This paper will explore the impact of a child with learning disability in the family. A family with a child’s learning disability will provide support throughout the child’s development. It will help a child become successful with the learning disability throughout elementary to college. A child with a learning disability sometimes isn’t able to learn effectively like other children. A child with a learning disability has a difficult time trying to stay focused without getting distracted. The child starts to feel isolated because sometimes they feel like they aren’t smart enough and won’t get the grades they want.

Two of the learning disabilities group are the developmental learning disabilities and academic learning disabilities. The developmental learning disability consists of a basic psychological process in a child’s academic which includes attention, retention, perception, thinking and learning processes. The academic learning disability consists of children in various classroom levels that are related to learning to read, write, spell, and calculate. In some schools, they have a resource room for children with disability that helps them with their academics and developmental problems. Families have to buy new technology for children with disabilities because they have tough time processing information and to sacrifice opportunities to participate in social activities. Some people consider the resource room and learning disability to be a two side because children with disabilities are the ones that use the resource room most often. The learning disability categories is the most common category with all type of mixed children with special needs. A resource room is a room where school specialized the academics for children with special needs. Children who are in a resource room are most likely to have a special schedule and receive other classes other than regular classes.
