I recently learned about music and gained some culture by visiting a classical show. The opera concert was located at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC in the west building. The concert was in the honor of African American History month. This was a classical concert and it was free but it was on a first come first seat based. Because there was limited seats available in the area because it was small and some seats were already reserve. They were very strict on people using their phones. Because the staff members did not want anybody taking pictures or recording the concert. So I did what I could to take pictures for the event. It was a crowded and pack event. Two musical composers for the classical concert were Marlissa Hudson and …show more content…

On Friday, November 15, 2013, I attended a concert that I found very interesting. It took place at 7:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. The group performing was the Erie Chamber Orchestra, but as a special the Slippery Rock University Concert Choir was also there. During the performance I attended, two pieces were performed. The first was a Mozart piece by the name of Symphony No. 41.
For my first concert report, I have decided to attend the Applied Music Student Recital. The musical performance was at Palomar College on February 27, 2015 from 1:00P.M.--2:00P.M. at the performance lab room D-10. The type of music that was presented at the concert was a brass ensemble, chamber music, classical, contemporary, jazz, opera, percussion, and many vocal arrangements. There was a total of eight musical Palomar College student performers who are majoring in music theory. I am only going to focus on a few of the musical pieces that I enjoyed most. The majority of the performers were dressed in formal attire. As the men were dressed in a dress shirt, a tie or bow tie of their choice, black slacks, and dress shoes. As for the women, they wore dresses, skirts and dress shoes. Also there was a pianist, accompanist who is a Palomar College music teacher named Ruth Weber. The performance was in a music concert hall with roughly fifty audience members.
John Adams is the excellent American music composer who is still now popular for his music composing capabilities, he is even now composing the music, the last recorded music of him is from the year 2013, he believes in the use of repetitive and rhythmic tunings in his music so that it ensures more dedication to the listener towards music, he is minimalist composer of his time, the Nixon in China is one of his contribution in music services, which however was not reputed much but it was the first stage music and he used electronic instruments in his minimalist music.
Music is virtually everywhere we go, no matter if it is background noise in a coffee shop or singing along while shopping for groceries, we can find music somewhere. The event I attended was the Flint Symphony Orchestra on October 8, 2016. I have never attended a symphony before so I was excited to go, especially since I had invited my friend to attend with me. For this event, I was already informed by my teacher that the symphony will be formal so we needed to look the part since others will be dressed fancy. This made me curious how this event will turn out. Walking past the ticket area and through the doors to the lobby made me feel instantly memorized at how grand it was on the inside. I went downstairs and there were a vast
The concert I attended was performed by a solo concert performer named Anton Nel. The date of the performance was October 8th, 2017 at 4:00 PM. The concert lasted about an hour thirty minutes and was located at Rainey Hall in Jessen Auditorium. The performer Anton Nel was a middle aged man while the audience who came to see him perform was generally middle-aged to elderly. The performer Nel is a very well known pianist who has taken his talents to several areas across the globe including Europe and Africa. Also, he has received several awards, including the 1987 Naumburg International Piano Competition at Carnegie Hall. As a UT student, my ticket was free.
I have been to many different concerts throughout my life but this year I experienced two exceptionally unique ___ that I had never seen before. The first one was a spectacular chamber recital that took place at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performed by pianist Yefim Bronfman and violist-violinist Pinchas Zukerman. The program included Schubert's Violin Sonatina No. 2 in A Minor, Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 7 in C Minor, and Brahms’ Viola Sonata No. 1 in F Minor. The second was a performance by the notable quartet “Anonymous 4” presented by the Universality of Chicago at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. The program included a series of medieval French motets from the 13th Century French polyphony, taken from the Montpellier Codex. The two performances were extremely different in nature and but at the same time very similar in what they were trying to achieve. For instance, while the first concert consisted entirely of an instrumental performance, the other was exclusively vocal. However, both were able to bring to life great examples of iconic artists from our past. I left both c...
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has a website that announces its programs. Anyone can easily find and choose a concert. I chose a concert for Sunday July 25, 2010. This concert was emerging artists from Ipalpiti Festibal 2010. It included the four pieces of music that are described below. One of these was Fantasiestucke, Opus 88, both Romanze and Duet were preformed. This concerto was performed by pianist Luiza Borac, violinist Vladimir Dyo, and cellist Yves Dharamraj. The second piece was Ahnung, a new discovery piece from Kinderszenen. This piece was U.S. Premiere, played solo by the pianist Luiza Borac. The third piece was Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Opus 47. This piece was an Andante cantabile piece. This concerto was performed by pianist Luiza Borac, violinist Conrad Chow and Adelya Shagidullina, and Cellist Kian Soltani. The last piece was Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Opus 44. What I discovered about my own musical understanding by attending this concert is the following thing. I know how to appreciate and to enjoy music that is a little bit familiar, but my understanding stops when a very new type of music is performed. I made a conclusion from this experience. My conclusion is that learning about music will increase the pleasure of listening to music, but that musical learning is not, perhaps, as easy as learning subjects like Math or History.
I attended the Los Angeles Philharmonic classical music concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday 29 November 2013. The classical concert started at 8:00pm to the enjoyment of the huge audience that had been waiting for this amazing music extravaganza. Classical music concerts always offer magnificent entertainment and the audience in this concert was expectant to derive such entertainment or more. In attendance were Christian Zacharias who was the conductor and Martin Chalifour who was the LA Phil commanding Principal Concertmaster and Bach violin player. In readiness for the concert, I enjoyed a special dinner prepared for the audience. More specifically, LA Phil staffer introduced us to the evening classical concert amidst cheers from the audience. It was such a refreshing and joyous feeling to be part of this audience.
On November 16th, 2013, I attended a concert choir, fall choral concert. This event took place on the Wheaton College Campus, in the Edman Chapel at 7:30 pm. The chapel was well-lit, with long pews for the audience to be seated. The concert began with the audience looking up into a balcony, where the ensemble stood in neat rows. They watched the conductor, who stood on a stage in front of the audience, waiting for their cue.
The music he produced had a lot of control with a lot of flair. He liked improvisation, but did not leave that up to the performer. Instead, he wrote very virtuosic passages for his pieces, with which the performer did not have much room for imaginative playing. Then there is his knowledge on how to writ...
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something as complex as a musical composition, much less actually performing it, so this aspect of the concert was particularly awe-inspiring. There was a large attendance, and I think that much of the audience consisted of friends of the composers and/or performers. I went with three friends, who I convinced by telling it would be interesting to see student composers.
Musical concerts are undoubtedly an incredible opportunity to experience a great aesthetic pleasure by listening to the musicians perform in front of your eyes. The power of music can hardly be overestimated – it can transfer a number of messages, thoughts and feelings through the performed sounds. Therefore the one can comprehend the music in the best possible way only when it is heard live. Musical concerts are often revelatory and highly impressive experiences to me. This essay thereby aims to provide my reflections and impressions of the concert of Gregory Porter & the Metropole Orchestra which I had the opportunity to attend in Nashville, TN.
Welcome to the California Chamber Orchestra’s Hotel Biltmore NYC 1917. This evening we travel back in time and revisit a concert that happened 100 years ago. The original concert was titled “Concert Intime,” and serves as a launching point to see what has changed, and what has not, in American classical music concerts over the past 100 years. Through reflection, imagination, and a bit of fortunetelling, tonight we are on a journey to inspect what was, what is, and what might be.
To this day, music is still being discovered that he had once written. The last known number was 571 pieces of work. The music in the Baroque period which was composed by this incredible artist was evidently loved and cherished by the world. But what about today?
