There are many things that can impact the economy, but many people would not think that global warming has much of an effect on it. Global warming is continuing to become a very large concern for people across the world. This topic is very controversial due to the fact that many people fail to believe that global warming even exists. In this case, it will often be looked at as climate changes instead. Global warming, or climate change is a gradual increase in average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and its’ oceans. It is thought that global warming is permanently changing the climate. So, how exactly does global warming increase the Earth’s average temperature? Well, it is done by something called the greenhouse effect. When the sunlight hits our atmosphere the greenhouse gases only allows so much sunlight into the atmosphere while redirecting the rest back into space. This is what keeps Earth from being too hot or too cold. When people are adding pollution to the air – the burning of fossil fuels – they are actually destroying the ozone layer. If the ozone layer …show more content…
One way that our health can be affected is due to the droughts that global warming can cause. With droughts our water supply becomes scarce. As a result, civilians can suffer from dehydration. Disasters such as: severe storms, wildfires, and flooding can cause health risks as well. These disasters cause by climate change can cause burns, drowning, broken bones, and other physical injuries. Pollution will add on more health risks. By polluting, we are “dirtying” the air that we breath. Although we do not know all of the long term effects of climate change, it is almost guaranteed that there will be even more health issues. Eventually the spread of diseases will also be more prevalent. Insects that can carry diseases such as mosquitos will not be dying off every winter if something is not done about emission of greenhouse
Earth’s average temperature has increased about 0.8 degrees Celsius since 1880 and another degree could cause even more problems than there already are. Climate change is an important issue to be aware of because it is real and it affects you and the things around you each and every day. Every day animals lose habitats and die because climate change caused there home to burn, or their food sources started to deplete, etc. Along with these, more and more CO2 is being released into the air due to wildfires burning which is causing the atmosphere to heat even more. With the temperature increasing the oceans will become warmer and evaporation and rainfall patterns will change which will affect humans and animals, because we all work together in a system. There are many consequences of climate change like human health issues, and more animals becoming endangered, but the most important consequence is the rising amounts of wildfires.
Global warming is a scientific, political, and controversial topic. Some believe it is catastrophic, a slow moving killer hiding in the shadows. Others do not even think twice about it as they race by in a Hummer. Global warming is the gradual increase of temperature throughout different climates. It is caused by the greenhouse gas effect in which greenhouse gases, like methane and carbon dioxide, reflect sunlight back and forth. This reflected ultraviolet light bounces between the earth and the ozone layer and becomes trapped, resulting in a gradual rise of temperature. Over time, the slow rise of temperature causes new climates throughout the globe. The article “What Megablazes Tell Us About the Fiery Future of Climate Change” by Tim Dickinson
It's no surprise to most people that the idea of global warming is a highly controversial and debated topic. But is there any real evidence that global warming is a growing problem or is global warming just a big scare tactic being used to get people to comply with strict government regulations? Global warming is widely believed to be the main cause of rising average global temperatures. In reality, global warming isn't really all what it has been exaggerated to be. Many of the predicted effects of global warming over time have actually been proven to be false all together.
Climate change is a major issue that is only going to get worse. Climate change is a change in global or regional climate patterns. It has become more apparent since the mid to late 20th century onwards and is attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. Climate change has been an important issue for decades that has effects on the environment and people of the world with the end result potentially being catastrophic. Although many believe that prolific use of fossil fuels is the direct cause of climate change, there are many more underlying causes including population expansion as well as irresponsible consumption of natural resources that have
If there is an increase in the rate of global warming it will have serval effects on us humans and animals in fact the whole environment will be effected by it for example rise in the sea level which will cause lots of marine animals to die due to their loss in their food source or increase in the greenhouse gas concentration which will Increase Earth's average temperature, Reduce ice and snow cover which will cause the polar animals to die because of the change in temperature, as well as permafrost, Increase the acidity of the oceans which will make the water ph unsuitable for the marine life.
Damage to human health, severe stress on forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats, and how fish will be affected. Global warming is a serious problem that will affect our generation when we are older. In talking about global warming, we need to learn what causes the greenhouse effect. Rays from the sun are taken up and absorbed by water vapor that is naturally in the atmosphere. The United States emits the largest man-made greenhouse gases in the world.
With climate change there can be both positive and negative impacts, for instance extremely strong and violent hurricanes, in places like Arizona high temperatures causing severe heat waves all which are extremely dangerous and life threatening. There are other less serious effects of global warming and climate change such as the spreading of weeds and perhaps longer seasons for growing crops which might be good, a positive aspect but in reality the negatives are far more dangerous and life threatening requiring instant action. The more we learn about how climate change will affect people and the environment, the more we can see why people need to take action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are causing climate change. There are many things that we can do now that we know that changes are coming.
Global warming is defined as the gradual heating of the earth’s surface, oceans, and atmosphere. Global warming begins with the greenhouse effect, which is caused by the interaction between earth’s atmosphere and radiation from the sun (Putz). Global warming is a reality
Global warming is the the increased temperature in the earth’s atmosphere. That the world is getting hotter and hotter. It is caused by all the greenhouse gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone). When all these gases are spread up to the atmosphere, they cause global warming. The one that has a big effect is carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is something naturally occurring all around our earth. It absorbs heat from the sun’s energy. Some of that heat will be released into the atmosphere. When it goes up it tends to stay the longest out of all the other gases. It doesn't have a reacting factor, it has a controlling factor, it doesn't just go away like water vapor so that makes it stay longer. Global warming has many proof to it. Droughts, naturals fires, water rising levels have increased over the years. That is because of excess heat from global warming.
We burn fossil fuels, we use aerosol cans, etc. Those create greenhouse gasses and get stuck in the atmosphere and can promote climate change and global warming which is bad all over. When there are too many greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere the sun’s rays cannot as easily bounce off of the earth and back into to space, but instead get trapped and heat the earth 's crust making the average ground temp higher which is essentially global warming. Global warming affects the whole world. Ice melts and raises the water level covering areas of land where people and animals live. It also raises the temperature in general which is not good for human or living things health. When climate changes, things get out of balance. It is not easy to reverse ozone depletion at the rate we have been going. We only get one ozone layer and if we put too many holes in it without giving it time to heal itself it will be bad for future generations. Climate change is also a problem. It changes the pattern of weather which is confusing for the environments
Global warming is the rise in the earth’s average atmospheric temperature. When sunlight heats the ground surface, it releases most of the solar energy it has absorbed as infrared radiation. Then what is known as the “greenhouse effect” occurs, this is where the gases in the atmosphere absorb the re-radiated infrared radiation and the escape of these gases being released into space is prevented. As long as the composition of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere does not change, the heat in the atmosphere will remain constant by releasing the contained heat into space. It has been noted that greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane, have been increasing steadily since the early 90’s, and around this time the average global
Our planet has managed to survive and thrive for about 4.54 billion years. In the last 2 million years we have caused enough damage and destruction to make our world “broken” beyond repair. We will not be able to get back the world we once had. The reason behind this is global warming, specifically, the increase of the global temperature due to the burning of fossil fuels and the release of greenhouse gas emissions into our atmosphere. If we do not make the issue of global warming a priority in today`s society, our entire way of life will be at risk. There are many reasons why so many people believe global warming should be a concern. Thoroughly examined points include: scientific predictions, rising temperatures, human causes, drastic climate changes and animal adaptations. Though there are several points arguing how global warming should not be a concern, the reality of the matter is that it needs to be taken into consideration on a global scale before it is too late, as to do nothing would have devastating implications on humankind.
Of all the effects of global warming, the extreme weather that is taking place all over the world is the most obvious one. Global warming will bring more heat waves, drought, fiercer wildfires and stronger hurricanes. “This intensification of weather and climate extremes will be the most visible impact of global warming in our everyday lives” (75 yrs NWF). Due to rising temperatures, places everywhere will be affected as we get more extremely hot summer days and lesser winters. In addition, as these rising temperatures shifts the cycle of rain and increases evaporation, there will be longer and drier droughts which in turn can lower the water supply for life everywhere. Wildfires can turn out to be even more catastrophic due to warmer temperatures and drier areas combined with accumulated levels of fuel loads in the forest which has built up as a result of decades of fire suppression activities. Moreover, stronger hurricanes are also an effect of global warming as sea levels are rising and heavier rains are falling near the coasts. Overall, global warming is bringing climates that are changing real fast.
The Centers for Disease Control have been involved in studying global warming's effect on human health. Its affect on the climate can adversely affect humans. Plagues have been attributed to global warming. An increase in temperature can result in a longer life cycle for diseases or the agents spreading them.” Global warming will lead to more precipitation, which enables infectious diseases to be more easily contracted and spread.” (2) Effects of global warming on human health might not be immediately detected.
The common definition of global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants (Global warming, Wikipedia). Moreover, the effects of global warming will bring ecological and social changes. Because there is no exact way to predict the effects of global warming, it is almost impossible to say how strong global warming will affect life in the future. Scientists blame the greenhouse gas effect in combination with societies greenhouse gas emissions for the rising temperature. The greenhouse effect is a process by which thermal radiation from a planetary surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases, and is re-radiated in all directions. Since part of this re-radiation is emitted back towards the earth’s surface and the lower atmosphere, it results in an elevation of the average surface temperature above what it would be in the absence of the gases (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Simply, global...
