“The Banking Concept of Education”, this article’s author is Paulo Freire. Freire refer to the “communication” this word. In the Paulo Frere’s “The “Banking” Concept of Education”, Freire discussed about the banking concept of education and problem-posing education. He believed that the banking concept of education is wrong. In his opinion, the banking concept of education just like an act of depositing, the student just like a depositories and the teacher like a depositor. There are not any communication ability between the teacher and students. The teacher makes deposit and student remember those. In the Paulo Freir’s article, he said that in the banking concept of education, teacher not to communicate with their students and it will make students lack of exchange, lack of reform and lack of knowledge. No communication, no research and practice, students that in the banking concept of education will be eliminated. He also thought that if a person wants to survive, it is must continue with others. And continue to others need real communication. When there is effective communication between students and teachers, it will have a great benefit. Communication makes learning easier, help students achieve their goals, increase opportunities for study and strengthening connections between students and teachers. I was born in China and grew up in the China. In my education careen, I think that I was lose the exploration ability. In the Chinese primary school and high school, our Chinese teacher asked us to recite a lot of ancient Chinese prose. And in the Math and Chemical class, our teacher asked us to remember a lot of formula. In the class, we have to keep in mind the notes in order not to forget the teacher says each knowledge points. In the school, we should have eight classes every day. And there were also a lot of homework when the student after the school. For example, teacher would ask student to copy the text and do a lot of questions. If a student does not finish the homework on time, he will be punished. The teacher would ask him to copy the text to make student remember it deeply. However, a lot of students do not know the meaning of those ancient prose and they also don’t know how to use those mathematical and chemical formulas. They just remember it and in the exam, students just know use the number into the equation. They do not know how the formula was derived. In the Chinese education, the most important things for Chinese students were to text. China is a country of examination-oriented education. When I graduating from my junior high school, I need to participate in senior high school entrance examination. I would receive my score and by virtue of my score choose my high school.
Society holds a beneficial belief that education is a very prominent source that is necessary to engage in life’s successes. Education gives one the endurance to gain knowledge and the will power to accomplish goals and reach high standards. It allows individuals to know and understand the skills of life and the values it hold. Education has a history that has been around for hundreds of years that continuously develops as education improves, but the history of equal opportunity in education must continuously improve as well. Although education is known for its good deeds, inequality still plays a significant role in education today. There are opportunities that students must receive to relinquish some inequalities that are still present in education today.
