Christmas marks the occassion for the manifestation of an abduandce of holiday office parties. When it comes to attending a Christmas party, you can take advantage of the party by having a good time and set the seeds to advance your career, or you can ruin your office reputation and stop your career dead in its tracks. As such, use this article as a guide when it comes to some things that you should and shouldnt do at a holiday office season.

Should

Act As If Your Behavior Is Being Monitored

Employers typically spend an abundance of money to ensure that that their employees feel rewarded at said holiday events. As such, take advantage of what could be the only gift that your company may give for the entire year.

Dress Attire

Based on the fact that the office party will still be considered as being a business function. in most cases the utilization of conservative party clothes would be appropriate. However, in the same breah, ensure that you ask whether the dress attire for the party will be casual or formal.

Conversation

Ensure that the conversations that you partake in is upbeat and positive in all aspects. Meaning that, you should avoid the possibility of bragging, cursing, complaining or correcting. Ideally, you'll want to avoid topics that surround office policies, dark humor, religion, politics, etc.

Drinks

When it comes to drinking, if the company that you work for, provides alchohol, ensure that you keep our drinking to a minimum. Addionally, make sure that you keep one hand free so that you can offer handshakes to your coworkers as they come and go. The last thing you would want to happen is for you to offer people a cold, wet awkward handshake.
