Choosing A GAP Year After High School

Some people go right to college after high school, while others take a year or more off to work or travel. A GAP year gives people a chance to find themselves and see what they actually want to go to college for. But to me I don’t think taking a GAP year is a good idea. Because you just got out of school, you should just jump back into it… besides it's only four years. When you think about taking a gap year you really need to make a pros and cons list. Taking a GAP year may not be for you.
There are many supporting reason to consider when thinking about taking a GAP year. While taking a GAP year you will have time to financially prepare yourself for college, you won’t be in debt which is great. A break can give you time to think about what you really want to do with your life, what profession you would like to pursue. If you get the chance to travel somewhere you might not ever get to travel to again and you feel like it’s right, then do it! You just got of high school, the years that prepared you for college. The classes you took in high school taught you some very important things that you will need to remember for college, what if taking that year off makes you forget a lot? Then it wasn’t worth it. Some people are already sick of high school and they know college is only four years, but if they take that year off they may become too lazy to go back to school. Later in life you would regret your decision. I believe it’ best to go to college immediately after high school, finish your education, and then when you are working and making money then go on vacation. You won’t have to worry about what’s next, or how am i going to go back to school. You will be done and it will feel so much better when you are making the money that you know you should be.
