Christian Drug Rehab Centers−Treating Today’s Challenges
Drug addiction and/or alcoholism should be taken seriously, regardless of the stages of addiction. Alcoholic or drug addicted people have the right to be provided high levels of care and counseling in order to assist with recovery while bringing them back into a normal, healthy and stable lifestyle. The idea is to conquer this sickness as soon as possible (i.e. once the addiction is detected in people). Addiction caused serious health hazards and can endanger the life of the addicts, their families, along with the highly cherished social relationships.
The Christian drug rehab centers are well reputed, due to their provision of offering and giving a premier level of care and counseling

These centers follow a sheer method of enacting faith in Christ and share the message of Christ with the addicts. The addicts are given a mean to get recovered by spreading the message into them that they should seek the shelter of a merciful God who is persistently showing them the right path and He will help those who seek His help and mercy with due attention.
In relation to Christian drug rehab centers, the approach is to treat alcohol substance abuse and drug addicted people, by applying the Christian recovery ideology. In these centers, recovery programs are designed to provide a spot on spiritual experience. The philosophy behind that is to confirm the love of Jesus to his people and the mercy of loving God for those who strive to come back to follow the correct path.
Available in Florida
A good number of Christian drug rehab centers are available in Florida. These centers have their own recovery programs and counseling services. The recovery methods, plans, and programs are designed considering the needs of the addicted people and they may vary from center to center. The cost of availing the recovery treatment may also vary as each center has its own approach of treating the addicted people. Certain treatment centers do provide inpatient recovery treatment services only while other centers do offer both inpatient and outpatient
The center combines a safe housing environment with structured educational programs that incorporate the philosophies of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Alcoholism is as prevalent in my family, as blood is in our veins. When previously asked to observe 12-step groups, I ritualistically flocked to Alcoholics Anonymous, without consideration of the possibility that other groups had any potential to make an impact on me. I always pride myself in my ability to identify as an individual that is not ensnared in alcoholism, but unfortunately am an individual that was highly tormented by alcoholism. Through observation of the group and how it processed, as well as identifying how I felt as a new attendee, I was able to understand why self-help, support groups are so vital for individuals in recovery. I finally realized, I too am in recovery.
The number one book sold for over a decade, seizing to be a fad or a trend has been the Bible. In a study of New York prisoners, studies found that those who participated in a Prison Fellowship Bible Study were rearrested drastically less compared to the amount of prisoners those whom did not. Of those who took part in the Bible study, 14 percent were rearrested within one year, compared to those who choose to not participate was 41 percent. In a similar case, at a Texas prison, out of 80 prisoners who took part in the Prison Fellowship, a whopping five percent are back in prison. In a Public Health Service, which is strongly Christian oriented, done of Teen Challenge’s Drug treatment program, by a Northwestern University doctoral student, it was found that it was more effective with the participants than that of its counterparts. With these examples, it becomes credible that with faith-based programs long term results are received, which further exemplifies my position upon the integration of Christian faith into the homeless shelter environment.
Some of the local and nearby drug rehab programs include Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Detoxification, Buprenorphine Used in Treatment, Naltrexone (oral), Vivitrol (injectable Naltrexone), Community Mental Health Center, Hospital Inpatient, and Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment. Drug and alcohol rehab programs in the area provide residents with treatment methods ranging from “traditional” recovery options to those that offer alternative styles (e.g. holistic medicine). While the decision to get help with drug or alcohol addiction problems is often a personal choice, many people include their loved ones in the process in order to obtain insight and a different perspective. Ultimately, it is up to the addicted individual to make the effort and changes necessary to overcome their addiction
On February 27, 2014, I visited an Alcohol Anonymous (A.A) therapeutic group meeting called Another Chance. Another Chance is an intergroup meeting located inside the Concord Baptist Church of Christ, at 833 Gardner C. Taylor Boulevard, Brooklyn, NY 11216. Another Chance has been in operation for over thirty years, and holds open discussion meetings on alcohol use and prevention, every Thursday from six in the evening until seven o’clock. This group interaction with alcohol substance use and abuse focuses on helping all members regardless of race, ethnicity or culture, to abstain from drinking one day at a time; and encourages them to maintain healthy thoughts and emotions through the use of the “Twelve Steps and Traditions” of recovery and intervention approaches.
Treatment for substance abuse vital to reduce prison recidivism rate, The Medical News, March 14, 2008,http://www.news-medical.net/news/2008/03/14/36306.aspx
I attended an AA meeting at the 5th street fellowship on October 6, 2015. I looked forward to attending this meeting since the beginning of the clinical rotation. The meeting exceeded my expectations. It was an eye-opener and a life changing experience. The meeting at the 5th Street Fellowship consisted of a leader and two members. Even though there was only a smaller group gather, I could see the positive impact AA has had on each of the members personally, regardless of years of sobriety. The chairman of the group discussed the influence his sponsor, AA, and the 12-step program has had on his life and how he lives a happier, healthier, and a spiritual life due to his sobriety. I learned that all three components - sponsor, AA, and the 12-steps – are important in aiding in the sobriety of an

The amount of support that the recovering addict receives is the main source of their success when it comes to avoiding relapse. The amount of support is different depending on where they are treated. In rehab facilities, there are often programs that are created to help those who are ready to leave the facility, but who still want some support if they need it. The facility will often work with the recovering addict to make sure they have a place to live, a job so they can get themselves back up on their feet, and will often assign this person a mentor to help them as they learn to avoid the normal temptations of their past life. This is unlike prison where once an addict leaves the prison walls, they are often on their own. Though many addicts find that they can get support from their friends and family, sometimes this is not enough. Sometimes, these addicts go to programs like Alcohol anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) that are open to anyone who needs the help. There is a large gap when it comes to the amount of support that a recovering addict receives once out of rehab compared to once they are out of prison. A recovering addict has connections with his doctors who treated him while he was in rehab compared to the addict who came from prison who may the have a sponsor who he is
An addiction counselor is a support system for someone that is having problems with drug and alcohol problems, eating disorders and other addictive problems they are having. They teach people how to modify their behaviors with the intention of a full recovery. One step at a time. One hour at a time. One day at a time. This talks about how the counselors are helping one step at a time, they are doing it one hour at a time, and they are doing it one day at a time, this is all helping the addicted person through it all. It is critical to have someone there for them at all times and addiction counselors provide this support that they need. After receiving the training one is able to enjoy this career with the great reward of helping others.
In patient programs can also be very effective, especially for those with more severe problems. They are highly structured programs in which patients remain at a residence, typically for 6 to 12 months. Treatment Centers differ from other treatment approaches principally in their use of the community—treatment staff and those in recovery—as a key agent of change to influence patient attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors associated with drug use. Patients in TCs may include those with relatively long histories of drug addiction, involvement in serious criminal activities, and seriously impaired social functioning. The focus of the TC is on the resocialization of the patient to a drug-free, free living lifestyle and delivers healthy coping mechanisms for individuals that have not been able to function in society without the use of a mood altering substance.
a wise man recognizes the face of necessity. It is of great importance for persons to be mindful of destructive elements in their communities. In doing so the safety and positive growth of such a community can be realized and maintain. Substance abuse is a very destructive force, that is why it is important to have the right support in the community to help individuals get over it. Proper management of this condition is also crucial in order to help individuals affected to get fully recovered overtime. Therefore, elements such as drug abuse is relative and to talk about, and the recovery resolution.
Addicts suffering from alcoholism should make the effort to join an AA meeting. I believe meetings can truly help addicts become successful in their recovery. As evidenced by the members of the group I observed, meeting with fellow addicts who understand and has lived through the struggles of addiction, AA meeting is a great resource. Not too long ago, I had a hard time deciding my feelings of people with substance abuse. I strongly felt that this was a choice, however, at the same time, a small part of myself understood that this was a disease. As I have been learning more about substance use, I have been more on the side that substance abuse is a disease. After attending the AA meeting, it was confirmed for me that addiction is a disease. Although it may start out as a poor choice, it ultimately is a disease that affects that brain. Listening to the speakers, I felt really bad about my negative activities towards substance use. I know longer believe that addicts have the choice to completely stop their addiction. They need help from others to overcome the disease. Programs such as AA provides the fellowship that addicts need in recovering from
A substance abuse counselor is a person who helps people that are struggling with alcoholism and/or drug addiction. Substance abuse counselors provide patients with treatment and support while they are working to overcome their addiction and piece their lives back together. In addition, substance abuse counselors help patients’ families cope with their loved one’s disease and subsequent recovery. Finally, substance abuse counselors may work to spread awareness of addiction throughout the community by starting up/working for outreach programs.
Drug and alcohol abuse has become a worldwide epidemic within today’s society. The battle against drugs and alcohol is not going to diminish. Therefore, we as a society need to work together to address these problems while incorporating successful treatment plans and services for these individuals. The addiction to these substances does not only effect oneself, but can also have profound consequences for the children and families.
