Child Soldiers In War

In a significant part of the world, there are many countries that recruit child to become soldiers against their will. Child soldiers are being utilized to commit horrendous actions that people would not believe could be done by just kids. The United States should intervene in wars where child soldiers are being used ,because they are transformed against their will,being killed and the ones who survived are more likely to become psychopaths.

Firstly, It is very hard to understand that an innocent kid who is having fun, learning and discovering the world and all the great things about life, wants to become a deadly killing machine by itself. Children are being conducted into a bloody soldier against their will and opinion,”None of them remembers a time without war, most were turned into soldiers against their will”(Santoro). Kids are the most amazing creatures in the world, they should be available to choose their career and the path they want to follow in life. Every person in the world should remember their childhood like the happiest stage in their lives and to follow their

own dreams. Most of the kids have no choices buy the one , that is to survive;”My squad is my family, my gun is my provider, and protector, and my rule is to kill or be killed.”(Beah ,119). Child soldiers are forced to become a soldier and kill if they want to survive. These kids don’t have the privilege to choose their preference and to pursue their dreams, instead they are becoming bloody killers against their will.
Secondly, the soldier kids are being killed, they are going to suicide missions with no experience and being forced to commit horrifying and brutal actions. For those who survived, it is most likely that they will end up with mental or physical disabilities. “Around the world are more than 250,000 child soldiers deployed in active combat today.Six million child soldiers have become disabled or displaced, and two million have been killed”(Debchaudhury). If a child soldier does not die, it will have a big possibility of ending disable. Therefore,They can get traumatized and that would not be one of the worst sequels of being a child soldier, “At night, some of them wake up from nightmares, sweating, screaming, and punching their own heads to drive out the images that continue to torment them even when they are no longer asleep.Other boys would wake up and start choking whoever was in the bed next to theirs”(Beah,148). Traumatisation and the instinct to react in a certain way are some of the disabilities, child soldiers can end up with. Most importantly, these are kids who are being killed and the ones that survived can carry some devasting disabilities with them for life.
Thirdly, there are possibilities that child soldiers can definitely become more dangerous individuals and perhaps can become psychopaths.

Scientific studies prove that “ psychotic symptoms have been associated with post-traumatic stress disorder and war experience”.(Amone-P’olak). A real thought from a child soldier shows the reality of a soldier into society, “perhaps the naïve foreigners thought that removing them from the war would lessen their hatred for the RUF. It hadn’t crossed their minds that a change of environment wouldn’t immediately make them normal boys; they are dangerous and brainwashed to kill.”(Beah,135). These thought explains the effect of a child soldier trying to recover at first to become a regular individual. Child soldiers, can be dangerous, even thought after the war has ended and can affect the society that they are surrounded

by.
There are many important reasons like the ones mentioned to prove why the United States should help countries where child soldiers are being utilized, but they are people who disagree with this way of thinking. An argument that some people would say is that each country has their own issues, and that every government should solve and better the lives of their citizens. Not every country has the infrastructure and the power to solve all the issues and help their people, the countries who are able to do it, like the United States should help them so that we create a better world. Another argument that people would say is, why help others without getting anything back. Helping countries with child soldiers is not a matter of money or material benefits, it is the benefit and satisfaction of helping the human race and protect the most vulnerable humans in the world, that is the biggest satisfaction somebody can get. There can be plenty of reason of not helping kids who are living a nightmare, but the true reason is to help build a better world.
The United States Of America really needs to help the countries where the most precious and vulnerable of the human kind are being tortured and killed. People need to realize that countries that have power need to help the poor and especially where kids are having cruel and miserable lives.
