Chi Yung Case Study

It is a great pleasure for me to write this letter of recommendation for Chi-Ying Sun to attend your graduate school in Information at the University of Michigan. I work for Swan Songs, a non-profit organization that brings musical last wishes to individuals with terminal illness. Chi-Ying and I have worked closely together on two film projects about our organization and the families we serve.

While collaborating with Chi-Ying, she showed her strong commitment to serve others. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly as she spent a lot of time communicating with the families to learn about their stories, needs, and concerns. The documentaries Chi-Ying made are unique, long-lasting memories for not only the families but also for everyone involved in the process. I was impressed by her efforts in making the films happen. Chi-Ying’s extraordinary interpersonal and listening skills make her a genuinely lovely individual to work with. Even after the completion of the projects, Chi-Ying still maintains good relationships with everyone.

She delivered her proposal and project description to our team and the families in advance to ensure every participant understood the scope and the goal of the films. It really helped me evaluate which families would agree to be filmed. Since the concerts dealt with private matters, the families had different requests for the filming. Chi-Ying did a great job working with the families and her team to fulfill the demands and solve any issues they had. Every time I provided Chi-Ying the families’ contact information, she was always proactive in communications.
