What happened to these abandoned cities in the first place? Most cities are abandoned due to lack of money, Invasions, or gas leaks (Radioactive). In some cases some cities/towns are abandoned, because gold ran out, or the environment just isn’t liveable. When most cities are abandoned a lot gets left behind, but that’s not always the case. Some places take every little thing. Other places like Chernobyl have all kinds of things left behind, toys, clothes, beds, books, and even medicines. Chernobyl looks like it’s been stuck in time (minus the decaying), all due to a gas leak causing the town to become radioactive, and unsafe. People who were crazy about gold came to this town within months. Two dozen of peoples came in daily just to mine gold, and after a while it was a full town. About 10,000 people lived in that town within 6 months. Bodie was a violent town, there was many fights, and shootings. It was actually one of the most deadly towns back then. Like most boom towns, Bodie eventually died down. The population decreased until the 1940s, when the last residents finally left the soon forgotten town. Although, Bodie has made a comeback by becoming one of the nation’s most well preserved abandoned towns. Its 200 decaying buildings are kept in state of arrested decay by park rangers, and tourists flock to the site to explore its 1880s church, saloons and post office as well as the ruins of a burned-out bank …show more content…

He had his own Iron ore mines, Steel plants, Oak forest and cow herd. In the mid 1920’s he deiced he wanted to have his own rubber production. He wanted to have very productive rubber tree’s, that way he could an easier way of getting rubber for his tires. Eventually he settled on a rubber plantation in an Amazon River base in the Amazon Jungle. In 1927 the plan came together and he named it after himself, “FordLandia”. There were a lot of setbacks and problems getting things started, but eventually a town of American style houses, rubber producing factory, schools, hospitals, recreation factories, were built for his workers. He put 20 million dollars into little town he had created. He was the president of Fordlandia, whatever he said went. None of that lasted long at all, not even the tree’s or the society. After awhile the people got tired of the rules Henry Ford had set, the started to become rebellious and fight. Then the trees weren’t growing properly, producing enough rubber like they should, and got diseases. Everything came crashing down on Fordlandia, but yet not much could be done since Henry Ford was all the way in North Michigan, they didn’t have phones, or computers yet.
