own. By setting an example for others and then following it, it constantly encourages me to keep living a life of positivity and moral character. As a current 3rd degree black belt, it has set a high expectation for my actions. Because all the junior belts look up to me, I try my best to teach them showing physical and mental discipline.
