Clary tries to help out by understanding reasons and being skillful. But she gets stubborn when things don't go her way. Clary is an understanding person. When she sees what actually is going on with Jace, she says ‘‘I understand what's going on with you but i'm going to help you’’. By helping him she seeks help with the Silent Brothers. Also when the clave has made a decision she doesn't like she still tells Alec and Isabelle “ I know the clave has it good reasons”. She knows it might be a greater good. Throughout the story Clary goes through some battles and doesn't have weapons. So she is skillful by using what's around her as weapons. Once she had to fight a demon dog twice her size. This is what she did “Her fingers closed on the chain holding the Morgenstern ring around her neck. She yanked it,hard and the chain snapped. She whipped it towards the dogs face, slashing the hound brutally across the eye”. Another time she went to an abandoned church. She found a tall demon there that attacked her. “With a scream she jammed the athame into the creature”. She says anything can be a weapon. I think she just does it on instinct. Clary is a very stubborn person. WHen jace goes missing and she is banned from looking for him. She says “ I want to help i want to do something, I don’t want to just sit here while Jace is missing”. This means she continues to want to do something that she can't. Her mom always tries to protect her. She tells her to stop protecting her. That's why she does so many things without telling her mom because her mom wouldn't let her. Clary changed throughout the story she starts out as understanding person but then she is determined.
She is understanding because she understood Jace and his decisions. She also knew the clave knew what to do so she understood it. Then she changed throughout the story. Especially when Jace went missing and the clave was going to stop looking for him. She was getting annoyed that everyone did what the clave said to do, and didn't do what was best for them. She changed into being determined to do what she wants. she does this threw her actions and speech. She said “screw the council we will find Jace ourselves’’. This means she will do anything for Jace. when she finds out what's wrong with Jace she tells him “I think you should go see the silent brothers today’’. This means she knows Jace needs help but he doesn't want it so she is taking him by force. It's important that the author developed Clary because if not there wouldn't be a connection between the reader and the character. I can take from what Clary has experienced and say people are not always what you think they are. She thought she knew who Jace was but there was another side of him that she didn't know. I can also say that people change. She always thought of SImon as someone who couldn't take care of himself. Now he can because he is a vampire and he is stronger and

Such views come from the Confederates own General Lee and General Longstreet, and the Unions own Colonel Chamberlain and soldiers from both sides. From those depicted
Killer Angels, written by Michael Shaara, takes place in Gettysburg in the year of 1863. Prohibiting slavery in the states that did not yet become states triggered the start of the Civil War. Fort Sumter in Charleston Bay was where the war was triggered by the Confederate Army opening fire on the federal garrison and forced it to surrender. For three long years, Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia delayed attacks by the Union Army of the Potomac. All principal confederate armies surrendered by the spring of 1865.
Throughout the novel the characters are put in these situations which force them to obtain information about the people they thought they knew. The center of finding out who everyone is was brought into play through the death of Marie. The story is told by David, only twelve years old, who sees his family an community in a different light for who they truly are under there cover. By doing his own little investigations, often times eavesdropping, David saw through the lies, secures and betrayals to find the truth.
The Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a peculiar story about boys stranded on an island, and the plot and characters relate to many prevailing events and problems. A specific problem that is currently occurring is the mutual hatred and enmity between North Korea and South Korea. This is a current event, but the North and South’s hostility has been ongoing since 1945, when Korea was split into North and South, Communist and Capitalist. When the 38th parallel(Border between North and South Korea) was created, Kim Il-Sung ruled the North, and Syngman Rhee ruled the South. As of now, a power hungry dictator, Kim Jong-un rules the north, and an optimistic president who wants to see change was recently elected in the South, named Moon Jae-in. In Golding’s book, Ralph is a character who aimed to keep everyone alive and to stay together. Jack on the other hand, wanted to have fun and hunt, and although he also wanted to be rescued, he made no effort to help. In this sense, North Korea is a clear representation of the character Jack and his quest for power, and opposingly, South Korea is a representation of Ralph and his strive for order, democracy, and civilization.
In the history of the United States, there have been many wars like Civil War. Civil War is a war in the United States between the North and the South. In “The Killer Angels” by Michael Shaara is explained of the fogginess that often accompanies warfare. This novel talks about the period of June 30th, 1863 through July 3rd, 1863 when civil war was happening. It is a story of the Battle of Gettysburg, three years into the Civil War. The Killer Angels is also a story that at times questions what the Civil War was about. The Civil War was a war fought over slavery and the North made their own way to South by imposing the South. Slavery was the main reason what got the Civil War started in the South and separation between South and North was stronger.
Throughout A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens repeats a number of symbols and motifs. By employing these two literary devices throughout the duration of the story, Dickens is working to emphasize the importance of these specific components of the story. Motifs and symbols represent repeating ideas that help the reader to understand, as well as highlight the author’s central idea. Dickens employs the usage of symbols and motifs, such that by using both he adds a layer of significance and deeper meaning to actions, people, as well as objects. Additionally, by using symbols and motifs, Dickens is able to create a story in which both the characters, and the plot are interwoven.
Life is like a ginormous puzzle, ergo, as we learn and grow our perspective changes. Clary is taught about the mystical being around her, while trying to save her mother. Resulting in Clary’s mindset to expand as her character changed. For example, on page 422, while Luke and Clary are talking, she claims, “ About Gretel being just a Downworlder. I don't think that” (Clare 422). Whereas, just hours earlier, she was extremely nervous about being in contact with downworlders and other demons alike. Actions such as these represent the prospective change of characters throughout the book City of Bones. Thus proving, that the bigger picture helps us grow into the person we are meant to
A Tale of Two Cities Essay Throughout history, the powers of love and hate have constantly been engaged in a battle for superiority. Time and time again, love has proven to be stronger than hate, and has been able to overcome all of the obstacles that have stood in the way of it reaching its goal. On certain occasions, though, hate has been a viable foe and defeated love when they clash. In the novel A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens presents several different power struggles between love and hate.
Regarding the connection between the aunts and angels, the woman talks about them being her family, and at first you see them as guardians but straight afterwards they are portrayed as prison guards with harmful weapons. This irony plays a strong part in who is meant to play the good guys and who the bad.
When an individual travels into unknown territory, their greatest chance of survival is in gaining an understanding of the land and the people that inhabit it. The natives are the people who understand the location and what simple missteps could lead to death. The natives live in a world different from the travelers, and the knowledge they carry is greater than anything brought from home. How a character adapts to the environment influences their survival and what they retain after returning home. In Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and State of Wonder by Ann Patchett the main characters must adjust to being in an unknown location or face death. The narrators of State of Wonder and Heart of Darkness journey into unfamiliar territory, however

Most people, throughout history, have always been quick to judge others and their actions. Author John Milton is no different. In his books of Paradise Lost Milton finds faults in Eve’s actions and blames her for the fall of mankind. He points out specific flaws in her character. Flaws like chosen ignorance, pride, and vanity. They way Milton makes these points in Paradise Lost almost encourages readers to believe that all women possessed these character flaws and are there for the cause of most problems for men.
