The song is set around Chief keef being on the phone and talking to a woman, he refers to the woman on the song as a bitch, hoe, and thottie. The word thottie is derived from the word thot, which is an acronym for “that hoe over there”. The song states “You wanna Glo up, baby, Keef got you/You's a gold bottle, these hoes pink Moscato/Baby I'm the owner, you can be my castle”. This line right here compares the woman to other women by saying she is a better bottle of liquor than other women and calls her his property when he says you can be my castle. Then he goes on to say in the song “ Baby cause I like you/Only reason I text you and why I Skype you/I just wanna fuck on you, I don't wanna wife you/But you gotta brush your teeth and do what I say though/(Hello?)/Bitch can you hear me?/Keep your pussy in park, no 360... I don't wanna smell you/Cause I'ma cut/you off, quicker than I met you/I'ma swipe your name up off my schedule/And if smoke this blunt, girl, I'm gon' forget you”. The lyrics basically says the women is just there for his sexual pressure and he does not plan on making her more than that; he also tells the women that he has to be the one in control if she wants to continue this relationship; then he tells her, he will completely stop communicating/seeing her, if she does not do what he wants her to do and she can be

Prufrock is describing himself as he sees himself. Honestly, and without glory. That is who HE is. In the next two lines we see his weariness with his current lifestyle. He just wants to sit back and relax. Not worry about what everyone else thinks.
The first verse of the song goes directly into supporting this idea. The song starts out with the lyrics, “Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so”. Matthew Healy has said that he feels guilty for leaving his family to go on tour, for the fact that he leaves his little brother. Matthew, worrisome of his little brother having no one to watch him, so he felt that he needed to spend more time with him (Hann). The verse shows Halsey giving Matthew reassurance. The lyrics in the second line state, “Your mother only smiled on her TV show”. Matthew Healy’s Mother, Denise Welch, made several appearances on a British talk show, Loose Women (Denise Welch). Denise, is known to have struggled with depression since the birth of her first child, Matthew (Denise Welch, In Her Own Words). The lyrics in the third line reads, “You’re only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope”, Matthew Healy known as a former cocaine addict (Trendbell). The last line of the first verse conveys, “I hope you make it till the day your 28 years old”. The verse makes reference to the 27 Club, the group of musicians who have died at the age of 27 from drug addictions. This analogy Halsey refers to derives from Matthew’s background of
Tom Petty's "Into the great wide open" is a poem about a rockstar who was open minded the fell right on his face.
I chose this song because a lot of people think that they are just one person and that they can not change the world. In the song when Platten sings “Like a small boat on the ocean sending big waves into motion...I might only have one match but I can make an explosion. Hope is one of those people, she thinks that by being positive to a person you may be able to change not the whole world but maybe someone’s world. She thinks that you can do this when she says “I’m doing my best to make life nice for everyone, but it’s not like this is the only table I’ve got” (Bauer 63). She is basically saying that you should strive to be nice to everyone, even though sometimes you will encounter people who are just antithesis and terrible. You can make monumental change through your actions, whether they are positive or negative. Hope realizes that her voice is the only thing she has got, but she has the ability to move mountains with it if she would just let it break
Rihanna in her childhood was inspired by Bob Marley, Madonna, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey. Gravel To Tempo is a song by dream and synth pop artist, Hayley Kiyoko. The music video explains the meaning behind the song, with Kiyoko portraying herself and her own feelings about her struggle with her identity. I think the music video is important, because it reveals the internal struggle of LGBT youth coming to terms with who they are, especially LGBT women. By doing this, Kiyoko created a song that 's relevant to my own experiences, and speaks out to everyone, especially LGBT youth, to just be who you are and find freedom in that.
Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”, the first single off of her sixth album 1989, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in late August of 2014. Swift, whose start as a country-pop performer had thrust her in the limelight when she was sixteen, cemented her transformation from country sweetheart to pop superstar with the track and subsequent album. Dealing with the many criticisms she had faced over the years, particularly the sexist accusations that she was a serial dater and crazy girlfriend, the song’s universally-appealing message of resilience combined with its catchy and carefully crafted sound ensured its positive reception. This popularity served as motivation for its inclusion on the song list for the A.V. Club’s Undercover
“Skyscraper” is a song released in 2011 by singer and songwriter Demi Lovato. Demi Lovato first came into the media’s eye in 1990s when she was on the beloved children show Barney and Friends. She then made her move from entertaining the toddler set to entertaining the tween set of audience when she was casted on As the Bell Rings, a series of comedic shorts that run between Disney programs. In 2008, Demi made a huge career decision when she signed on to be one of the leading roles in Disney’s original film, Camp Rock. This is where her signing talent was truly recognized. After this success, Demi decided that she wanted to dedicate all of her time to singing, and put her acting career temporarily on hold. As 2010 comes around, and Demi’s media attention grows rapidly, she being to become overwhelmed from the constant stress. After acting out on several occasions, Demi checks herself into a rehabilitation center. It is during her time there that she draws on inspiration for her next album Unbroken. In the opening scene, the director shows slow-motion clips of several couples dancing in the most intimate way, face to face. All the while, the song “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes is playing in the background. Right after the opening credits, the mood is quickly shifted to a more family-friendly scene of Baby driving to the resort with her family in their safe and cookie-cutter station wagon. Thus giving the audience a reality check from the sexual dance floor nirvana and a push towards the innocent act of going with your parents on a vacation. This family scene was shot while listening to “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by The Four Seasons, a pg-rated song. Further into the film, the sex scene every viewer was anticipating finally arrives. Baby goes to visit Johnny in his less than luxurious cabin after the awkward encounter between him and her father takes place after Penny’s abortion scare. The song choice of “Cry to Me” by Solomon Burke sets the mood and is used by the two lovers to say what they’ve wanted to say all along. The lyrics “Nothin’ can be sadder than a glass of wine alone”…. “Loneliness is such a waste of time”… “You don’t ever have to walk alone,” say exactly what the characters are feeling, and it shows once the physicality of their relationship begins moments after. Music was used in this film to add flair to the lustful nature of Baby and Johnny’s
Seemingly unrelated to the lyrics, the video attempts to incorporate the idea of the police mistreating the orcs derived from the movie Bright. In one of the final scenes, Sam Harris is shown smirking as he just graffitied “let us live” on a cop car. (See figure 7) The video unjustly portrays cops as the enemy, potentially insinuating that the police are a key reason to society’s degradation and therefore our home’s demise. While there is some validity here, the video takes it rather far and isolates the problem to the cops, without showing any other ideas that may have caused our home’s
