My family and I were traveling to the Bahamas in search of a new island called Cobra Island that was supposedly off shore about 150 miles. The plane finally landed into the small island of the Bahamas. All I could see for miles was the nice beautiful Atlantic Ocean. As soon as we got off the tiny turboprop plane, we were greeted by our wonderful tour guide named Xavier. Xavier was the best tour guide you were able to get throughout the whole island.
Xavier took my family and I to our hotel that we are staying at.. We went to the front desk, got our keys, and went on up to our room. We all unpacked and all I could think about was discovering the island? It was right around suppertime so we all went out to eat at a old fish restaurant. We were done eating, so Xavier took us to beautiful pier. He told us that this was the place that we would begin our journey. We all talked for a little bit thinking about what was going to happen tomorrow. Then we went to sleep.
“Wakeup, it's time to go catch our boat.” My mom said. So I rushed to get up. I could barely get any sleep last night because of how bad I wanted to go. I hurriedly got dressed and brushed my teeth. I

stood next to the front door trying to urge my family to move faster. Then I heard a knock on the door. Which actually frightened me because I was not expecting somebody to be knocking at 5:30 in the morning. I looked through the peephole and saw that it was just Xavier. He asked my parents if we were sure we wanted to go. We all were very sure we wanted to go. So as we went down the elevator to the main floor, he looked very worried. Although, that didn’t stop us from going on this boat ride. As he drove my whole family across the tough road to the pier, all I was thinking about was how awesome it would be to find this island. We arrived at the pier I saw the large boat sitting in the still water waiting for us to get on board. As my family and I got out of the old 1990s Jeep and walked toward the boat, the Captain came out and met us. We talked to him for a second and told him where we wanted to go. His face got frightening. He asked us if we definitely wanted him to take us there. I looked at my parents and they both nodded their heads. We all walked onto the boat and started our journey out to the ocean. With it being cold and quite out, I fell asleep. I heard a very big loud boom of thunder which made me wake up very suddenly.
I looked around and had seen that it started raining. Which I knew that this wasn’t a good thing that we were in big danger if it got worse and it did. It was just five minutes later that the rain had started to mix in with hail. Then, it was another 5 minutes whenever the lightning and thunder had gotten worse and the wind started getting more fierce. We all were told by the Captain that we needed to get into cover right now. Which the only cover was under the life deck. So one by one we climbed into the tiny hole to be safe. This was whenever water starting dripping from the floor. It gradually started to increase. Finally, water started rushing in, I knew that this was it. This is whenever I blacked
out. I woke up. Sand was all over my face. I had no clue where I was. This was until I realized that I was on a beach and that all of my family I had no clue what was going on. I landed up on my feet as fast as I could, realizing that nobody was on the island with me, at least that I knew of. I looked out into the very murky dark ocean looking for any evidence of my family. All I saw was sail of the boat slowly sinking down to the deep depth of the cold ocean night. I sat there. Not knowing what I was going to do, I fell on my knees and starting crying. I kept on crying until I heard some leaves behind me crunch. I knew it wasn’t the wind, so I looked back. With my own two eyes I saw a big slimy Cobra like creature probably 25 feet long slithering to me. My eyes got wide. I ran towards and opening not knowing that this was. This snake like figure kept coming towards me. I looked closely at this snake, that is whenever I realized that it was a Cobra. I Put the two and two together and realized that I was on Cobra Island.
The Bahamas is an island in the North Atlantic Ocean maybe one day, you can experience how beautiful it is.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a giant cruise ship in front of my eyes.It took two whole days but we finally reached Florida where we went Rock Gliding. It’s where you have to get past a giant, rocky maze. The winner gets to cans of ice cream.Though my sister won,we all shared the ice cream.Next stop, the Bahamas!!!In the bahamas we went parasailing up 700 ft above water level,it was so much fun.The boat driver even let us touch the smooth, light blue water with our feet. Finally, we ended with a relaxing dolphin swim on the soft, delicate beach of Jamaica.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
Out of all the trips I have taken, Cancun was definitely the best. It was 2013 and I was in fifth grade. I had known about the trip for weeks and I was so amped up for the plane ride, for the hotel, and especially the ocean. I was in science and the teacher was getting mad because I was distracting all the kids by jittering all over the place. Finally I heard my name called over the intercom and I leaped for joy and ran out of the classroom. From school we drove to the Iowa Airport, got our tickets and loaded onto the plane. Our first plane took us to Chicago, Illinois where we boarded a plane , at the O’Hare International Airport, departing for Cancun,Mexico. The second plane was very lengthy, I tried to sleep but I didn’t actually fall asleep
It was a warm rainy June night the humidity was high which made it even harder to breathe on the crammed boat. My family was asleep on the constantly rocking boat suddenly the boat shook, but my family was still fast asleep. I couldn’t seem to fall asleep so I got up and stepped out on the cold wet steel boats upper deck to get some air. When I got outside I realized that it was pouring bucket sized rain. I saw increasingly large waves crash furiously against the lower deck. Hard water droplets pelted my face, I could taste the salt water in my mouth from the spray of the ocean. Suddenly A massive wave slammed hard against the ship and almost swallowed the boat. Wind gusts started kicking up. I held onto the rail grasping it as if it were my prized possession. Suddenly I was blown
The King Cobra, or Ophiophagus hannah, belongs to the class of Reptilia, and lives in eastern China in the dense highland forests. The King Cobra is widely known for the hood that it has to warn off creatures when it feels threatened or in danger. If the animal/thing does not heed the warning, it gets a venomous bite from it. The venom in the fangs blocks nerve signals from the brain, paralyzing the creature, then dies if not treated immediately. The King Cobra also has a secret weapon: camouflage. It may not be that secret, but the Cobra easily blends into the surrounding floor. Any unaware prey that happens to walk by, might soon die.
“Yep,” I said, not very confidently. I watched as the boat skidded over the water and suddenly came to a stop. I sat in the boat as the waves rocked it up and down. I thought, better get this done quick.
I was having a blast, a whole summer being at home with my friends. Until one day I got more that I bargained for.My friend, Caleb, and I were out surfing one day waiting for the tide to start rollin in. Then all of the sudden Caleb as knocked of his board. As I look around all I could see was the icy blue ocean take the appearance of a battle ground. I remember the scream that destroyed my soul. The shaking of the water coming from a man fighting for his life. I remember the words coming out of my mouth “Hey we should go surfing at Buffels bay today, it 's pretty goddamn rad there”. The feeling of guilt that took over my body, along with the fear of what will happen next. I remember the haunting image of a man missing his leg being taken away by the metal angel we call helicopters. A week later Caleb was alive, but was not left untouched like me. He was missing his left leg from the knee down, he was attacked by a great white shark. This was the moment that my life changed. I could never focus on the nightmare inducing screams, but I focused that how incredibly lucky I am to have walked away from this whole event unharmed. I focused on the fact that two months later Caleb was back into the ocean, something I could never
Halfway up it was beginning to look doubtful, the wind was picking up and everyone was getting out rain gear to prepare for the storm. I voiced my doubts to Phil and he said we might as well keep going until the lighting got too close. So we did. The thunder grew in volume and the echoes magnified the noise to a dull roar sometimes. Then suddenly it began to ebb. The wind died down and lightening came less frequently. I exchanged relieved looks with Phil after a bit, but kept the pace up--I didn’t want to take chances. Eventually it hit us, but by then it was nothing more then a heavy rain. We kept moving, if slower, and made it over the ridge with no other problems. That night I enjoyed the meal a little more and slept a little deeper realizing how much is important that easily goes unnoticed until something threatens to take it away.
After a few hours of exploring the boat was departing from the island back over to the city. I handed the guy my ticket and took my seat. after waiting ten minutes for everyone to load and take there seats the boat went tut tut and started it way back to the dock. Thank god the waves were a lot smaller then they were on the way there. It was a very fun time on the Island i would love to go back again. Maybe one day we could go together, and adventure the beautiful island
Then my dad through the life jackets and screamed at us to put them on, we did what we were told. Then, we did what we were told and many of the other passengers, some were crying and others were holding onto each other in fear. As we made our way to the upper deck we’ve been told that only women and children were aloud on the lifeboats and that frighten me and my whole family, we started to cry as my dad had hugged us tight. As the 1st and 2nd class passengers were being boarded onto the lifeboats and lowered into the icy waters of the
Mack was walking to food basics, when all of a sudden, a man dressed in black pulled him into an alleyway.
I was smacked in the face by a gust of hot, humid Texas air as I found my way off the bus. The once brisk morning was getting hotter by the second. My friend Kristi and I looked towards our left and there she was, the Norwegian Sea. The cruise liner that we would be on for the next week. It was the biggest ship I had ever seen up close. Ten stories high and nearly 1000 feet long. It had an intimidating presence that took one's breath away.
Suddenly, I snapped awake. It really was the day of my party, and it really was pouring down rain outside. I trudged out of my room and had breakfast, all the while staring gloomily at the storm raging outside.
While walking by the shore I was amazed by the soft smooth sand beneath my feet, it seemed like all the worries I had throughout the year were finally erased. There was a rock facing the ocean that it thought was really cool, so I decided to settle there for a moment to appreciate the view, I closed my eyes for a second letting myself comforted by the sounds of the ocean, the sounds the waves were making against the rocks was impressive. Spending a few more minutes on the rock I decided to go back. Tying to help my parents for making breakfast, they sent me and my brother to get bread, and a few croissants at the bakery. My brother was driving while I was still wondering the landscape, I thought it was interesting how this island contained a mix between mountains, and beaches. At the table, conversations were spontaneous and positives, I forgot how fun breakfast could be when spending with family. That day we had has a plan to go to the beach, my mom could guess what me and my father had in mind. It was scuba diving and hunting with harpoons, but before we had to first buy the necessary equipment, and study the fishes we could hunt, since some were protected, and review the fishes that were edible. Finally done with preparation we headed to the beach, me and my dad waited that day for so long, being a big fan of hunting, I was quite impressed by the number of variety the Mediterranean Sea could provide, also what really shocked
