Client met with his counselor for the of 05/08/2017 to 05/12/2017 to discuss his treatment plan goals. The client is currently working on defense mechanisms, The client reported that at this point has recognized that he was using three of the defense mechanism to with his family member's. The client reported that everything that was stated , the research on this topic was right on the money, he uses these defense to have an excuse to get away from his wife and use drugs. The client seems to happy that he is learning to put a label on his behavior, so that he can know what he is working on to change. The client has made some progress with managing his anger, when he get upset has learned to take a time out and think about what part he has

Client at this time is in compliance thus far, he has fulfilled the requirement for the week by attending all of his group session , 1x1 along with seeing his therapy at FSC and staying on track with his treatment plan. Client seems to be learning about self and wanting to become a better individual for his kid and wife. Counselor will continue to meet with client 4 time a to do a follow-up his progress in the program.
In the video, Whose Records, the client demonstrated frustration with her current counselor and made a request for her medical records in order to transfer to another counselor. During the conversation, the counselor remained calm and respectful to the client regardless of the clients’ disrespectful approach. I do not agree with the challenge approach made by the counselor regarding the client seeing a different counselor every three to four weeks. That seemed to increase the level of tension on behalf of the client. I feel a better approach would have been to allow the client to express her concerns regarding her current treatment. After which, the counselor could explain the process of obtaining her medical records along with requesting the client to sign the appropriate release of information to acquire her records.
Formulation of Problem/Needs: The client 's presenting problems are caused by her mother’s emotional verbal abuse. In spite of all, her emotional problems Ana maintains a positive outlook towards her future. Ana demonstrates self-determination as she clearly expresses her current issues. She struggles with overeating because she feels unloved and worthless. Ana is seeking services to overcome the resentment she feels towards her mother. She is requesting help to manage her coping skills and reduce her feelings of depression. According to Ana these feelings started at a young age. Ana’s current challenges are learning to cope with her mother’s verbal abuse. Anna will arrange monthly meetings with her social worker to talk about what methods she’s used to coping with her depression. Ana agrees that she needs to find positive away to communicate with her mother. Ana also stays that she wants to learn to be selfish and break free from the traditional stereotypical life of East LA. The clients goals are to be reunited with her children, maintain housing, and to attend parenting to strengthen her skills and the bond with her children. Client is doing well: abstaining from drinking and complying with and attending program, no longer with abusive boyfriend, willing to work hard. Key players agree on goals for the most part. Goals represent a change on the micro level. Identified objectives are to develop her parenting skills and strengthen the bond with her children, maintain sobriety, and to develop healthier coping skills, develop positive self-esteem.
On 1/6/2016, CM met with the client to complete Bi-Weekly ILP Review. Client was dressed with proper attire for the weather. She was well groomed. In the meeting client appears to be space, disoriented and cognitive impairment which making difficult for the client to express herself or dialogue appropriately.
I observed an IEP meeting for one of my students who has a TBI, traumatic brain injury. She just moved to this school district last year, so this was a follow-up IEP meeting to see how she was doing on her short-term objectives and overall goal. They also talked about transitioning her into high school, because she is in 8th grade now. The People who attended the meeting were the DAPE teacher, the mom, the student, the three special education teachers, the para-professional, and case manger.

The client is a 24 year old African American woman who describes her overall life as overwhelming. She is currently in a graduate program in mental health counseling; she is almost nine months pregnant and is having labor induced on Monday, February 22, 2016. She has also expressed concern and apprehension for an upcoming visit from her significant-other’s mother. Although she appreciates her support system, she has communicated concerns about wanting to control pending situations around her. Her prevailing motives for seeking counseling at this time are that she does not want to be a burden to her fellow students and family with her personal demands, plus she feels that she has a lot going on
Client presents to therapy with depression, frustration and anxiety. Client reports that she feels stuck in her current relationship and that she would like to leave her partner but feels that she can’t because she does not want to lose custody of her daughter. Client reports that recently she has no desire to do anything around the house during the day and doesn’t want to spend time with her partner when he gets home from work. Treatment Termination. The length of treatment for this family will determine how long it will take the parents to gain custody of Collin their younger child. Progress in treatment is determined once the family has united and continues to report and demonstrate improvement while maintaining living together. The therapist will inform the family of the termination several sessions in advance while providing the date of termination. Due to the family history of failing progress toward improving their relationship, it is possible the family will display some anxiety and other emotion. However, this phase will allow the family to manage their daily living with little to no assistant from others.
Workers express why and how they become desensitized through strict policy, regulation, and the specialized emotional stance necessary to interact with these prisoners. Acting as servants for the lives of some bad apples, observing civilized men be reduced to the natural man, and acting in adherence to authority with little voice heard by superiors, this work requires a specialized emotional stance.
The school that I visited was new. It was the first year of the school opening. The school board had combined two schools into one, so the students had to adjust to their new environments and new individuals. They seemed to be getting along well with each other. Since the school is new the teacher has to adjust to new problems that araise. Times for the subjects and times for using the computer labs change. So the teacher must always be fixable for anything. In this observation of this classroom I learned about the enjoyment of teaching. How you have to adapt to each of the students.
I attended a second grade class at Smallville Elementary on February 22, 2014; the class began promptly at 0855. There are 26 children in this second grade class. There are 15 male students and 11 female students. The student diversity is 2 Hispanics, 1 African-American, 1 East Indian, and 1 New Zealander (White but with an extreme accent). Three children were left-handed.
The students that I observed in the classroom were of middle to high school. I went to see 8th, freshman, 10th , and seniors classes, they seemed excited and very curious to why I was there. The middle school was more alive and rambunctious while I observed them. The High school kids were more relaxed, more comical. Some were paying attention while others seemed tuned out to the lecture or involved in socialization with friends within the class. By the end of the class Mr. Hasgil had restored the attention of everyone by using tactics such as history jeopardy with candy as the prize with the high school kids. In both he middle school and high school the kids were mostly Caucasian with a mixture of black, Asian , and Hispanic in the classes.
