I. Introduction
This final report is going to analyze the different opinions of people, who come from different nations, about the influence of climate change on food security. The research will focus on 40 students at International Pacific College (IPC). They are both males and females who come from New Zealand, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam. The primary data, which was collected from the quantitative questionnaires with 21 questions, was used in this study. The main factor that will be discussed in this research is how aware people are about the influence of climate change on food security, people’s concern when they choose food and the attentiveness of people about food security. Different nationality and gender were included in this research to notice the different thoughts from people who come from different nations in the world about climate change and food security because the climates are not similar in different countries.

Food security can be considered one of the most popular concerns because good food is the basic of human health. Besides, climate change is known as the most influence on food security because climate change is affecting the dimensions of food security such as food system stability and food availability (“Crops and Drops,” n.d.). The concern when people buy food is also important as well. There are several different concerns when people buy food in developing and developed countries. Because of the influence of climate change in different areas, food security will be applied in different ways. In addition, the attentiveness of people in different nations about food security will be examined to support the question research. The climate in different countries is not similar so the food security must be different. Consequently, this research is going to analyze the influence of climate change on food
Humans are damaging the planet to live comfortably, we must change the way food is distributed worldwide, support local farmers and switch to a healthier diet in order to stop global warming. The current global has been getting better for us humans over the years, from eating bread and eggs 3 times a day in the XV century, now we can eat better than the kings of those times, however the much of the food in not healthy and the global food system still fails in getting food to every individual in the planet and in addition it contributes to the destruction of our world. Ms. Anna Lappe explains how the food system contributes to around 1/3 of the global warming issue in her essay “The Climate Crisis at the End of Our Fork”, while a group of Plos one explains the issues about the export and import of food growth over the last 50 years in the
One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. The main reason behind it is the production of carbon dioxide from our cars, factories, power plants and other greenhouse gases, which is having a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this affects our ocean weather and agriculture, thereby dangerous to human life. “In Climate Crisis at the End of Our Fork “Anna Lappe gives her views on how global warming can lead to many problems, what are its probable causes and potential solutions to it. Whereas in “Research and Development on Climate Change and Greenhouse Gases in Support of Climate Smart Livestock Production and a Vibrant Industry” Scholtz discusses the impact of global warming and continued, uncontrolled release of greenhouse gases on the livestock industry and consequently food security as well as
Climate change, or global warming, is a major issue affecting many species around the globe. Climate change can be caused by burning fossil fuels, breeding cattle that create methane, cutting down forests which absorb carbon dioxide, and the extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere trapping the sunlight. These factors warm up the earth, and in the past century the earth has warmed by an average of about 1°. This doesn’t sound like much however on a global scale it’s huge and scientists predict a rise of up to 6°C in this century if greenhouse gasses are not cut drastically. Climate change is not just about the arctic sea ice melting, there are many other implications such as, severe storms, floods, and droughts; the sea becoming more acidic; rainforests dying, and drastic rise in sea levels. There are current strategies in place which are tackling climate change in general such as renewable energy and low carbon transport however there are also management strategies that are specific to species directly affected by climate change. When considering the species affected, many will think of the obvious species such as the polar bear and species living in cold habitats with snow and ice. This essay will address the impacts of climate change on an obvious species, the snow leopard, and a not so obvious species, sea turtles, and evaluate whether the current management of these species will be adequate to protect them in the future. It will also discuss alternative or additional management options that might help these species persist under a changing climate.
Based on the impacts on a coastal location near point Barrow, Alaska which impacts to the ecological, heath, fresh water and societal life. Increasing temperatures in the next 25 years sea thawing permafrost coastal erosion flooding other climate change. Scientist predict that over the next century the temperature increase will be twice as much over the long term norm as it is now. Statewide average annual temperatures could rise from current levels by as 5 to 13 degrees, an average winter temperature could rise by as much as 22 degrees F in certain locations. Climate change is unavoidable, it’s already under way, and the observable effects are likely to increase with time. In the next century, predict changes of 3 to 10 degrees F. small changes in temperature will cause big changes to life on earth. With planning we can minimize the potential harm from coming changes and in some cases even find opportunities. Most planning for future climate change adaption is simply a matter of addressing current effects of weather extremes. The impacts of climate change are diverse, and vulnerabilities differ across regions and sectors.
From the mid-twentieth century, the dynamics of climate change started to be observed and Gujarat has remained no exception to this phenomenon. Scientific discourse initially dubbed these environmental changes as cyclical patterns but soon it they were identified to be a trend. Gujarat is an area with semi-arid zones and entails thelongest coastline. These peculiar features make the state comparatively more prone to climate change. Agricultural growth, food security, human health, biodiversity, and overall development could be at serious risk if the matter is not addressed upon in a punctual and logical way.
In this essay i have discussed the reason of why human activity is the main cause of climate change rather than natural cause ,the effect of climate change and presented the possible solutions.Besides, the main cause of climate change is human activities such as a large amount of greenhouse gas emission and over-logging.These activities expand the greenhouse effect and rise the global temperature. Moreover, climate change affect the sea level, the amount of extreme weather event and the acidification of ocean. To solve these problem, international cooperation is the most important solution and people can also reduce the greenhouse gas by saving energy.Overall,I think the problem of climate change will be improved in the future since more and more people have rose their awareness of environment issues.
One of the main contributors to anthropogenic climate change is agriculture, which makes this study so vital to understanding and implementing the joined efforts of mitigation and adaptation, as well as policymaking. Three questions that the researchers were hoping to be able to answer at the end of the study were: 1) Do farmers consider mitigation when managing the soil?; 2) What is the prevalence of adaption actin?; and 3) what is the connection, if any, between the perception of climate change risk and mitigation and adaptation actions, respectively?
The world needs to think of how the climate is changing the food supply of the earth. The climate is doing some really bad things to the earth. The atmosphere is also not in good shape because of climate change. Humans now need to think of how climate change is affecting people. Climate change is affecting the food supply of the world.
Climate change has become of the world’s major issue today. The earth’s climate is always changing in a very fast and also in different ways. Climate changes affect our lives psychologically, emotional and also physically. Climate change is defined as a long term change in the earth’s climate, especially a change due to the increase in the average atmospheric temperatures. Due to this change in temperature, a lot of changes has occurred in our environment, these changes include rising sea levels, flooding, melting of polar ice caps, hotter days, colder nights and heat waves. These climate changes plays an important role in shaping our natural ecosystem, our human economics and also the most important, it affects the human race. For
Food insecurity and poor nutrition is an alarmingly large problem for low income families, especially in developing countries. Many strategies exist to fight this problem, although not many of these address all the factors contributing to it along with all the possible solutions to solve it. In many cases, multiple strategies must correlate and work together so that all the determinants of this issue are addressed and can fight food insecurity from different angles. This essay will discuss the significance of the problem, a range of possible strategies to solve the problem, and go into detail on a select few that will correlate and work together to solve different factors of food insecurity and poor nutrition.
Climate Change is any substantial change in climate that lasts for an extended period of time. One contributor to current climate change is global warming, which is an increase in Earth’s average temperature. Plants and animal species throughout the world are being affected by rising temperatures. Many plants are flowering earlier now than they once did; animals, such as the yellowbellied marmot, are emerging from hibernation earlier; and many bird and butterfly species are migrating north and breeding earlier in the spring than they did a few decades ago, all because of slight changes in temperature cues. (Shuster)
In the modern era, climate change is a variation of weather over a long period of time, and it is the most important and controversial global issue. It is arguable in different positions, especially on science, culture, and politics. These three fields all cause a lot of latent concerns. The science of climate change brings out several harmful phenomenon, such as global warming. With respect to the climate change, the culture of humanity may be changed because the changing climate is the most important key factor of forming today’s human societies. Instead, climate change is now a political issue, which will affect the public attitudes directly. In other words, it means the government tends to review and provide latest information in order to adapt and retard the climate change. Over a long period of time, climate change has been taking place because of human activities that affect the scientific, cultural, and political sides.
According to the Canada’s Action on Climate Change, Climate change is a long-term shift in weather conditions identified by changes in temperature, precipitation, winds, and other indicators. Climate change can involve both changes in average conditions and changes in variability, including, for example, extreme events. Climate change is one of the biggest crisis in the earth. It will cause a huge damage to the eco-system and human. We are the victims of the climate change. However, we are the one who cause the climate change.
Climate change, a global issue and the number One major problem that is having serious impacts and consequences on living species and our precious home, the Earth. On this topic, the majority of the public have recognized and accepted the fact that climate change is an undeniable truth that should be address as soon as possible and to take immediate actions to resolve the problem. There are already environmental policies established on climate change, such as voluntary and subsidies options, carbon tax, and laws. And that are not enough for solutions as there are also challenges from the conflicts between environmental policy and energy matter due the possible effects on economics. But this issue could not leave aside with small effects of
One of the most complex issues in the world today concerns human population. The number of people living off the earth’s resources and stressing its ecosystem has doubled in just forty years. In 1960 there were 3 billion of us; today there are 6 billion. We have no idea what maximum number of people the earth will support. Therefore, the very first question that comes into people’s mind is that are there enough food for all of us in the future? There is no answer for that. Food shortage has become a serious problem among many countries around the world. There are many different reasons why people are starving all over the world. The lack of economic justice and water shortages are just merely two examples out of them all.
