As it melts in my mouth, I can feel the sensation of my taste buds thriving and salivating. It is like a whole new experience every time I have another piece of it. My mind is filled with the same “oohs” and “ahh’s” that I remember from before, as I can taste it slowly melting in my mouth. I have to get another piece as soon as possible. Chocolate is like the fire to my desire; the crème de la crème. I could eat it all day long without ever getting sick of it. The brown, silky smooth wrapper on the milk chocolate Hersey’s bar crunches as I open it, sounding like the crunching of fall leaves when you step on them. The silver, foil wrapper that surrounds this wonderful creation reflects in the light, like a new piece of polished platinum. With every bite that I get closer to finishing this delicious chocolate bar, I regret eating it too fast because I just crave more after it is gone. The sweet smell of the chocolaty goodness makes my mouth water just thinking about how good it will be when I have another piece. The smooth, thick candy bar is brown and has the indentation of “HERSE...

“His decision to focus on the production of the Hershey milk chocolate bar is now hailed as one of the most important decisions in the history of American business” (Milton Hershey 1). Certain aspects of Milton Hershey’s life are impossible to not take notice of. A simple chocolate bar completely changed the world of business, Milton S. Hershey impacted the world in a huge way.
Dickens uses verbal irony in his description of the Monseigneur’s chocolate ritual by showing that he must have four men prepare his hot chocolate. If only three men to prepare his hot chocolate it is difficult for him to swallow it. “Yes. It took four men, all four a-blaze with gorgeous decoration”(108). This quote shows how Monseigneur needs specifically four men because each man has one job it has to do like give Monseigneur a napkin, “presented the favoured napkin”(108). “Monseigneur could swallow many things with ease, and was by some few sullen minds supposed to rather be rapidly swallowing France” (108). Dickens uses irony to show the ridiculous situation of the ritual to how France is being destroyed. He uses this to show the contrast as a lord to a servant.
Before Milton Hershey had a world wide known chocolate business, he had a small, not so well known caramel business. Milton Hershey began his chocolate making business in 1893, when his father and him traveled to Chicago to attend a big job fair (Tarshis 14), but it wasn’t until 1900 when Hershey succeed in making the first milk chocolate candy bar (The Hershey Company). Hershey attended an exhibit hall of new and amazing inventions around the world at the fair in Chicago. As Hershey walked into the exhibit hall, he was struck by a delectable smell (Tarshis 14). “Hershey was already a leading candy maker. He had created the largest caramel factory in the country, but he became convinced that the future of his business would be chocolate. At the fair in Chicago, Hershey Bought chocolate-making equipment. He had it shipped back to his caramel factory in Pennsylvania. Then he hired two chocolate makers. Soon the company was churning out chocolate candies in more than 100 shapes” (Tarshis 15).
As I picked up a cookie and blew on it, the hot chocolate chip on top got stuck on the tip of my fingers. I licked off the melted chocolate chip on my fingers and took a little bite into the rich soft chocolate chip to fully enjoy it. The smell of the chocolate chip cookies filled the air in the small kitchen then eventually escaped into the living room.

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream was founded on the corporate concept of linked prosperity, interrelating a three-part mission statement to focus their company’s growth. Their mission statement, which covers their product, economic and social goals, focuses both the leadership and the workforce on their key values. These values include staying in touch with the customer base, using quality ingredients, maintaining profitability and maintaining social awareness and accountability.
Chocolate made the journey from Mesoamerica to Spain, and then to other European countries, including England. Not long after the sweetness was tasted in London, it traveled across the Atlantic to the North American colonies. It is possible to have traveled there directly from Jamaica after the island had been seized from Spain. However, the most genuine explanation is that high Colonial officials carried it with them when they were assigned to their administrative posts in Virginia and Massachusetts.
Sweetness and Power is a historical study of sugar and its affect on society and economy since it was first discovered. So as your "Trick or Treating" or just having a simple snack of chocolate, remember how the simple bar got there through a complex serious of processes.
Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and the amazing success the company has experience over the years could be loosely summed up as a story that began with two friends coming together with a vision to create a company that did not adhere to the traditional corporate rules of running a business. They both had certain ideals and a socially and economic responsible opinion on how a capitalist business should be run. There are a lot of similarities in the way this company is run and operated when compared to South West Airlines. They are of course offering two different things to there customers, South West providing a service where Ben and Jerry’s are providing a product but the way that they go about there daily business in the spirit of treating people a certain way, and setting out to complete a different kind of vision then say a more traditional company would is very similar.
My point is proven by influenster.com when they said, “The creamy chocolate to crisp, sugary wafer ratio is always perfect, and breaking them apart makes them fun to eat!.” This comment proves my point by showing that the chocolate is a big part of the candy that ties it all together. Other evidence from influenster.com says, “ UMMMMMMM!!!! FAVORITE CHOCOLATE, I love the crunchy little wafers inside each bar.” This quote definitely proves my statement because it shows that many people love the chocolate. The last statement from influenster.com says, “The combination of a crispy wafer with tasty milk chocolate works well and makes for a satisfying snack.” This proves my point by showing that the milk chocolate has a really good taste that works well with the rest of the bar. These are some reasons why the chocolate from the kit kat bar is so
In 2013, about 7.4 million tons of chocolate is expected to be consumed globally, totaling to nearly $110 billion (Pardomuan, Nicholson). I can honestly say that I will be one of the many people who contribute immensely to those massive quantities. Chocolate has always been one of my guilty pleasures, leading me to consider myself a “chocoholic.” After 20 years of eating chocolate, I learned there is more to chocolate than meets the eye. Many chemicals compose each delicious piece creating multiple psychological effects on the mind. With the knowledge of the chemical and psychological influences that chocolate has on the human mind and body and my own curiosity as to why I love it so much, this led me to ask: Why is chocolate considered such a pleasurable and craveable food?
There is nothing any better than a good piece of chocolate. Its rich, its creamy, its smooth, and it makes us feel so-o-o-o good for a few moments of course, that is; until the guilt of the calories kick in. Chocolate happens to be one of my favorite sweets. The wonderful creamy milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, white chocolate, or even my personal favorite a silky dark chocolate, the choices are hard. I sat down this weekend to really think about, and compare the differences. I compared my two favorite types of chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is usually paired with nuggets, nuts, creams or caramels, but the dark chocolate is best with a wine such as a Muscat Canelli. Either makes a great desert, treat, or snack for anyone.
