When presented with the opportunity to leave the world in a better place compared to when you entered it is an opportunity that cannot be passed up. A career as an engineer allows me to achieve my goal in life, which is to ultimately help people. I decided in my sophomore year of high school that I wanted to become a Chemical Engineer. Engineers help people and change the world, which is exactly what I dream of doing. I will strive to learn to design and analyze products and systems that transform raw materials into materials like life-saving medicines, innovative renewable energy sources, and more. All of these things improve products and enhance lives. I want to have an impact on the world by working to improve the quality of people's lives. Most items used by people everyday have needed chemical engineers to produce them. I can help end starvation, disease and poverty as well as help to save the environment by developing alternative technologies to combat acid rain, lead pollution and the greenhouse effect. Chemical engineers have also led the way in creating innovative materials that have been used to deliver drugs more effectively. The possibilities to do …show more content…
I have narrowed my top schools to either Villanova or Lehigh. Both schools possess a great reputation in engineering, however, are rather expensive. I am already thinking about my situation after graduating, and by attending a university in Pennsylvania, I am given the ability to make connections worldwide by taking advantage of studying near a city like Philadelphia. I would love to attend Villanova University, which is located right on the outskirts of Philadelphia, and has a strong reputation for business, nursing, and engineering. They have the connections that can place me in a company where I can have an impact and achieve my goals and
The Ultimate Career Goal: I am extremely passionate about marine and wildlife ecosystems and all their inhabitants and have a desire to work in a career that allows me to work closely within these ecosystems as well as allowing myself to educate those that surround me about the importance of science. My ultimate career goal is to work as a laboratory and field technician for a reputable company or organisation.
When deciding on what career best suited me, I found myself considering my role as a global citizen. As an inhabitant of this earth, I felt that it was my duty to advocate for its protection. I therefore decided to study Environmental Engineering. By generating ways for humans to creatively coexist with our environment I will be helping to create a more sustainable world as a whole. Similarly, this idea of making decisions based on the needs of my community has been prevalent throughout my life. I have participated in many volunteer groups including National Honor Society along with lending my knowledge to those who require help through tutoring and in-class aid. I plan on continuing to take an active leadership role in my community through a profession in environmental engineering and strong sense of environmental stewardship.
As a young woman growing up in an urbanized setting and attending public schools all of my life, when the time came to start planning and searching for colleges, I searched for schools that I felt fit my persona, that I would be comfortable attending for some of the most integral years of my life. My search included schools such as Temple University, and Pennsylvania State University, higher education institutions that allowed me to challenge myself, but at the same time would put me in a setting where I would be with others just like myself, fitting into the standard American university fashion.
Money and fame do not motivate my goals. Engineering in all forms is a field of innovation and invention. Aspirations of any great engineer should be to introduce to the world a new idea, product, or service that will make people happier and the environment safer. Success in these challenges is a reward greater than any dollar amount or public recognition. Engineers bring societies to new levels of civilization through their advancements in technology and discovery. The challenge to provide people with ever-increasing standards while at the same time feeding the population with ideas of what could be attracts my imagination, intelligence, and curiosity far more than any other career option. The engineering field embraces these challenges.
Engineering is the application of scientific, economic design and a wide range of other specialized fields of engineering. As an engineer, there are four major different areas of engineering work that I can concern about, that is chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Beyond this four, sources separate to other main branches. Based on the electrical engineering is concerned with the basic forms of energy that run the world, there is a hopeful future in taking this major as my direction of future. However, what exactly is the benefit of this major; am I suppose to choose this major; what kinds of job opportunities that I am able to get and various of other questions are what I concerned the most.
On the first day at my new job right after graduation, the Vice President asked me why I became a structural engineer. My answer was “I want to contribute to society and my local community using my strengths in numbers and analytical thinking.” This answer has never changed to this day.
In the 21st century engineering has a vital impact on our lives. It is almost everywhere you look. It gives a chance to make the world a safer, better and more exciting place to live. This fills me with a desire to be a part of this.
I have always enjoyed studying physics and math and currently I got an opportunity to acquire more knowledge about these subjects in university. Engineering and technology unfortunately are not the easiest areas of study; despite that I have chosen engineering as my pathway subject. Engineering is highly requested around world and it appeals me because of its significance in any field. Engineering is important in application of scientific theories to any practical, it is also important in introduction of solution for real world problems such as nuclear waste, housing construction and so on. I particularly look forward to studying chemical engineering. One of the main attractions of chemical engineering for me is its importance in wide range
The idea of seeing a project come to life is what provokes my desire to become an engineer. In the past, engineers have created the greatest historic innovations such as health technology. My passion for chemical engineering is seeing how the fundamental theories of Chemistry, Physics and Math can be applied to create an innovative industry. In very concrete ways, engineers aspire greatness in society; they save lives, work to prevent disease and protect our planet. I believe that I can never seek true pleasure from my work unless it serves for the betterment of humanity. Consequently, I believe curiosity and the ability to question is crucial to desire to pursue engineering. I prefer to question the variability of things ...
The key objective of chemical engineers is to devise and troubleshoot processes for the production of chemicals, fuels, foods, healthcare, biologicals, and many other commercial and industrial products. They are generally employed by manufacturing plants to optimize
Throughout my school career I have always loved chemistry. In Chemistry there was always a sense that there was more, there was always something new and exciting to be discovered and theories to be proven (or even disproven). Chemistry was the main subject with a real practical aspect to it during school and it is this, along with my genuine fascination with the subject, which fuels my desire to study it further.
As an engineer, you can expect to have an excellent salary compare to other careers. Another interesting thing of being a mechanical engineer is that you are constantly being challenged. Mechanical engineers are expected to be creative and develop products that meet customer’s specifications. You will constantly face challenges and struggles. One of the best advantages is that your potential for career growth is very high. As you gain more experiences from working on many different projects, your career pathway increases. Mechanical engineering is one of those fields that require a lot of math and physics. With the experiences you have, you can most likely to work
What exactly is a chemical engineer? Many would say that it is simply a "chemist who builds things" or an "engineer who makes chemicals. However, neither of these statements is completely true. The term "chemical engineer" is not meant to actually describe what it is a chemical engineer does, but to describe what sets it apart from the other branches of engineering: civil, mechanical, and electrical. On average, chemical engineers are numerically the smallest but also the highest paid. It is not a profession the must dwell on the past for comfort and support, for its greatest accomplishments are still yet to come.
Everyone wants to be something from a doctor to a stylist, I want to be a mechanical engineer. This is something I have always wanted to do in my life, the opportunities that exist in this field can lead to anything. Mechanical engineers are able to do many tasks in the job environment from designing, to developing, and also building. In addition, as new companies are starting up they will need mechanical engineers to help them develop their product. All of the engineering fields have great pay, that is able to support my family and also my parents. In the work environment of a mechanical engineer, they usually are around an office and sometimes where their product is being used at. To be able to apply for a mechanical engineering job you
This change makes me involve in more other activities and eventually leads me to a successful Engineer. Education brings me a healthy body and mind throughout my life. Finally a career that embraces a program of continuous lifelong learning will ensure that I have a successful career. Because every moment of time, everywhere, under all circumstances something is being added to our previous attainments. My Career will be filled with many proud accomplishments, earning respect from colleagues, friends and a career that is fun and exciting.
