There are several religions in the world with various believes and practices. In spite of the differences some religions share similar views. Two of the religions that share differences and similarities are Christianity and Islam. They are the two well-known monotheistic religions with a large portion of world population. They are similar in that their roots comes from another monotheistic religion called Judaism. Which originated in Middle East. They take their roots back to the historical prophetical figures like Abraham, Noah, Moses, and Jesus. Also they share the same view on ideologies like revelation, apostles, importance of religious community, importance of prayer, and believing in only one true God. They believe that this God created humans and the earth. They also believe that he controls everything that is going on in this world and beyond. In bible - sacred scripture of Christianity- there exists a book called Gospel of Mark. In this book Mark the author of book tells an extraordinary story of Jesus from the day he baptized to the day he died. This gospel is One of the four canonical gospels and the second book of the New Testament. While Jesus teaching the people about how to live a better life one man asked him which commandment is the pivotal. And Jesus responded saying ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength (Mark 12:29).” This is one the most important statement that tells us that Christianity is monotheistic. I will discuss about this in detail below. Similarly, there exists identical statement in Reading in the Qur’an. Reading in the Qur’an is written by Kenneth Cragg and it is a selected and translated form of Qur’an with an essay. In Reading in the Qur’an on page 142 Moses one prophet and religious leader encounters with God at mountain of Tur. And God says to Moses “I am God: there is no god but Me. Therefore serve Me and be at prayer, celebrating My Name.” This specific statement is taken from the original text of Surah 20.9-14. Surah is a chapter of Qur’an. When you look at those two
