and thanking him for everything. Here are two sayings from the Tripitaka(Buddhist holy book), "...a state that is not pleasing or delightful to me, how could I inflict that upon another?" Samyutta NIkaya v. 353. "Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful." Udana-Varga 5:18(two verses from the Buddhists holy book) Both of these sayings compare to Christianity's Golden Rule which is, "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." Matthew 7:12.

They expect that Buddhism will eventually fade from the scene. This belief is compatible with their principle that all objects, religions, etc. are impermanent. However, they expect that at some future time in the future, another person will attain Buddhahood -- the state of perfect enlightenment -- and will recreate a religion similar to

Buddhism.” Buddhists do not share most of the core beliefs of historical Christianity and many of the less critical beliefs accepted by some Christians. Buddhism does not teach, a Golden Era that was in the garden of Eden. A flood in the time of Noah. Jesus being the son of God but was born by a virgin named Mary. Jesus being crucified so everyone's sins have been washed away. Both religions have their own symbol of faith to represent them. Buddhism has the Eight spoked truth/wheel and Christianity has the cross. Christianity is a monotheistic religion and believes that Christ Is the Son Of God. Buddhist are a non-theistic religion meaning they don’t believe in God. Buddhist have no “God” that is the same as the Christian God meaning they don’t have a God at all.
Buddha is not just a human being, they viewed him as a remarkable human being who attained enlightement and out of bondless compassion show and affer guidence to all buddhists to save them from their sufferings.Personal mortality is followed by reincarnations after better or worse "rebirths" depending upon merit attained in previous lives.Buddhism's goal in the attainment Nirvana a state where cravings, desires and even "egos" cease, and because of the associated merit, one can hope to be freed from the endless chain of rebirths into suffering lives. Now on to christians, they have a personal God in Christianity.Personal mortality is followed by the judgement of God.One of Christianity's goals is to attain eternal life with God in heaven. An accomplishment that is seen as being a christian and who have faith in Jesus Christ, and are made righteous by Him.Given these substantial differences in doctrine,
the close similarity between Buddhist and Christian "Central" Spiritual Teachings is perhaps interesting/great! In conclusion, Buddhism teaches that humans are caught in a repetitive cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth. Each successive rebirth may be into a better life or a worse life, or a similar life, depending upon the person's Karma(the sins and merits that have accumulated during their present and previous lives). Christianity has taught that everyone has only a single life on earth. After death, depending on one's beliefs and/or actions are evaluated in the final judgment. An eternal life awaits everyone and depending on your judgment, it will be either in Heaven or Hell. There is absolutely no suffering in Heaven, only joy and happiness. In hell, there is fire everywhere and there will be suffering forever.
Both of these religions originated in India. Buddhists and Hindus believe that death is not final. They believe that a person comes back after he or she dies. This process is known as reincarnation, and it provides opportunities for people to enter the world multiple times in different forms. Buddhists and Hindus want to reenter the world as humans, and they want to improve their status through reincarnation.
It is said that history is shaped by the lives of great men. Great men are leaders. They bring about change; they improve the lives of others; they introduce new ideas, models, and theories to society. Most of the world's religions were founded, developed, or discovered by great men. Two particular religions - Christianity and Buddhism - developed in different parts of the world, under different circumstances, and in different social atmospheres. But each religion is based upon the teachings of a great man. When one compares the life of Buddha with the life of Jesus, one finds that the two share many things in common. This essay aims to compare and contrast the lives of Buddha1 and Jesus in two key areas: conception and birth. In these two areas, one finds that the Buddha and Jesus share many similarities.
Buddhism and Christianity were each founded by one person, and then eventually grew into two of the largest religions in the world. Each religion had different reasons

This paper is a comparison between two very different religions. Specifically Christianity and Buddhism. Coming from opposite sides of the globe these two religions could not be any farther apart in any aspect. I will discuss who Christ is for Christians and who Buddha is for Buddhists. I will also get into the aspects of charity, love, and compassion in both religions and I will be looking at the individual self and how christians see resurrection where the buddhists feel about the afterlife. One thing to keep in mind is that the two religions are very different but they seem to have a very similar underlying pattern. Both believe that there was a savior of their people, Buddha and Christ, and both believe that there is something good that happens to us when our time is done here on earth. This is a very generalized summarization but in order to go in to depth I need to explain the two religions more to fully convey this theory.
By understanding the concepts and terminology of religious traditions it is important to understand other people 's religious experience and expression. To begin with, both Buddhism and Judaism are two different forms of religion with some similarities. Buddhist’s believe they are reborn from a previous life until they reach nirvana, which is the extinction of all desire and release from suffering. In comparison to Judaism, they believe that they are made in the likeness of God and come into the world with the capacity to choose for good or evil. Judaism follows in practicing the Ten Commandments and find happiness in other humans. Buddhist has the same opportunity in his or her life and can find fulfillment in thinking and following in the correct path. Lastly, as Buddhists do not worship a God who created and sustains the world, this makes Buddhism a non-theistic
While Nirvana is the ultimate spiritual attainment, most ordinary Buddhists show their commitment to the Buddha through several religious practices. The basic motives behind Buddhist practices mirror with those behind the Catholic tradition (Seay (2001,p.58). Both traditions aim to create togetherness within their community by developing a sense of communion with all present through a group activity. Some of these activities include group prayer/meditation and group singing/chanting. Another motive behind some Buddhist and Catholic practices is the principle of suffering, a significant element of religious tradition. This principle was formed on the basis of the suffering endured by Saddartha Gutama and Jesus Christ and is put into practice through traditions like achieving Nirvana and Le...
Buddhism is a nontheistic religion, meaning that practitioners of the Buddhist religion do not recognize or worship a God. Instead, practicing Buddhists follow the teachings of a man named Siddhartha Gautama, who is more commonly known as Buddha. The term “Buddha” can be translated to mean “the awakened one”. Buddha’s followers recognize his as the enlightened teacher who would be able to help them let go of human wants, desires and ignorance to the goal of reaching a state of nirvana. The two different major branches of Buddhism are ...
Both these religions have basic beliefs that are relatively different from each other. Buddhists on one hand believe in karma, rebirth, dharma and moksa. Karma is "cause, effect and the law which equilibrates the two" . It is the consequences of every action, whether good or bad. This action-reaction may take effect anytime, may be in the current life or not. Rebirth is inter-connected with karma. If one did more good things than bad in his life, his karma will lead him to a life of better condition than the previous one. Dharma is the basic concept of the religion; that is the Buddhist teaching, also meaning the nature of existence. Lastly, moksa refers to the renunciation of the world, which is parallel to the Hindu belief in the importance of asceticism and meditation .
Although Buddhism and Christianity show several parallels, their three key differences are that Buddhists do not believe in one divine being, and have different views about both the purpose of life and the concept of afterlife. Buddhists do not believe in a Supreme Being, God or Creator, though many Buddhists today worship the Buddha - the central figure of Buddhism - and his teachings. They view him as someone with a universal spirit, an essence that can be attained by everyone rather than only a higher deity that rules over the world (Brown). Especially in Mahayana Buddhism, the concept of the Buddha nature is fundamental (“Pure Land”).... ...
