There is concern that climate change will have very negative affect on human life and the environment. One concern is the availability of food source. Farmers are starting to see a decline in crops because of the extreme changes in temperature. The changes in temperature reduce both agriculture and crops. The heat from global warming will also cause pests to multiply fast which will also lead to less crops. Global warming will also make water difficult to give to livestock which will cause dehydration and mass death in livestock population. There will also be an Increase of water temperature harming fisheries and wild seafood population. These impacts can threaten human health through malnutrition, food poisoning, and diseases. There is concern that climate change will have very negative affect on human life and the environment. One concern is the availability of food source. Farmers are starting to see a decrease in some crops because of warmer climates. Both agricultures and fisheries are dependent on certain climate condition. Although warmer temperatures and CO2 are good for some crops to grow in some places, you need to follow other conditions such as nutrient levels, soil moisture, and water available. Frequent climate changes make it extremely difficult to grow crops, raise animals, and catching fish. Some crops will produce more with more carbon dioxide in the air. There will also be an Increase of water temperature harming fisheries and wild seafood population. Having too much CO2 in the atmosphere will make oceans more acidic. This is bad for some fish, like shellfish (crabs, lobsters, etc), whose shells can be worn away by acid and there whole ecosystems might be harmed too. Global warming will also make water difficult to give to livestock which will cause dehydration and mass death in livestock population. If you have twice as much CO2, then you could get 30% more crop from wheat and soybeans and other crops, like corn, won't increase so much. Part of the whole global warming thing is that it usually goes along with an increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. This could be a potential benefit from global warming except If the temperatures also go up too much, that will stop crops from growing. Most plants have an "optimal" temperature level where they'll grow really well. So if the temperatures get hot, they'll stop growing very well for that reason.
Earth’s average temperature has increased about 0.8 degrees Celsius since 1880 and another degree could cause even more problems than there already are. Climate change is an important issue to be aware of because it is real and it affects you and the things around you each and every day. Every day animals lose habitats and die because climate change caused there home to burn, or their food sources started to deplete, etc. Along with these, more and more CO2 is being released into the air due to wildfires burning which is causing the atmosphere to heat even more. With the temperature increasing the oceans will become warmer and evaporation and rainfall patterns will change which will affect humans and animals, because we all work together in a system. There are many consequences of climate change like human health issues, and more animals becoming endangered, but the most important consequence is the rising amounts of wildfires.
Personally in my opinion, I feel that all these less studied implications of climate change all fall hand in hand, in terms of the cause and effects associated with them. For instance, with economical implications we can almost automatically assume that there will be social and political implications along with effects of the distribution of goods within our society due to the fact that if climate change did affect the economy in a detrimental way, it would ultimately affect a society’s social and cultural norms as well as cause chaos within the political world.
The effects of climate are felt throughout the world, all living things are affected with it. The effects of climate change are affecting directly the human life. It has been noticed that around the globe, seasons are shifting, temperatures are climbing and sea levels are rising. The world compares to century ago, it has changed drastically and it is becoming worse with climate change. Climate change will rapidly alter the lands and waters which we all depends upon for survival which will leave our children thus the future generation with a different world. In the time to come if not much is done for the case of climate change, There will be shortage of food and drinks, many new illnesses and diseases and some part of the world will become in appropriate for living things to live due to natural disaster. It can be that with the rapid Global warming and climate change, one-fourth of Earth’s species could be headed for extinction by the year 2050.
The causes of climate change are also known to them that though it is not only the human action playing role but it is the main cause of climate change. The effects of climate change does include harm and loss of environment and organisms but it also has impact on the human health. Semenza (2014) displays an assessment report which states that throughout the 21st century, the rapidly occurring climate change will lead to increase in number of humans with ill health in many regions mainly in those of developing countries where citizens face low income. Semenza (2014) also mentions how there are physiological limits to intense heat exposure and the global climate change will turn some parts of the world which are currently highly populated into uninhabitable even if the global temperature rises by 7 degrees Celsius. Johnson (2014) states how El-Niño-related hydroclimate variability will lead to being intensified under global warming mainly in areas as southern Asia which are already stressed by different droughts, floods, and crop yields. Dettinger, Udall, and Georgakakos (2015) mentions how climate change puts risk and threat on water resources in the western United States to an extent that no other part of the country matches it. Dettinger, Udall, and Georgakakos (2015) also states how recent research and studies strictly point a limited number
As the world becomes continually warmer, the effect of climate change in the arctic regions becomes more intense. Within the past 50 years, arctic regions in Canada have experienced warming of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius (Fergal & Prowse, 2007). One of the most important areas in the Canadian arctic is the Cryosphere (Appendix A), which is the area consisting of season snow cover, permafrost glaciers, and sea ice (Fergal & Prowse, 2007). This area is significant because it has provided a stabilized surface for building pipelines, as well as provides access to northern communities (Fergal & Prowse, 2007).
One way that our health can be affected is due to the droughts that global warming can cause. With droughts our water supply becomes scarce. As a result, civilians can suffer from dehydration. Disasters such as: severe storms, wildfires, and flooding can cause health risks as well. These disasters cause by climate change can cause burns, drowning, broken bones, and other physical injuries. Pollution will add on more health risks. By polluting, we are “dirtying” the air that we breath. Although we do not know all of the long term effects of climate change, it is almost guaranteed that there will be even more health issues. Eventually the spread of diseases will also be more prevalent. Insects that can carry diseases such as mosquitos will not be dying off every winter if something is not done about emission of greenhouse
For years to come there will always be a speculation on whether the climate change has really taken place or not. Many believe that large companies launched this topic in order to benefit from it in profit, as there are also those who are convinced that this are consequences that have emerged from human mistakes in understanding the environment. As humans are struggling to trust one another whether it is just a big conspiracy or not or environment changing itself, we are slowly starting to feel the effects of climate change. Because of the gasses (CO2) that are in the air, atmosphere is getting warmer, thereby triggering the Greenhouse effect. Almost 70% of emitted gasses in air are CO2, which leads us to believe that this is the main cause of Global Warming. Since it is billions and billions of metric tons per year that are being released in air, many scientists conclude that temperature will most likely be more higher in twenty years from now, than it was in near past.
The two graphs illustrate the relationship between the changes in atmospheric/global temperature with time (in years) when various natural and anthropogenic climatic factors are in existence. Both graphs show sharp, but fluctuating, observed temperature records in every span of five years, between 1900 and 1920. The observed temperature anomaly is recorded as -0.3oC after every five years for the entire 20 years. The observed temperature variance is seen to have a rising trend from 1920 up to 1945 after which there is a slight decrease in temperature up to 1960. The recorded temperature anomaly then continues to rise until it reaches a peak of 0.95oC. On the other hand, the line graphs of the climatic temperature models are smooth and depict a steady rise in temperature anomaly from 1900 up to 1960. In the first graph, which depicts natural and anthropogenic forcing, there is a sudden decrease in temperature anomaly of the models followed by a cumulative increase until the point where it reaches a peak value of 0.74oC. However, in the second graph, which involves natural climate for...
Climate change has become of the world’s major issue today. The earth’s climate is always changing in a very fast and also in different ways. Climate changes affect our lives psychologically, emotional and also physically. Climate change is defined as a long term change in the earth’s climate, especially a change due to the increase in the average atmospheric temperatures. Due to this change in temperature, a lot of changes has occurred in our environment, these changes include rising sea levels, flooding, melting of polar ice caps, hotter days, colder nights and heat waves. These climate changes plays an important role in shaping our natural ecosystem, our human economics and also the most important, it affects the human race. For
Global warming and the greenhouse effect are issues discussed by scientists all the time. A natural process that keeps earths temperature at a livable rate is called the greenhouse effect. The energy from the sun warms up the earth when the rays from the sun are absorbed by greenhouse gasses. The gasses then become trapped in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous oxide are the most common greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to be trapped in the Earths lower atmosphere which causes global warming. If there weren’t any greenhouse gasses, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed on the earth. Global warming can and will lead to several problems that affect the environment in which we humans live in. These problems can lead to warmer temperatures all around the world, it can endanger animals and the wildlife, and it can lead to widespread flooding from the glaciers melting. Here are a few more future effects that I will discuss in more detail about. Damage to human health, Severe stress on forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats, how fish will be affected. Global warming is a serious problem that will affect our generation when we are older.
Climate change is an extremely important issue that must be dealt with now. The damage that results from climate change is very significant. To date, 300,000 deaths have occurred, and another 300 million have suffered from the effects of climate change. However, the current statistics of damage done to humans is minuet, in comparison to the damage that will occur if we continue on with the current system. Scientific research indicates that the average world temperature will rise by 1.4c to 5.8c. To an average person the increase of one degree of average temperature is deceivingly low. Nonetheless, just one degree
Climate change will affect our future because some places that we see right now may not exist in the future due to climate,Place like antarctica are made up of ice will not be there because the ice will melt and wouldn’t exist. As the ice melts the sea level rises it will cause alot of countries and cities to flood.Another affect will be that summers will be really hot and winters will be warm too, because the ice reflected the sun rays after the ice melts it will cause the earth to heat up
Even if the reason of climate change may be the natural cycles, we humans are the major determinant to it. The huge amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is causing the climate change and this amount is rising day by day, as a result of our actions. Greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, generally absorb and emit the heat in the atmosphere to keep the Earth’s climate habitable. However, as we continue to burn fossil fuels, this habitable Earth’s temperature will blow up, and as a result, some species will die out due to various problems which are caused by climate change. According to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the most obvious consequence of climate change is the rising sea levels, which will cause some seashore habitats to become unavailable to live to its species.
Peoples' lives are connected to the climate. A warming climate will bring changes that can affect our water supplies, agriculture, power and transportation systems, the natural environment, and even our own health and safety. The effect of climate change is undeniable. Although it's difficult to predict the exact impacts of climate change, scientist agrees that these changes are caused by the greenhouse effect. The destruction of
The Centers for Disease Control have been involved in studying global warming's effect on human health. Its affect on the climate can adversely affect humans. Plagues have been attributed to global warming. An increase in temperature can result in a longer life cycle for diseases or the agents spreading them.” Global warming will lead to more precipitation, which enables infectious diseases to be more easily contracted and spread.” (2) Effects of global warming on human health might not be immediately detected.
