Christmas is a happy time of the year were many people tell tale about the birth of Jesus, and to visit their families or friends in a warm house to see the white pale snow trilling down like the silver rain does throughout spring. On every christmas eve i sit down and ponder on the couch looking at the radiants lights danced off and on thinking about what am i getting on christmas, after enjoying some of the slice I carefully drink the sugary brown and white swirls spinning in unison. Also on christmas eve we often see the movie Polar Express, I look at the upbeat kids trying to understand the movie. At 4 in the morning my older brother always wake me up and tells me you wake up the burned out kids from their beds, after waking up the
kids they all go down the stair with a befuddled face wondering why are they up at 4- in the morning.. As i reached for the light switch to turn on the sparkling lights, the confused turned their smile into joy opening colorful boxes and seeing what they get. Every christmas was a wonderful experience for me and my family “watching the joy on our faces my father say keep” my day going said dad. I looked outside to see the ivory color snowflakes dropping graceful out the sky,and that why i like christmas
The title to the novella 'A Christmas Carol' this suggests that the story will be a joyful Christian message. 'Christmas' is a time for celebration and togetherness. It is the time for forgiveness, kindness and charity. 'Carol' is a chant which a group of people sing Christmas and Christian songs, so this is meant to be a time where people have fun and are united with family and friends.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a story we are all familiar with, it captures a moment in time of blatant prejudices and inequality that spanned years from when it was written in 1939 to when it was released as a movie in 1964. However endearing the story may be, it is a testament to what conditions were socially accepted as normal during that time period. Originally written by Montgomery Ward to sell appliances, this story has an explicit lens of bigotry, inequality, and the importance of conforming to society.
My favorite holiday is Christmas because I feel joyful. Also, I can feel how warm the atmosphere is, almost like a fireplace. In an apartment with white walls, there is the living room with a tall, dark green Christmas tree decorated with colorful blue, pink and purple Christmas ornaments, and colorful red bright lights. In the meantime, my mom and my husband are cooking dinner, and there is the smell of a pumpkin candle burning on top of the table. While we wait for the food to be ready, we all sit down in the living room to watch some classic movies like “Rudolph”, “The Little Drummer Boy”, and even if it’s not classic “Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
In The Santa Clause when Charlie and Scott first go to the North Pole, Abby the elf talks about the North Pole to Scott saying, “Kids don’t have to see this place to know that it’s real. They just know.” This strikes home for children under the age of six, as the book states in chapter 6, “They believe that effective wishing takes a great deal of skill, and perhaps magic, but that it can be done. In related fashion, many believe that getting in good with Santa Clause can make their hopes come true.” Which correlates perfectly with a study which concluded that the average kid stops believing in Santa around six and a half, and seven-years’-old (Madrigal, 2012). Anyways, Charlie experiences a lot of stress and happiness throughout the movie because of the bioecological model, whether the stress or happiness is due to the microsystem or chronosystem.
Christmas has consumed itself. At its conception, it was a fine idea, and I imagine that at one point its execution worked very much as it was intended to. These days, however, its meaning has been perverted; its true purpose ignored and replaced with a purpose imagined by those who merely go through the motions, without actually knowing why they do so.

In the fictional play, A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley, by Israel Horovitz, Scrooge’s first impression is not very good. He refuses to donate to the poor, he dismisses family who want a relationship, and he is miserable and tries to make others the same way. When two men come to see Scrooge, they were asking for donations for the poor. Scrooge, being one of the wealthiest people in the community, is very dismissive, wrongfully so, and asks the two men to leave empty handed. When Scrooge asks if there are workhouses for the poor to go to, the men explain that most people would rather die than to go there. In response Scrooge states, “If they would rather die, than they had better do it and decrease the surplus in population.” (649) When

Paula Vogel, The Long Christmas Ride Home is a very interesting play that tells a story about a dysfunctional family on the holidays. There are three kids in this play which are, Stephen, Rebecca, and Claire. Rebecca is the oldest out of the three of them and believes that she is the only grown one. Claire is the youngest girl and the child that is most adored by the grandparents. Stephen is the only boy and i think goes through the most.
Fielding Dawson, in The Vertical Fields, describes attending church on Christmas Eve. In both Christmas and attending church, I find peace and comfort. Each sunday I attend church with my father, where the two of us sit together, singing praises with the choir and listening to my pastors informative sermons. Similarly, on Christmas Eve, me and my father (sometimes Jenna) go the evening candle light service, and afterward I go to my grandmother’s house for a family Christmas celebration on my mom’s side of the family. Chirstmas and church provide tranquility through the people, music, and atmosphere.
For many people, Christmas reminds them of the best time of the year; for others, it can be stressful and overwhelming, but in some cases the holiday season is one spent celebrating with loved ones and creating memories. This holiday spirit can be found in a variety genres of Christmas movies, representing both the positive and negative aspects of the holidays in a household, such as conflicts that lead to familial growth creating an overall cheery environment in the film. The movies used to represent this are Elf, Almost Christmas and Why him?.
What is Christmas all about? After reading the play a Dolls house Christmas, I realized that Christmas
Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For nearly two millennia Christmas has been observed by traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature. Popular customs include the decorating of the Christmas tree, exchanging gifts, attending church, and spending time with your friends and family and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive (History.Com/Christmas).
Christmas to me isn’t about all the flashy lights, ribbons, presents, or trees; the real reason for the season is the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Most people think just the opposite and lose sight of real meaning behind Christmas. Black Friday shopping has basically became a national holiday around the US simply because people are materialistic, and think things like the next new Xbox or play station is more important than spending time with their family. There is a big hint to the meaning of Christmas; the first word is Christ. I love waking up Christmas morning, and opening up my presents to see what all I got just as much as anyone, but I try my best not to let that be the best part of my day. Coming together
Ever since I could remember, I have spent Christmas at my grandmother’s house, a house which is full of comfort, warmth, and happiness. At Christmas, I have always been able to escape the cold and dark real world allowing myself to truly enjoy just several moments in time. These moments have left impressionable memories from my childhood making Christmas a holiday that is special to me and my family. It is a time for my family to get together, share stories, laugh, and even cry.
