How do you spell funny? I spell it C A R O L (a little flattery won't hurt). I’ve been watching you since I was six, and have been inspired by your comedy. I would be delighted if I could visit and watch you work. Meeting you would be a highlight of my life so far, and I’m sure I would learn more than I can imagine. Not to mention, it would help further define my career path.
Ever since I was old enough to talk, I’ve loved making people laugh. When I was six I received a Lucy Show disk for Christmas, and it introduced me to the world of Lucille Ball. My brother and I spent afternoons watching it on our tube TV. We searched for more Lucille Ball and ended up watching every episode of I Love Lucy. When you came on as her roommate in The Lucy Show, I had to know who you were.

Just like Lucille Ball was your mentor, I would love to be one of the people you mentor. Someday when I’m older, I would love to be a coach for someone who is budding into a talented entertainer, too. Job shadowing you might help me sort out what my job might actually be. Because I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had trouble narrowing down my dreams into one single job ambition. I could come closer to determining my ideal career by seeing how you work and deciding if that’s what I want to do.
Visiting you in your working environment would be a cherished experience. If you do respond, that may be just more excitement than I can take, so be cautious.... If you do indeed want to excite me until I explode, my address is 300 New Haven Rd, Floyd, VA 24091, I don’t have a phone, but you could call either of my parents at (540)285-0012 (Mom) or (540)285-0020(Dad). My email is happygirlellablue@gmail.com, and my mom’s email is hariberzins@gmail.com . I could also contact you on Skype or something similar if necessary. If this all comes together, I will be
The Entertainment Industry is an expanding industry with numerous career opportunities especially for the quick learning students in today’s world. I chose to study the entertainment industry because I have always had a passion for it. I grew up with music always playing on the radio and if the radio was off, the television was tuned into some show. I know many people listen to music and watch television all the time, but there is so much more to this industry. Being so passionate has led me to studying specific things in the industry and learning the ins and outs of it, which is helping me to find a potential career. There are many people in the industry that I look up to and one person, who has made it in particular, is Debra Rathwell.
In conclusion, Merrill Markoe portrayed high comedy using witty humor along with situational irony in the short story “A Conversation With My Dogs”. She does this while also reaching the moral of the story, which is that with some people or animals you have to be super specific or else they won’t understand what you are trying to say. I have experienced this with some people, including my mom who is often focused on her work. The combination of witty humor and situational irony makes the audience
Lucille Ball, a beloved Hollywood actress, overcame difficulties in childhood and adulthood, becoming a successful actress and studio head. She portrayed the relatable character “Lucy” in “I Love Lucy,” making her an American Icon.

At the start of the semester, my oblivious state of nature associating with the Chinese culture reached an unacceptable level. Implementing a necessary change, I decided to educate myself on different cultures starting with China. I failed to ponder that such a rich, deep culture existed outside America. Encompassed by this country’s unique yet suffocating melting pot culture, my outlook believed ideas such as uniformity between American Chinese food and Authentic Chinese food. After this course, my bigot perspective widened as I witnessed diversity in the world. Before this class, when I thought of Chinese food, my connotation jumped to thoughts associated with chop suey, but as I progressed my education, my mindset gradually pondered foods like steamed buns or “New Year Cakes” with authentic Chinese food.
A hearing loss can present many obstacles in one's life. I have faced many issues throughout my life, many of which affected me deeply. When I first realized that I was hearing-impaired, I didn't know what it meant. As I grew older, I came to understand why I was different from everyone. It was hard to like myself or feel good about myself because I was often teased. However, I started to change my attitude and see that wearing hearing aids was no different than people wearing glasses to see.
Television’s rise in popularity throughout the fifties saw the emergence of the situation comedy, a style that captivated audiences by presenting a story with a beginning, a middle, and a happy end. One of the most popular of these shows, I Love Lucy, continues to appeal to both young and old some forty years later -- and counting. For most people, the answer to how I Love Lucy continually and effectively draws viewers to the screen is that "It’s funny." There is more to this funny show than meets the eye.
Authors Firoozeh Dumas and Mawi Asgedom both tell their stories of moving to America. In Funny in Farsi, Dumas talks about her experiences moving to America. “Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead.” – Lucille Ball. We grew up watching reruns with our parents and grandparents, and eventually learned to love her ourselves. With witty lines and hilarious mishaps, she became the first female comedian lead in a male dominated society. We knew her for the role of Lucy Ricardo in the 1950’s hit TV show I Love Lucy. There are countless articles and list on the internet of jokes that only this certain group will find funny. While, some people may argue that there are jokes that everyone will find funny the fact is that it is not always the case. Jokes are largely based on the social conditions of the group of people that are listening to the joke. Take the category of “dad jokes”, which are the cheesy jokes that dads are known to tell, to a group of kids they may seem like the funniest things in the world but to teenagers they may seem annoying. However, it is not just age groups that define if a joke is a hit or miss it also depends on a person’s culture and even within a larger culture where the person is from. A person from the Midwest might find jokes funny that people from the South find to be insulting.
Humor and laughter can benefit every person's mental health. According to Melinda Smith and Jeanne Segal, who are the authors in the Help Guide Organization, " Laughter makes us feel good. And the good feeling that we get when we laugh remains with us even after the laughter subsides. Humor helps us keep a positive, optimistic outlook through difficult situations, disappointments, and loss." They are right, laughter make us feel good even when the laughter subsides. The reason why it still feels good even when the laughter is gone is because our minds keep replaying the scenario over and over again so that our mind will be able to relax, reduce the stress and the tension that is in our mind and our body. They also said that humor helps us overlook
