Introduction
Scientist have been studying global warming since the early 1800s, and now sixteen years later think they may have found a missing puzzle piece to the mysterious “global-warming hiatus.” So, what is global warming? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary global warming is “an increase in the earth 's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution.” So, what is greenhouse effect? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary the greenhouse effect is “the warming of the Earth 's atmosphere that is caused by air pollution. I read it and thought this author must be on to something, but what do I know. I am not a scientist so I decided to learn more about global change. I travel in the winter months with my husband, and I have always wondered why the ocean water is warmer in some locations and colder at others. I also grew up on a farm and heard my dad always talking about the weather. Now, I currently farm myself and understand a little bit more about the weather and how it effects our daily lives.
Advantages to the article Unfortunately, scientist are still searching for the missing puzzle pieces when it comes to solving the global warming hiatus. Here is what I did find in the article that seemed to be aligned with other articles;
1) The Earth’s air temperature has not climbed near what was predicted.
