I knew at a young age what I wanted to be when I grew up- a traveling fashion designer. I know, how cliché for a small town girl like me to dream of but I was not going to let that hold me back. After all, my beloved grandmother, Vera accomplished her dream by being our town’s seamstress for over 30 years. This is where my childhood inspiration first sprouted, in the home of my maternal grandparents. I was the young age of 9 when my grandma, Vera began passing down her inventive skills to me. That was the first year I began making numerous skirts for myself, with her assistance of course. Ever since then, I have been determined to fulfill my dreams by attending the Art Institute of Atlanta as a fashion major.
Now at the age of 17, I sell small clothing items such as pocket T-shirts, scarves and skirts to my peers at school. In search of additional retail experience, I volunteer at a local thrift store, designing the windows and repairing clothing items. I have been known to put buttons on coats and hand sew small rips. The days that I do not volunteer at the thrift store, I help my now aged grandmother with her business, alternating clothes and learning from her.

It has been my number one priority to maintain a grade point average of a 4.0 to increase the likelihood of getting accepted into The Art Institute of Atlanta, as an incentive I was recently recognized as an honor student. Once my senior year came into sight, I felt highly motivated to attend Georgia Northwestern Technical Collage dual enrollment classes available at my school. My FBLA leader, Alecia Kelley quickly realized my potential. Mrs. Kelley encouraged me to participate in our town’s small business program called Biz Builders. After attending this class, I soon realized my sales began improving and I had been inspired to develop my business plan as a fashion
She is widely credited with developing the style of interior decoration known as “American Country Style”. Sister never knew her grandmother because she died shortly after she was born, but she recalls her grandparent’s house as “large, dark and musty and full of polar bear rugs, moose heads and antlers everywhere”. Her parents were wealthy and spent a considerable amount of money on trips to Europe, in hope that the exposure of art and architecture would improve their children’s education. Her style has been called baroque and freewheeling.
Looking back on my childhood, I remember all the times that I would visit my Grandma Susie at her house. She always had a sewing task in the process and I would always ask her if I could help her. She would let me do little things like sew a square or roll up the yarn.
The American Academy of Art possesses an interesting background. Frank Young Sr. dreamt of creating a school that would “provide the best instructors, attract the best students, and neglect nothing that will help them to build successful careers.” In 1923, Young decided to turn his dreams into reality, thus creating The American Academy of Art (AAA). The school was originally designed as a school to offer Associate's Degrees in commercial arts, but with the help of the current owner and president of AAA, Richard H. Otto, the ‘Bachelor of Fine Arts Program’ was established in 1992 (“About the Academy”).

I would love to live life as a photographer.
Being a successful woman entrepreneur is an achievement women have been fighting for years to accomplish, a struggle most men won’t ever know. Not only being ranked number 5 on Forbes but becoming such a successful woman entirely in her career. I aspire to become a makeup artist, with my own salon created by my own rules. Even though my path of studies is completely different than that of Sandberg, I find myself connecting in so many ways with many aspects in this book.

College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.

When I first went off to college I had no idea what I wanted to major in, all I knew was that I wasn’t interested in any majors I was familiar with. I decided to major in psychology, what’s more interesting than getting to know the human mind, apparently I wasn’t interested at all and my grades show for it. It was only when I joined a modeling troupe at Winston Salem State University by the name of Epiphany that I realized that I’m in love with fashion. I loved styling the outfits I wore for the “fashion shows” and the outfits I wore on campus that helped me get nominated for best dressed freshman on campus. After being nominated I decided to look for ways to make fashion my career.
In my degree plan, I realize that I will have to complete my general education classes including English, math, science, history, and the humanities. These classes have the ability to prepare me for the rigorous work that I will face within my core business classes. Program requirements vary based on each institution’s own specific curriculum. However common core courses in business administration programs are mostly centered on financial accounting, business law, economics, finance, organizational behavior, business management, marketing, human resource management and operations management . Through research of my career path, I realize that a Masters in Business Administration would be even more useful because it has the potential to attract potential investors. Median yearly wages for people with Business Management degrees range from $46,00-$115,000 . The duties of owning a fashion boutique include managing the daily operations of the store, all finances, and maintain the vision of the store

In this paper in I will try to provide information on how I came about choosing my career choice in the fashion industry, from academic excellence, life-long learning, collaboration, openness, integrity, and service.
