Throughout my childhood, my parents constantly had to deal with me deconstructing different machines and devices just so I could put it back together again. Being able to take a machine apart and rebuild it is a feeling that I have accomplished a goal even though I just put the parts in the same place where they were before. I was good at math because math is the language of numbers and is communicated similarly throughout the world, regardless of the language. However, engineering needs a lot of math to do programming, physics and other science courses. I am confident that there is inventions that have not been discovered yet in this world that would help us make day-to-day life easier. Sometimes when I sit by myself, I wonder if I could create an invention for the complex problems we face in our daily life; I believe that I am able to create one, but I am not fully aware of the problem I need to fix yet. As a well-focused and creative individual, I am positive about becoming a creative and valuable part of the global team working to develop and improve the process of engineering. In my career, I am most interested in increasing the efficiency of designing machines and manufacturing through technology to expand the creativity and productivity. I believe that success, as an engineer in these days, requires technical competence and a combination of management, leadership, communication and business skills. My parents were a big part of me choosing mechanical engineering. My father did not finish college because he had to get a job at a young age, and my mother got married when she was in college, so she had to take off and live with my father. My parents have always pushed me to be better than they were. They knew that if I wanted to be successful I needed to go to college. In highschool, they always made me put my education before anything else. My parents didn’t go to college so they would always tell me to not make that mistake because their lives could have been easier if they would of just invested a few more years into their education. They would also tell me about all the opportunities that missed out on because they decided not to further their education.
The Ultimate Career Goal: I am extremely passionate about marine and wildlife ecosystems and all their inhabitants and have a desire to work in a career that allows me to work closely within these ecosystems as well as allowing myself to educate those that surround me about the importance of science. My ultimate career goal is to work as a laboratory and field technician for a reputable company or organisation.
They tied education to success and my dad always voiced that he desired better for me than he had for himself, even though he became quite successful despite not having a high school diploma. Consequently, it was quite natural for me to pursue college after high school, as that was the subject of numerous discussions in my household.
I was raised in an encouraging household where both of my parents greatly valued education. Although they were high school graduates, neither could afford to attend college; a combination of family and financial woes ultimately halted their path. As a result, my parents frequently reminded me that getting a good education meant better opportunities for my future. To my parents, that seemed to be the overarching goal: a better life for me than the one they had. My parents wanted me to excel and supported me financially and emotionally of which the former was something their parents were not able to provide. Their desire to facilitate a change in my destiny is one of many essential events that contributed to my world view.
Throughout my life I have been motivated by my family to do well in my schooling. When I was youhnger i watched as my brother took his hard work from our small town and took that same drive with him as he went on to further his ediucation at college. That really motivated me to work harder in school so that when it came to be my time to go to college I will be able to do the same as he did.
Both my parents have a college degree, so they always stress the importance of a good education. They provide me and my sister with everything we need to have a good learning environment.
The knowledge acquired in schools and colleges, I believe is not an education, but the means to it. It is this belief that made me a student to the end of my days, the obvious direction being curiosity to wards exploration.
...1930s, engineers were able to accomplish so much with so little. Imagine the possibilities today with our current resources and technology. Although it does take an optimist to recognize potential, an engineering mindset is the key to applying a theoretical concept to daily life. Over my career as a student, I believe that I have done well academically. I was the valedictorian of both my junior high and high school classes. During high school, I was involved with engineering Project Lead the Way classes every year, so I was well prepared to start earning my degree in aerospace engineering at Purdue this year. This first semester I am taking mostly basic classes such as calculus, chemistry, and an intro engineering course in order to get the required credits, but I am also in a computer graphics and spatial analysis course in which we have learned to use CATIA and use proper product data management.
