First of all, I just want to say that I had a wonderful time at your event this past Saturday. I am really glad that I came out and experienced this event. I will for sure use some of the things that were taught. I am also reaching out to you because I know we talked a bit about me trying to do my clinical teaching in that district for the spring semester. I know over the summer I gave my advisors some choices of school that I wanted to do my clinical teaching at but Spring Branch was not one of them. I really do not know if it would be too late to change them because I do not know where they are in this process. I would love to come do my clinical teaching in your district. Since I am doing all levels physical education I will have to do
I am very honored to have been part of this organization for the 2013-2014 school year and I plan to participate next year as well. At the end of the event I always feel so inspired and ready to make even more a difference in the lives of others, whether through volunteering, my future profession, or other organization at the University of Northern Iowa. I have learned so much from the Miracle Kiddos and their families, and plan to carry those life lessons with me as I pursue a career in the exercise/health science field.
Clinical Supervision is the life wire of any health are professional. It is the on the job teaching that takes place between the supervisor and supervisee. It is a lifelong learning used for personal and professional development which is useful both in nursing education and clinical practice. Its benefit cannot be overemphasized as it is known to improve job satisfaction and prevention of stress /burnout. Supervision is important because it allows the novice to gain knowledge, skill and commitment.
To become a Health Certified Health specialist it takes an individual who is passionate about giving back to their community and making it a healthier and safer environment; it requires a competent individual that is academically trained to assess and determine what is the best for the environment and for the public. According to the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (n.d.) under the CHES exam eligibility section, it states, in order to become a Certified Health Education Specialist an individual must hold a “bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education”(para. 2). In addition, one must provide an official transcript that ensures the individual has completed a major in health education or “25 semester hours or 37 quarter

Overall, I found this to be a great experience, as it allowed me to see more of what pediatric physical therapy entails. I like how therapy is not about just having the child perform an exercise 10 times, but the therapist makes it enjoyable for the child. However, I never really had an interest in development pediatrics and always felt if I did do pediatrics, I would want to be more on the sports and orthopedic end. Although I would not mind spending more time in a developmental pediatric clinic to see if I would grow more of interest, for I do love working and seeing kids
When I saw the job posting for Clinical Counselor with a specialization in treating with youth, I knew I had to take this chance. I am a hard-working and optimistic Psychologist with some years of years of experience in human services and I am ready for the continuous work in this area! I am currently looking for an opportunity to continue working within the industry and know my skills; experiences would be a great fit for the position, and for the “CHSi” team.
On my first clinical rotation outside of 5w, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital, I had the pleasure of visiting the OR. My last week of clinical rotation, I got the opportunity to witness two different cases. I saw a hemorrhoidectomy, and a Laparoscopic colectomy. Although I only had an opportunity of witnessing the hemorrhoidectomy in the middle of the procedure, both procedures were quite invasive. There were both very interesting to watch.
Hospital, only one word but somehow is thought of in a bad connotation. No one wants to be in the hospital and no one has a great time, however there are people who can make your stay better. Nurses can make your stay comfortable and relaxed or painful and scary. Having a caring nurse can make your experience exceptional while having an awful nurse can make everything worse. No one wants the uneducated nurse, and there is something we can do about. Nurses are “born” at the very first nursing class they attend and grow with each clinical. Clinical is where nursing students can practice as nurses in a specific area under the supervision of a licensed nurse. These clinicals are essential to the development of nursing students and need to be educational.

No matter the path one takes in life, it is crucial to find a way to serve others in the community or society. Integrating this attitude into my future, I plan to always remain an active and involved member in the PTAA. When reflecting back on all the professors and mentors in my life, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without each and every one of them. I believe placing student nurses in the clinical setting is vital in becoming competent nurses. Every experience the student experiences during their placement has an educative nature therefore, it is important for the students to take some time to reflect on these experiences. A specific situation that stood out to me from my clinical experience was that; I didn’t realize I had ignored the patient’s pain until I was later asked by the nurse if the patient was in any pain.
This reflective essay will discuss three skills that I have leant and developed during my placement. The three skills that I will be discussing in this essay are bed-bath, observing a corpse being prepared for mortuary and putting canulla and taking it out. These skills will be discussed in this essay using (Gibb’s, 1988) model. I have chosen to use Gibb’s model because I find this model easier to use and understand to guide me through my reflection process. Moreover, this model will be useful in breaking the new skills that I have developed into a way that I can understand. This model will also enable me to turn my experiences into knowledge that I can refer to in the future when facing same or similar situations. Gibbs model seems to be straightforward compared to the other model which is why I have also chosen it. The nine month physical journey of a pregnant woman begins with conception and ends with the birth of the baby. Pregnancy can be positive or negative experience, or a variation of either, depending on the different challenges each mother faces. The moment a woman defines herself, as a mother is incredibly subjective. The moment occurs once a woman makes a connection to her baby and commits to motherhood through caring, nurturing and being there for her newborn.
