Christopher Columbus Thesis

Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, a Navigator, and a colonizer. He was also a citizen of the republic of Genoa, under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain he completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean. He's also known as the man who discovered America. Columbus was born somewhere around 1451 and his hometown is Genoa that's in Italy. His father was Domenico Columbus and his mother was Susanna Fontanarossa, he was the son of wool merchants. Columbus also had three younger brothers, Bartholomew Columbus, Giovanni Pellegrino Columbus, and lastly Giacomo Columbus, he also had a sister named Bianchinetta Columbus. Christopher and his family moved to Savona around 1470, that's also when Columbus traveled the seas as a pirate and attacked ships belonging to the Moors.Somewhere around

1476-1477 Columbus has to swim to shore cause his ship sunk in the battle with Portugal. in 1477 he joined his brother Bartholomew to work as a cartographer.later on in in 1479 Columbus married a noblewoman named Felipa Perestrello Moniz.

And a year later they had a son named Diego Colon.Four to Five years after they had a son Christopher fails to gain the patronage from the king of Portugal to enable his search for a trade route to the indies. Felipa died in 1485 of having consumption, so Christopher and I think his son both decide to move to Cadizin in Spain where he meets Dona Beatriz Enriquez De Arana which later he marries, after a couple of years pass by Columbus and Dona Have a son and his name is Ferdinand, better known as Fernando. In 1491 Columbus makes a fool of himself and tries to appeal to the king Ferdinand of Spain for Patronage but he yet again got rejected. A couple months go by and the Priest Father Perez intercedes on the behalf of Columbus and pleads with the queen Isabella to fund Columbus emphasising that he would be able to convert heathen races to Christianity.In 1492 king Ferdinand and queen Isabella of Spain finally agreed to act as patrons for Christopher Columbus and to provide the money and the ships Columbus

needs. now somewhere in August Columbus leaves Spain to search for the Indies on his ship which he calls the Santa Maria. Fernando ( his son) also went along with him to accompany him. Columbus's two other ships were called Pinta and the Nina. All three ships carried about 120 men each. On September 8th his voyages began. and a few days after that on the 15th all three ships reached the Canaries under favorable conditions. five days passed and and the Sargasso Sea's weather had changed. also Columbus kept a two log book to deceive the crew as to the real length of the voyage. Then three more days passed by and Columbus's crew started to become disgruntled. on October 7th ( my birthday) false landfall was spotted. four days later there was a near mutiny from his crew. twenty four hours later land was seen by one of the Pinta's crew and they land on Waltzing's land in the Bahamas, west indies. Discoverers named the island San Salvador and Columbus believes that he has reached the passage point to India and or China.yep then later on in his life he was one of the people who discovered America and then he died.
