This story started a few years ago when I was watching my mom cook. It always smelled like chocolate chip cookies, cake, or something sweet. But I always imagined cookies in my head because those were my favorite. Then my mom dropped the pan on the counter and she asked "Want a cookie?" I was like "yea." She grabbed a hot cookie from the tray and handed it to me. I was really excited because I've never had a cookie before. I went to bite it "HOT!" I scream. I went for another bite and it was astonishing. Bite after bite I ate the whole cookie. I went to ask for another but she turned me down. She said "You can have one later. " I was happy with that. But then I waited and waited and I was growing way inpatient. When I saw my mom pull another batch out I didn't even ask I reached out and stole a cookie from the counter. I screamed "Ow!" Because the cookie was extremely hot. This batch tasted really sweet and it was really good still. These cookies are the best thing I've had. When she made another batch I touched it when it was hot and it was really mushy and gooey. …show more content…
It seemed so good and so long since I've had a cookie. My mom seemed like she was taunting me over there still making cookies and not letting me get another. I stole another and my mom didn't see me take it, I was like a ninja. I heard the doorbell ring "Doo de doo doo do de doo do." I jumped out of my seat and went flying over to the door to see who it was. It was my cousin
Madelyn McQueen - Twin Falls Idaho Have you ever wondered how the delicious, classic treat came to be? Well, any event you can think of after the date of 1938, the cookie was bound to be there. Several stories about how the country’s favorite baked good came to be, have been spread and believed by thousands. For example, Ruth Wakefield unexpectedly ran out of nuts for a regular ice-cream cookie recipe and, in desperation, replaced them with chunks chopped out of a bar of Nestle bittersweet chocolate. Another story is said that the vibrations from an industrial mixer caused chocolate stored on a shelf in the Toll House kitchen to fall into a bowl of cookie dough as it was being mixed. Sadly, all of these stories are false, says Carolyn Wyman in her recently published “Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book.” In her book, Wyman offers a more believable version of how the cookie came to be. Wyman argues, that Ruth Wakefield, who had a degree in household arts and a reputation for perfectionism, would not have allowed her restaurant, which was famed for its desserts, to run out of such
Before I knew it, I was on my eighth cookie, but decided that it still wasn't enough. I knew that it was a bad idea to have some more, but I went for it anyway. By the time that I was on my eleventh cookie, I could feel myself getting sick because of all that sugar. The worse part was that I also had a sugar rush, which was an awful experience because I ended up crashing from all that
Traditionally, Twinkies are usually thought of as cream-filled yellow sponge cakes. To Chinese Americans, a different image is conjured. When Chinese Americans integrate with the American culture so much that their Chinese culture is much less apparent, they are known as “Twinkies”: yellow on the outside and white on the inside. In Amy Tan’s essay “Mother Tongue” and Elizabeth Wong’s essay “The Struggle to be an All-American Girl”, both girls are Chinese American trying to fit in with the American society while their Chinese mother’s are very traditional at home. Tan and Wong are trying to please their image in America and their mothers at the same time. While these essays are similar because they focus on the native languages used in America and the struggles of being a Chinese American in America, they differ in both their attitudes toward their mothers and personal reflections of being Chinese American.
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream was founded on the corporate concept of linked prosperity, interrelating a three-part mission statement to focus their company’s growth. Their mission statement, which covers their product, economic and social goals, focuses both the leadership and the workforce on their key values. These values include staying in touch with the customer base, using quality ingredients, maintaining profitability and maintaining social awareness and accountability.
Chocolate made the journey from Mesoamerica to Spain, and then to other European countries, including England. Not long after the sweetness was tasted in London, it traveled across the Atlantic to the North American colonies. It is possible to have traveled there directly from Jamaica after the island had been seized from Spain. However, the most genuine explanation is that high Colonial officials carried it with them when they were assigned to their administrative posts in Virginia and Massachusetts.
I went out in the afternoon to do a few errands. In the middle of my errands I got hungry and was passing by my house so I stopped in to eat a snack. I had half of a giant chocolate chip cookie paired with some coconut
When I was younger, and even to this day I have always enjoyed sweets, and candy. One day, as a child, I was in the living room by myself eating lifesavers; the hard candy type. The way I would eat the lifesavers would be to suck them until they were not as hard and then bite them into smaller pieces to swallow. However, before I was able to bite into it while sucking on it I accidentally swallowed it. Once it was stuck in my throat I panicked because no matter how many times I tried to swallow it would not go down. I went to go get my mom who was thankfully home in her room. Once I got her she was panicking as well concerned about the fact that I was choking. She then called my Dad and asked him what to do, He then told her to calm down and get some water for me and told her to tell me to drink slowly, and keep drinking until it melted.
As everyone knows in order to be the best cookie, the cookie has to have amazing flavor. I asked my family members to volunteer and taste test each brand of cookies and rate them on a scale from one to three for their flavor. My family members ate each cookie and checked off which brand they preferred. The results show the brand of cookie with the best flavor was Keebler’s Original Soft Batch. Taste testers enjoyed the rich and smooth chocolate in the cookie. The cookie with the second best flavor was Chips Ahoy! brand cookies. Taste testers liked this cookies similarity to cookie dough, but did not enjoy the flavor as much as Keebler’s Original Soft Batch. The cookie with the worst flavor was the Cub Foods brand cookies because their taste was fake and stale. After looking at these results I found Americans prefer the flavor of Keebler’s Original Soft Batch cookies to have the best taste.

Every year, huge amounts are baked and consumed, but this favorite treat is surprisingly new to the dessert world, considering its popularity with both adults and children. Yet, while thousands of recipes exist, few wonder what the very first was. In 1930, just as the Great Depression was beginning Ruth and Kenneth Wakefield opened up a restaurant they called the Toll House.

Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and the amazing success the company has experience over the years could be loosely summed up as a story that began with two friends coming together with a vision to create a company that did not adhere to the traditional corporate rules of running a business. They both had certain ideals and a socially and economic responsible opinion on how a capitalist business should be run. There are a lot of similarities in the way this company is run and operated when compared to South West Airlines. They are of course offering two different things to there customers, South West providing a service where Ben and Jerry’s are providing a product but the way that they go about there daily business in the spirit of treating people a certain way, and setting out to complete a different kind of vision then say a more traditional company would is very similar.
When I came inside I was so cold that I felt like a ice cube so my mom made me some hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was steaming hot! I had to wait for 8 mins, but it was worth it because it was so tasty and warm. My mom then told me that dinner was done. When I had smelt the delicious dinner mom made, my stomach had roared with hunger and I swear everyone heard it. We had a giant turkey, some mashed potatoes, and mac cheese it was the perfect family dinner, so delicious. When dinner was done, my mom said I had to lay down for school tomorrow so I leaped in my warm, cozy bed and put the covers over me and my mom said “Goodnight.” Man, today just seemed to fly by so quickly with all the excitement I had. As i drifted off to sleep all i could think about was how much fun my day was and I wish every week we had a snow
All business has to follow proper protocols in order for their company to flourish and be successful. Depending on the type of business will determine the steps you have to take. In the case of the Home-Style Cookies, the management has to obtain orders from the distributors. It’s almost like buying into contracts with different companies that will utilize your products. After the orders are received, the production is then scheduled. Then the master lists of ingredients for the cookies are delivered to each individual responsible for the mixing. It is imperative for that individual to check the list to make sure all ingredients are listed correctly to properly fulfill the needs of the customer.
I jumped out of the car with my two sisters and ran to the bathroom. When we left the bathroom, we walked back to the car. We saw that our dad was still putting gas in the car, so we went into the store to buy some sweets. I bought “warheads” that said extremely sour, and a bag of chips called “baked with fire” that looked like they would taste really hot. When we purchased our food, we walked back to the car. As soon as we started driving, I opened my bag of chips. I was so scared that they would be extremely hot. For that reason, I also bought a bottle of water. I opened it before I took a bite out of the chip. Luckily, they were not hot at all! I grabbed my sour candy and tasted it. My face changed so quickly; that I started to squint my eyes and point my lips. I could not take another bite of it because it was really sour! Eventually, I was not hungry anymore. Probably because I ate my whole bag of chips and a sandwich. When I finished eating, I was feeling exhausted, so I took a long nap. I woke up, and dad told me that we only needed to drive for one more hour. While we were driving through town, we saw a row of trees on fire! It was so smoky that we could barely see the street we were driving on. I felt scared for life and terrified that we might crash. After a few more minutes of driving, the smoke cleared up and we could see again. Finally, the hour passed and we arrived in California. Mrs.
