There are many types of people in this world. Some are out going, loud and brave, some are quiet and observant and the rest are just crazy. How does one change who they are? That's easier said than done. A lot of situations can change a person though, I call them lessons learned in life. If a girl got her heart broken because her boyfriend cheated on her, she will hate men and not trust them or give herself wastefully to anybody. That is an example of a scar that a lot of individuals experience in their lives. But because of a such situations we change. A person's personality is who they are, it makes them different in their own way. If every one was the same, then the world would be one boring place. We were created in God's image and his image only, but yet every person is different. No person on this earth is like another. We may be very similar, have a lot in common, but never the same. The Dead Poet's Society movie shows a lot of different types of people. Neil Perry is the crazy kind. He loves to do new things, come up with ideas and take action. He has no reasoning for what he does, except his passion, acting. Even with his dad blocking his life, he tried out for the play and realized for a fact that acting is his love and an actor is who he wants to be. Professor Keeting; he is similar to Neil, but organized. He knows his routine in teaching and finds more creative ways to make the boys understand poetry. He didn't care about the rules and cared about his students. He taught in Welton Academy because he loved teaching, no matter how far away London was. Then there was Knox Overstreet. He fell in love with a girl named Chris from the first time he saw her and never gave up on his love. He believ... ... middle of paper ... ... still came out. He obviously has never dealt with death, so he could only do one thing that came naturally to him, go to isolation and just be by himself. He ended up being a new person. Todd was an example rather then the leader after Keepling left. He was the one who stood up on the desk and showed Keepling that he sees the world or at least his teacher from a different point of view. The leader in him screamed out for a difference and respect. He made his point by action; telling us that words are not everything, which the professor taught them while he was there. Different situations change people, people change others. We don't necessarily have to change, but we do need to know who we are. We need to know who influences us and what can change us. Defining our personality and the reasons behind it is the first part to find out who we are in and out.

Many people have transformed, or changed, throughout their lives, either in a positive or a negative way. But what does it mean to transform? That can be different between people and the way they think. Some think it's something unacceptable and you should try avoiding it, others want to transform themselves. To transform, you just need to see the true meaning of things and be happy. It is possible to change, but you need a reason to change. You need motivation, just like how you need the motivation to do the things you love to do.
How do we know when or how to change ourselves as people? Sometimes, we all need a shove from something or someone to help us better ourselves. The most dominant factors are kindness, fear, and regret. These three things can make us willing to go through the hassle and hard work of breaking out of a habit, whether it be putting your feet on the couch, or your attitude.
Consider McMurphy and Mr. Keating, both characters are very similar in a multitude of ways. Neither of them is in charge as they are both under their respective antagonist, either being Nurse Ratched or Principle Nolan. However throughout the progression of each plot, they both teach and inspire either the patients or the students to become individuals. McMurphy gave the patients the ability to seize back the power from Nurse Ratched through showing them the way how, and teaching the patients that they are their own person and have their own rights. Mr. Keating teaches the students how to be outside the box, as shown when in class he strays from the regular methods of teaching and shows the students a truly out-of-the-box concept about life, “Carpe Diem.” Towards the final moments of the plot, both characters achieve a full commitment to their cause that eventuates in self-sacrifice. McMurphy is lobotomized and Mr. Keating is fired from Welton Academy. However similarly in both plots, after both characters sacrifices themselves they pass on what they have learned and allowed others to beat their struggle for independence. Chief leaves the institution and the students stand up against Principle Nolan with what they believe in. Weir and Kesey use these characters to inspire and support those who struggle for independence and use their characterization as a technique to do so.
Nothing really happens at the meetings other than the reading of poetry for inspiration in life. Neil, perhaps the most perplexing character in the movie, discovers his dream in life is to be an actor. His father, for a reason none other than...
Millions of people make up humanity, coloring the world with their unique personalities, and while they are sometimes labeled as eccentric or even strange, no one goes beyond the surface to see what makes them who they are. What if the people seen every day as professors, students, or geniuses, become someone else? What if their reality is no longer the one shared amongst others in the world?

So, the Dead Poets Society was about an English Teacher at the Welton Academy for Boys who was trying new methods of teaching so he will be able to actually get through to the boys. The boys are also under a lot of pressure by their parents and the rest of the members of the school. The problem with Mr. Keating (the English Teacher) was that his method of teaching is very different from how the school has been doing things in the last decades. Mr. Keating has been teaching the boys that they need to pursue their dreams and believe in romanticism. This leads to a path of destruction for Mr. Keating.
How the Quotations and Poems Demonstrate the Main Themes or Ideas of the Film Dead Poet's Society
Keating goes above and beyond at developing the minds of his students, including helping Todd find the poet within himself, and supporting Neil when Neil’s father didn’t want Neil to act. Overall, Mr. Keating and his actions pushed the ideas of creativity and self-thought throughout the film.
Todd was the characters most transformed through his experiences in the film. He spent much of his time studying rather than socializing. Todd became a member of the Dead Poets Society. Through the Dead Poets Society, Todd became a more friendly and social person.Todd was once told by Mr.Keating to stand up in front of his classmates and make up a poem that same instant. After that his feeling of embarrassment his personality changed and his confidence

The movie, Dead Poets Society, takes place at Welton Academy, an elite preparatory school for boys. The four pillars of the school’s philosophy are tradition, honor, discipline, and excellence. The new English teacher, a Welton Academy alumnus, is John Keating, played by Robin Williams. Keating believes that the purpose of education is to teach students to think for themselves. John Keating challenges the traditional learning techniques with a new progressive and humanistic approach, through a student-centered curriculum.
In some ways we are all the same. We all have the same human nature. We share a common humanity. We all have human bodies and human minds, we all have human thoughts and human feelings.
